I've moved house but maps continues to use old address

Having moved house my iMac and iPads continue to show old address as 'current location' in Maps

When you reset the Airport Express did you reuse the same wifi network name? Pick a new one.
Barney-15E is correct, wifi geolocation is used for devices without GPS. Basically there is a database of wifi access points on Apples servers, the device reports what access points it can see & asks for a location based on the strength of those signals.
Renaming your access point may help the DB update info for that wifi transmitter & eventually it will become accurate again. The wifi MAC address will also be in the DB, but you cannot change that.
If you have an iPhone enable the option to submit 'diagnostic & usage' info to Apple. They will gather the wifi & GPS data from around you for the DB that Maps uses. The setting is in settings app General > About > Diagnostics & usage.
I really don't understand what you mean by 'keychain problems' - you should decrease a new topic if you want to address that issue.

  • Moved house but iPhone/iPad think I am still in old house

I have recently moved house, about 2 km from my old house, yet both my iPhone 5 and iPad 2 (wi-fi only) think I am still at the old location.  This is apparent in any app that uses the GPS function, such as Maps, Google Maps, Wundermap, Saga and Foursquare.  I have been in the new house for a week.  Anything I have to do to get all my IOS devices to correctly recognise where I am?

It's the location of your WiFi access point that is causing the wrong location. Presumably, when you moved you took your WiFi router with you?
That router is in Apple's database of locations at the old house. In time, your iPhone (and others around it via crowdsourcing WiFi hotspot locations) will report your routers location as having moved to where it is now.
There's nothing you can do to speed up this process, except make sure your iPhone's Location Services are turned on, and it connects to this WiFi router regularly.
Your iPhone should report its correct location using aGPS alone if you turn off WiFi when it does its initial location look-up.

Have a 802.11n time capsule, the range of the wireless network has shrunk down to nothing over last few days. Used to be able to use wireless network anywhere in house, but now can only use in my office. Will not connect to iphones, ipad, itouch, or notebook. Worked fine last week, but over weekend just started having issues.

It is very possible that you may have some form of Wi-Fi interference that has appeared recently that is preventing your Time Capsule (TC) from providing a clean RF signal.
I suggest you perform a simple site survey, using utilities like iStumbler, or AirRadar to determine potential areas of interference, and then, try to either eliminate or significantly reduce them where possible. Look for other Wi-Fis that may be operating nearby. Note those with the strongest signals and which channels they are operating on ... then change the channel used by the TC to be at least 3-5 channels away.

    Hello farahani hairon nizar,
If your Apple ID was changed from your old account, you may have to change it back to your old account to be able to sign out and then change it back after that is done. Take a look at the article below for more information.
If you're asked for the password to your previous Apple ID when signing out of iCloud

How can I solve this problem?(Wihtout resetting j2ee engine.)
    Thanks.

    Cemil,
check whether cache invalidation tool is installed on your portal or not.
go to system administration-system configuration-webdynpro console-invalidate ARFC cache
or you can reimport model using another jco connection.

  • Moved house, but my Home Hub still thinks I'm at t...

We've recently moved, taking our Home Hub 3 with us. All's working fine, except that all location services on ITouch and iPad (including the BT WiFi Hotspot app) all still place our current location as the old address.
The Hub has been reset (with paper clip), browsing history and cookies have been deleted, and yet location doesn't change.
Only similar thread I found was someone in Suffolk being told they lived in Southampton, which got fixed after they emailed Google.  Don't think the BT Wifi App, iTouch or HomeHub are anything to do with Google, so I'm assuming this is a different problem.
I've tried logging on to the hub, but there doesn't appear to be an obvious setting for physical geographic location. Anyone any ideas?

    This page may help.
Why does my Android phone say I am in the wrong place?
Other location systems use the same method as Google.

  • HT4542 I have changed my Apple ID and password but iTunes continues to use my old email address to which I don't have a password.

I have changed my Apple ID and password but I cannot access iTunes which continues to use a previous id for which I do not have a password

Is this on your iPad or computer's iTunes ? If your iPad then tap on your id in Settigns > iTunes & App Store and log out of it and then log back in with the updated version of your account. If your computer's iTunes then you can sign out via the Store > Sign Out menu option and that will then change to Store > Sign In option

  • I have changed cache location but FF4 continues to use appdata/local/temp for storing actual files

    I use FF 4.0.1
I changed the location of the disk cache by going to
    about:cache
    and changing browser.disk.cache.parent_directory
    to a new location
yet FF4 still stores files at the old location

Thanks! Actually firefox DOES create a folder called Cache and fill it with lots of other folders. The problem is that when it comes to actual files, they land at the original appdata/local folder :(

  • Maps - picks up my old address as current location

Opened maps in Mavericks for the first time and it asked me if it could use my current loaction which I agreed to. It shows my current location as my previous address which I left about a month ago. I'm not sure where it is picking this up from. I checked contacts and my home address was reflecting the new one. I clicked on "show map" with the contacts application and it went to my new address. Any ideas? Thanks

    Try this:
    * Navigate to Settings>General>Network>Enable 3G and toggle to “OFF”
    * Locate yourself using the iPhone 3G’s GPS receiver in the maps app.
    * Navigate to Settings>General>Network>Enable 3G and toggle to “ON”

  • Renamed a .cp file but .swf file still uses old name

I tried finding where the original file name would be kept in
the .cp file. The Property window has the updated name, the Publish
uses the updated name. I checked using notepad and no matching
string found. I use notepad to view the generated .swf file and the
old .cp file name is still in there. From the robohelp project in
the multiMedia folder of swf files, the right click shows the edit
option. This seems to use swf's stored file name for the .cp file.
    How can I correct this?
The Captive help indicated a movie file can be renamed by
simply using widows explorer, nothing else required.

Seens if you delete the old swf file before you generate the
new one the new swf file has the current .cp file name.

  • Changing apple id but email still goes to old address

Hi, does anyone know why I would still get emails sent to my old apple id address after having changed it?

This cannot be Apple's fault.   That address must be owned by you and you simply registered the wrong one.  That being so, you can change the address through the edit process.
You can change your Apple ID to any email address that is not already being used or connected with another Apple ID.

Hello, I have just moved house ( 2 weeks ago) I use to get BT infinity so I was expecting a big drop but nothing like this. When I orderd my new BT package I was told to estimate speed of 12mb.
My internet cuts out regularly - 5 to 10 times aday and most of the time when I get incoming and out going calls.
-I was getting 11.1mb the first two days I moved in.
     - Currently plugged into test socket and did the 17070 and 2 and getting some static sound but did this with a wireless phone standing next to the receiver.
-Just got brand new ADSL filters from BT.
Any help would be fantastic due to this is damaging my work with clients - Thank you!

Already talked to BT about BT business two years ago and was told I did not need to "upgrade"
I have contacted a BT enginer who is coming out next week.
