I've noticed that sometimes the sound just disappears...

...it's an iPhone 4 and randomly the sound when I enter my passcode or press any functions is silent. Any ideas?

Reset  ( No Data will be Lost )
Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button at the same time for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears. Release the Buttons.
