I've purchased photoshop and jumped through 83 hoops, how do I install it?

Probably a stupid question, but I am now oever an hour into the purchase and download process, and am getting pretty frustrated.
I purchased PhotoShop Extended CS6 for Mac, educational discount for university staff.
I received a code from the seller.
Then starting at adobe.com/go/edu-validate I answered all the questions and received a "redemption code".
I took the redemption code to adobe.com/go/getserial, answered more questions, went through the whole adobe account creation, and finally got a "serial number".
It tells me I'll need to provide the serial number as part of the download/installaion process.  But it fails to tell me how to initiate that process.
It does give me a link to adobe tech support, which turns out to be this forum.
Anyway, please ignore all my whining, and clue me in as to how I can download the product I purchased yesterday.

The spam isn't from adobe.  It is a "private message" from another user.  In both cases the sender is <[email protected]>.  The subect is "You have a new private message."  The message body directs me to check my adobe account's private emails.  The messages there are under the standard guise of a woman who has seen my wonderful profile and wants to be my friend.
I've hunted through my adobe account settings to try to find away to reject such emails, or set some privacy setting that would prevent these people from seeing my profile.  No luck.  It is probably too late anyway.  I would delete the profile altogether but since my purchase is tied to that I am afraid it will not run if I delete the profile.
In the meantime, a mere four hours after I started the process of validating my photoshop purchase, I now have photoshop running on my machine.  It's hard for me to imagine a company treating paying customers this poorly.
