iOS: Wi-Fi or Bluetooth settings grayed out or dim
One user reported that placing the iPod in the freezer fixed the problem. A trick that works frequently with iPhones:
Settings > AirPlane Mode ON, Do Not Disturb ON
Power down and wait 5-10 minutes
Power up
Settings > AirPlane Mode OFF, Do Not Disturb OFF
If not successful, an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is usually in order.

It is not related to a specific iOS update. It just happens occasionally to iOS devices.

Every time that I try to download my music from I tunes an error message comes up it says, ( err = 450) Make sure that your network connetion is active and try again. What can I do to fix this problem, I have tried everthing that I-tunes has told me but with no luck. Thanks
Try disabling your parental controls. Does that help with the 450?

i have a classic that seems to be stuck in restore mode, the screen says "do not disconnect'' and i can't restore using itunes. i have tried resetting it and still no good, what can i do to fix this problem ?
Be good to know what the diagnostic results are.
I've also just run into an issue where I couldn't restore an iPod with a corrupt file system, and the "super fix" in that linked article wasn't working for me. I've run across a potentially useful workaround.
iPod Classic went on the fritz today just after syncing. Couldn't restore via iTunes, kept getting 1439 errors, Windows wouldn't format as FAT32, claimed the "Volume is too big for FAT32". Finally tracked down EaseUS Partition Master Home Edition (Free) and formatted as FAT32 with 128k clusters. The iPod is filling back up again. Might be worth a shot here...

Afetr visiting approx 5 sites Safari freezes. I thewn toggle the wifi button in settings or some time carry out a reboot. Safari then works OK for another 5 or so sites and freezes again. I am working close by the router so signal strength is not a problem. What can I do to fix this problem
I experienced this problem occasionally in the past. What I would do is quit Safari like I describe below.
Double click the Home button to show the screen with running and recently used apps. Each app icon will have a sample page above it. Flick up on the page (not the app icon) and the page will fly away and the app icon will disappear. This quits that app.
I then just started Safari again and it seemed to work correctly.
After the update to iOS 7.1 however, this problem has disappeared from my iPad. -
during a update of apple my iphone 3GS crashed an now the operating system wont load up..ive tried to reset the phone to the factory settings using itunes it took 4 hours and completed but my phone still wont come on..what can i do to fix the problem? please help #
In trying to include what information all that I could I should have specified I DON'T KNOW THAT IT WAS DEFINATELY JAILBROKEN when I took it to the apple store they told me there's no way for them to tell if it was jail broken or not. I'm only going by what ppl have told me COULD HAVE BEEN DONE TO THE PHONE. With that said the only thing I know for sure is that the apple tech at the Genius Bar told me that someone took control of my root menu in February & I've had no control of my phone since. I asked him how to regain control & how he knew his exact words were "oh that is out of our scope of capabilities here at this level & you would need an apple engineer to fix it". I said ok then how do I get an apple eng then? He laughed & said you can't!!!! To which I was furious I came home & called apple requesting to speak w/the fraud dept to file a report they said we don't have a fraud dept!! So after a 45 mn phone call again I left w/no answers.

I DON'T HAVE THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS TO SPEND HIRING AN ATTORNEY & Although I appreciate your suggestion I fail to how an attorney would be able to facilitate in any way since there's no suspect. I cannot prove that it's him doing it so I certainly can't pursue legal action w/no proof & no money. :'((
Again I thank you for your advice but I don't think that will help.
I was looking more for a TECHNICAL way to avoid this happening w/a new phone should I buy one or trying to get them out of my phone now! Such as installing some kind of software protection?? Someway to clear out the entire phone (other than factory reset which was done 10 x's w/no success, etc. if this person got in then there HAS TO BE A WAY OF GETTING HIM OUT, right???? -
I cannot acces my IPhone due to i get a notification saying that i dont have enough storage and i need to back it up with ICloud but it wont let me click close or settings there for i cannot recieve calls or acces my email or text messages. I even tried turning off the power but it wont let me do anything please help !
If the iPhone won't Restart you should be able to Reset it. Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button together for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
For the future (in case you don't' know), go to Settings > iCloud > Storage & Backup > Manage Storage, and choose your Device under the Backups list.
Under the Backup Options turn off anything you don't care about (being backed up, that is). This will let you reduce the backup size so that it fits in iCloud again. You can also delete the current backup here.
You should also check Settings > General > Usage and look at how much data each app is storing. Identify problem apps and go clean out unwanted files.
Great resource as well http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5262
Hope this helps! -
Can someone help here?
Updating iOS on your phone would not have any effect on your Mac.
What exactly is the problem? -
This has happened once before and fixed itself overnight somehow, but this time it's been over 24 hours and hasn't fixed itself. I can't even check was OS I have as a result. I'm not very tech savvy so I don't know how to fix it at all. This iPod was actually a hand-me-down from a friend of mine.
I've tried switching it to Airplane Mode in order to turn off the wifi entirely and then switching back but that hasn't helped. What can I do to fix this?Does the iOS device connect to other networks?
Does the iOS device see the network?
Any error messages?
Do other devices now connect?
Did the iOS device connect before?
Try the following to rule out a software problem:
- Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
- Power off and then back on your router
.- Reset network settings: Settings>General>Reset>Reset Network Settings
- iOS: Troubleshooting Wi-Fi networks and connections
- Wi-Fi: Unable to connect to an 802.11n Wi-Fi network
- iOS: Recommended settings for Wi-Fi routers and access points
- Restore from backup. See:
iOS: How to back up
- Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.
If still problem and it does not connect to any networks make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store since it appears you have a hardware problem.

I couldn't remember the answers to my security questions. And I couldn't find the option to reset the questions. Now I'm locked out of my account for 8 hrs. What can I do to fix this?
You need to ask Apple to reset your security questions. To do this, click here and pick a method; if that page doesn't list one for your country or you're unable to call, fill out and submit this form.
They wouldn't be security questions if they could be bypassed without Apple verifying your identity.

Since getting a new Verizon router I must unplug/plug in my Apple TV to get it to connect to the network every time I turn it on. What can I do to solve this problem?
I would discover which brand of routers verizon bundle and go to the router makers homepage and check if they had a newer firmware for the router

I updated to Mountain Lion 10.8.5 on my 2008 model MacBook and now I cannot turn on the wifi. I go to System Preferences, Network then click on wifi. I click Turn Wi-Fi On but it doesn't respond.
Whats the fix?Forget all the suggested solutions for correcting the WiFi connectivity problems with the 2008 MacBook Pro. None of them work. Just purchase a Bear Extender (bearextender.com), install its software, turn off your computer's WiFi (and don't turn it back on!), plug the Bear Extender into your USB, and you will have consistent WiFi connection. Bear Extender never drops!

I did the SMC reset for my iMac intel-based and now it won't turn on. What can I do to fix this?
Well, first things first... is the power cord fully plugged into the back of the iMac (and the wall, for that matter)?
Make sure the wall outlet has power, too... I've scratched my head over stupid issues where I forgot to flip a wall switch.
If the outlet does have power, then try doing a pram zap. Command + option + P + R (hold those at startup).
If the machine is receiving power, you should be able to see some LEDs if you look through the bottom grate of the machine to the left of the RAM door. -
After sucessfully installing the new IOS 7 software on my Iphone 5, my imessage will not work. It has the message "waiting to activate". I have reset my network settings several time and turn my phone off and back on. What else can I do to get the imessage back up and running?
To sync an iOS 7 device you need to be running iTunes 11.1.1; iTunes 10.6 is way too old and won't work. You need to install iTunes 11.1.1, but to do that you need to be running at least Mac OS X 10.6.8.
So you need to do the following:
1. Upgrade your Mac to at least OS X 10.6.8 (later preferably, but 10.6.8 at the miniumum).
a. Check first to see if your model Mac can be upgraded, check that it has enough RAM and so forth (2GB at the least, more if possible).
b. If you can't upgrade your Mac, or don't want to, then you will have to buy a new Mac with the latest version of OS X (currently 10.8.5, soon to become 10.9) and iTunes 11.1.1
2. Install iTunes 11.1.1 on your newly upgraded Mac.
3. Sync your iOS 7 iPhone with iTunes.
