I've responded on several posts, but I wanna make this official..

So its time to come out of the closet... I have bought my first Apple Computer. I am currently posting this from my new iMac. I just spent the evening wall mounting the beast. Getting those two side bolts in on the VESA adapter was a pain, but based on previous posts, I cleared that hurdle. I will post pics once I get the wiring neatly configured.
After playing with it on and off for 3 days, I am quite impressed.. Impressed to the point that I shouldn't have waited. I've been a PC owner for over 20 years.. I always snickered at my friends that first got the original Mac, then I snickered at the folks that got their IIc etc. I got into OS/2, Windows, and then Linux. It was all a blast... but getting OS X Leopard just amazes me. The one thing that surprised me was that "Spaces" was a new feature in Leopard.. Having used various forms of Unix/Linux, I "assumed" it was out of the box in Tiger.
For what I do, I do not see any screen issues, nor have I experienced any hangs. I am, however, not going out of my way to force it.
I do have alot to learn.. Or rather unlearn what I have learned. I mean, I could do what I want to do, but requires significant thinking. Also, it didn't help when I looked at the shortcut symbols and had no idea how to execute them (besides the command key/ the symbol is on the keyboard). I mean the option key.. I had no idea what the "symbol" was...
The only other thing I miss (I got both the wireless keyboard and mouse), is a "home" and "end" key.. Didn't realize how much I use those in the Windows world, but yes, I am aware it does not have a numeric keypad, and honestly, I am glad it doesn't.. But then thats me, and just my $0.02.

Welcome. One of my buddies had an old Apple 520c notebook, many years ago. He then bought Winblows cr@p for many years, because that's what the "smart" people at work did. Monkey see, monkey do. He then got to borrow an iBook from his workplace, and was ENLIGHTENED by how much sense Mac OS makes, and it's simplicity. He now has a new MacBook Pro! He now brags about Macs. DUH, been there, done that!!!

Hi all,
How to know whether a servlet had completely sent its response to the request.
The problem what i am facing is, I send response to a client's request as a file.
The byte by byte transfer happens, now if the client interrupts or cancels the operation, the response is not completed.
At this stage how to know the response status. I am handling all exception, even then I am unable to trap the status.
Please help me out.
I have posted this query several times but no convincing reply till now. Hence please help me out.
If somebody wants to see the code. I'll send it through mail.

Please check the code what I have written. The servlet if I execute in Javawebserver2.0 I could trap the exception. If the same servlet is running in weblogic 6.0 I am unable to get the exception.

Impdp imported several MB but still 0 out of Nn million rows?!?

Has anyone run into this issue when data pump shows "nMB but 0 out of millions of rows" NOT imported?!? There are two tables in my import that do this. I have also encountered this error as well ORA-39166: Object was not found. Which seemed to be circumvented ONLY after setting the characterset. But now it cannot import data for two tables.
Here is the background.
The import was sent to me in two files. The ddl in one dump and the data in another. So I had to first create the DDL then import the data.
Create the ddl parameterfile and import the metadata.
Found the tablespaces from the source db.
I created a ddl file via impdp. remapped the tablespaces, created the users.
Import the data.
I set the character set env variable and used the following settings in the parameter file.

interestingly enough i was able to apply the rows to both of these two tables if I did not set the NLS_LANG in the environment and import both of them together. That only worked for these two tables however.
I do see one thing I find interesting one table shows 73K rows but not data and zero count when I select rows. So obviously there is nothing there but I'm not sure why it's reporting rows. Any ideas?

Sorry for the oversight should have been more thourough. The version the datapump export was sent to me in was 11.2.0.2 the version database I'm using is 11.2.0.1.
-- Futher response to my own post (pasted here). Further research proved my suspicion which was the table was not part of any DUMP file I was provided. I do not know why TOAD was showing it with 73K rows because SQL queries did not support that.

We had the same problem, but figure out the solution.
You MUST have at least 1 song added to your ITUNE! After you add a free song, then everything else should work as normal!

Thanks for the suggestion, Chris. I actually did not resolve the issue which is why i did not post an answer.
it turns out that my iphone seems to default to an incorrect User ID (it defaults to an @me account, which is not something that i have ever used).
even when i change the User ID in my settings for the iTunes store, it still appears when i attempt to get updates for my existing apps. however, it does seem to use the correct ID when i attempt to purchase new apps.
If someone actually had an answer to correct this, i would love to update my existing apps.

loads to a 'zen' background page, silver letters black background, then acts like it goes to switch to another screen, I'd assume a battery charging format since it's a first charge, but freezes on the background with multicolored splotches in horizontal rows

When did you get this player? That should not be happening. Those are signs of a bad motherboard or bad screen. Both could be from using the generic charger.

I sent this question several times but have not received an email so that I can confirm.

Here is the question:
Firefox freezes or closes with any version past 3.6! Have tried various suggestions from online support. I am using Windows XP Pro with all updates, Comcast, Norton Security Suite, V5.1.0.2 updated. The only add-on that seems to work with newer versions is NoScript. I miss Colorful Tabs and Expended Copy Menu. Both those add-ons will freeze Firefox now. Sees like Firefox is going backwards instead of improving.
I have gone into the registry, removed all Mozilla and Firefox entries and reinstalled 8.1. Didn't make any difference. Sometimes 8.1 will work for 3 or 4 sessions before freezing or not reloading. I then have to do a clean reinstall. I really, really don't want to go back and start using IE.
Is this an issue for anyone else or just my computer which is about a year old? Sure would appreciate any help.

Well I have tried installing 8.1 without any add-ons and it will open once or twice. Then it will not open. I just reinstalled 3.6 to make this post. I have no issues with 3.6 but Mozilla has posted that this version will soon stop being supported. I can use 8.1 in safe mode with bookmarks enabled but not in regular mode!

Have you checked the alert address set for your forum profile? That's set by clicking on the 'Quick access' dropdown in the upper left (under the 'Ask a question' button) and choosing 'My settings'. There's a 'Configure alerts' section there where you can

Funny you should ask... At about the same time that the Xserve was discontinued, we also lost our channel rep of nearly 14 years. Right now we are not sure who our rep is. I have however, sent this to as many people in Apple that I could think of. And I plan on continuing to reach out to as many as possible.
The sad reality is that this decision is impacting customer deployments and the future of customer installations. Apple strives for market share and loves to tout those numbers. But the numbers we fought for over these last eight years are going to disappear.
As much as this impacts our business, we are making up for it in enterprise deployment of systems. We will survive and lead in our geographic area. I do not fear that. But OS X Server is a UNIX server and with it has come all of the benefits of a UNIX system, including legitimacy in a data center. The Intel Xserve cemented this reality because of its hardware configuration and form factor. Yes, we have G4 and G5s still in service. But those are mostly in all Mac shops that understand the benefits and can work around the buzz word limitations. But fortune 100/500 IT departments did not really get on board until the release of the Intel server.
Still beating the drum to raise awareness. Spread the word and talk to your Apple reps.
Also, ask about the direction that Apple's Enterprise team is going. If the news I hear is correct, then our fears about all things pro and enterprise going away are likely true.

The "restore disk" is built into the Mac. See About Recovery.
Need more specifics about what error messages you got while installing Adobe Flash.
However, you can almost avoid Flash altogether by setting YouTube to play the HTML5 version instead.
Click the Try something new! link at the bottom of the YouTube page.
I don't know about the sound issue. Might be hardware as you think. Try other headphones to check.

How can i check for posted but not yet commited changes in a form

I make changes programmatically in a form then i post it using (Post built in).
If the user exits the form, i make check for any changes in the form to commit it using the system variable :system.form_status
Unfortunately the value of this system variable is 'Query' not 'Changed' because of using the post built in.
Is ther another system variable ( or any another way ) that check for posted but not yet commited changes in the form ?

I had faced similar situation. Using of package variable which identifies, what is the user's latest action.
This is just a workaround.
Capture what the user has performed into a variable say, PKG_VAR.ACTION,
This will be assigned values like List L, and Create C, Update U and Saved S.
If commit is executed,assing the status S to the variable.
So while closing,
IF :system.form_status = 'CHANGED' or PKG_VAR.ACTION in ('C','U') THEN
-- validate the data, n perform commit.
else
-- just close the form.
end if;
