I've tried everything.. Still get error

I run WinXP, and when I try to open iTunes, I get the message "iTunes has encountered a problem..." and I've tried everything to fix it. I tried installing the standalone quicktime player, played with Norton, and everything else that was mentioned on this board, but it still does not work. Is there any other solutions to get this thing to work!? Thanks.

I had the same problem and i have finally got my itunes to work by following someone else's instructions. I hope it helps you! Here they are:
The problem is that the installer somehow managed to delete our quicktime uninstall files and others too. So windows register quicktime as installed but it is only some, and what would a normal response to this be... repair it. And there is the problem, the uninstall file was also deleted so if you go to add remove programs quicktime isnt there. Now to delete quicktime completely so that you can install iTunes and Quicktime from a new install, you have to delete all quick time files.
Do the following:
Go to search and type quicktime, delete all the files showing (if they are connected to quicktime, fx. not if it is an quicktime plugin to a browser)
Then go to run, type Regedit and when you get to it go to edit>search
Now all folders with keys and values it finds must be deleted, without exception
Now go to add remove programs and click on iTunes and choose repair. You could also uninstall and then use your install.
This is a huge problem with today’s applications: You rely on one uninstall file, and if you loose that and the program has an error, you need to delete the program manually sigh
In my opinion every program should have at least one backup uninstallers so you don’t rely on it

I followed all the steps in solution 1, I even uninstalled adobe download starter and reinstalled it trying to download the trial. Can someone please help me? I get the opportunity to log in and as soon as I do I get "Error 107 something about adobe can not contact the server and to restart and try again" I've done everything and I would really like this trial. Id be really appreciative if someone could help.

Still getting ERROR 1602 when updating.. I've tried everything... HELP!

I have tried the following, and no luck.
- Uninstalling iTunes and Apple Mobile Device, then reinstalling them after reboot.
- Plugging into different USB ports, and blowing dust out of them.
- Rebooting iPhone multiple times.
- Clicking "Restore" instead of "Update". Still get error message.
- Erasing the patch file and re-downloading it.
The only thing I haven't done is call customer support because I hate dealing with stuff like this over the phone. Are there any other options, or should I plan on making a trip to an Apple store?

The work offline option can be found from Firefox button -> Web developer or from the menubar toolbar -> Work offline (Or at least thats what happens in Windows).
Have you any other reason for being offline; router off, firefox not dialing up or whatever. Or is security software or a firewall blocking firefox, or a network connection, or firefox setting etc set wrongly.

Try doing it in a WIndows Safe mode - Restart computer and hit F8 key right after your see BIOS check and choose "Safe mode with networking"
Do the SFC /SCANNOW again.
If that does not work, whilst in safe mode, download Free Malwarebyte software from CNET's Download.com. Install, update virus definition then perform a full scan. Remove if it did find some viruses or trojans. Restart computer.
Back to regular windows, do the SFC /SCANNOW again.
If that doesnot work, check to see if your Hard drive has errors or bad sectors
GO START BUTTON /COMPUTER, right mouse click OS (C:) and choose "Properties"
Choose "Tools" tab and under error checking, click "Check Now".
Make sure "Scan for and attempt recovery of bad sectors" is checked and click start.
Restart windows will perform the above task to fix errors This may take hours depends on how big is your Hard Drive

I had this exact issue. Spent over an hour on the phone with apple support, they couldn't resolve. Here is what I ended up doing, that worked.
1. Turned iTunes match off on all my iOS devices
2. Deleted the offending playlists from the iOS device they originated on
3. Started iTunes, let it run (literally) for an hour before it became responsive. First thing I did, before clicking anywere else was disable iTunes match. If I clicked anywhere, it would clock for another hour.
4. Let iTunes run overnight, by morning it had cleaned out the repeating play lists. This got my Mac/iTunes back to an operable state.
5. Restore iPhones from backup in iTunes.
What was causing my issue was a single playlist that was created on an iPhone, then suddenly showed up with several thousand duplicates on my other iPhone. The culprit playlist did not, for some reason, duplicate itself on my two iPads. Apple support seemed to think it was because the problem iPhone tried to sync the playlist to iCloud over and over again unsuccessfully, then it finally went through and populated the thousands of blank/failed playlists which then tried to propigate to iTunes and my other iOS devices. Seems like a reasonable theory.
I have not yet re-enabled iTunes match. So, no idea what will happen if I decide to go back down that rabbit hole.

Here is what you should do to trouble shoot your problem.
Open up the composition that is giving you problems
Your error message tells you that you are having problems with the Shatter effect so select the layer with the shatter effect and turn the effect off
Try a ram preview
If the ram preview is successful add a solid to your comp
Copy your shatter effect and paste it to the new solid you created
Turn off all other layers
Try a ram preview
If the ram preview crashes go back to step 6 and reset shatter and try again
If the ram preview is successful start adding the properties from your original shatter effect until you get a crash.
If the ram preview works the first time you try step 6 then there is something wrong with the combination of shatter and the original layer it was applied to so remove shatter from that layer, pre-compose that layer moving all attributes to the new layer then paste the working shatter from the solid to the pre-comp, turn off the solid and try another ram preview.
Do you kind of get the procedure here. When something is causing a crash first isolate that problem, try it on something simple, then try different things until you can reproduce the crash. Make sure you are saving copies of your project so you can easily go back.
If you can't figure out what settings in Shatter are causing the crash then we need to know everything there is to know about your composition and see a screenshot or the project file. If it is the footage that is causing the crash then you need to transcode, recompress, or in some other way change the format of the footage. There is nothing we can surmise from the details you have given us that give us any clue why shatter is crashing. It usually does not. I can't think of the last time it caused a crash for me. The only possible thing I can think of that would be causing a crash is that the number of particles is causing your system to run out of memory.

You have gone to Settings > Sounds and the volume is set at a high level, you have selected a Ringtone for the sound, and it still does not ring? Try a reboot by holding both the power and home buttons until the apple logo appears and it restarts, ignoring the red slider if it appears.
If that does not help, visit an Apple store genius bar and have the iPhone tested to see if there is a hardware failure.

You can also use this website to check to see if a device has been erased or if it is still locked. This will not work with using a mobile browser on an iOS device. If you have a browser that can identify as a desktop version, it will work. If not, check it on a computer web browser.

Why am I still getting Error 16 after installing CS6 on a second computer?

I have the CS6 version of Design and Web Premium installed on my macbook. Recently I tried installing it on my iMac running Yosemite. When opening any of the CS6 programs I get "Error 16". I have tried changing the permissions in the SLStore and Adobe PCD folders, but to no avail. I have also tried deactivating CS6 on my macbook. Why am I still getting Error 16?

In this case you may to perform a clean installation once, meaning removing all Adobe products folders.
First Run cc cleaner tool and clean remove all products

Then Open Applications folder and trash All Adobe related folders
Click on Finder and then hold Command + Shift + G keys on your keypad
It will open Go to folder window, type exactly ~/Library and click on Go

Go back to Library and open Preferences
Then trash All Adobe preferences files
Go back to Library and open cache ( trash All Adobe related files )
Click on Finder and then hold Command + Shift + G keys on your keypad
This time type /Library and click on Go.
open Application Support
Rename Adobe folder to Adobeold.
If possible restart the computer once.
Then try to install your suite.

Place the iOS device in Recovery Mode and then connect to your computer and restore via iTunes. The iPod will be erased.
iOS: Wrong passcode results in red disabled screen
If recovery mode does not work try DFU mode.

There are many people suffering from this problem right now (including me). It appears to be a server issue. Just wait and try checking for updates again tomorrow.
Some things I have heard indicate that this may be a regional problem, though what parts of the world are affected I don't know yet. A few people have been helped by deleting the following preference file (paste the path into the Go -> Go to Folder window in the Finder to locate it), though most have not:
~/Library/Preferences/com.apple.SoftwareUpdate.plist
Note that if you are trying to download iTunes 10.7, that can be found here:

Also, note that there is no reason to be anxious to get it, as the only thing added in iTunes 10.7 is compatibility with iOS 6, which will not be available until the 19th, and the new iPhone, which will not be available until later as well.
