Okay, so to make a long story very short, I had to reinstall the operating system on my iBook, and after doing so, iWeb no longer opens the site I made in it. Instead of opening the site, it acts as though I have never used the program before and asks me to create a new site. Is there any way to salvage my old iWeb site, or do I have to start over on it? (if it makes any difference, I don't have .Mac)
Thanks...Hi Everyone,
I have exactly the same problem as Chad. However, I had exported my site to a folder and backed it up before I reinstalled.
I can't work out how to do it, but surely there is a way to re-import my site back into iWeb.
I've been trying the iWebSites program but that doesn't seem to be of any help in my situation.
I would find it hard to believe that Apple could have left out what should be the most basic feature of iWeb, leaving me to believe that they have done this on purpose for some stupid reason.
If anyone has a way to get around this please let me know, it would be greatly appreciated.

Hi Guys,
I have had heaps of trouble with plugins and add on's since using upgrades after 3.6.18. Now I cannot download PDF files!
Are you Guys going to fix what used to be a good browser or do I have to use IE?
Please keep it simple.
John Smith-> go to Help Menu -> select "Restart with Add-ons Disabled"
Firefox will close then it will open up with just basic Firefox. Now do this:
-> go to Tools Menu -> Add-ons -> Extensions section -> REMOVE any Unwanted/Suspicious Extensions (add-ons) -> Restart Firefox
-> Update ALL your Firefox Plug-ins https://www.mozilla.com/en-US/plugincheck/
-> go to View Menu -> Zoom -> click "Reset"
-> go to View Menu -> Page Style -> select "Basic Page Style"
-> go Tools Menu -> Clear Recent History -> '''''Time range to clear: select EVERYTHING''''' -> click Details (small arrow) button -> place Checkmarks on ALL Options -> click "Clear Now"
-> go to Tools Menu -> Options -> General -> '''''When Firefox starts : select "Show My Home Page"''''' -> Type the address of the website which you want to be your HomePage e.g. http:www.google.com -> click OK
You can enable the Trustworthy Add-ons later. Check and tell if its working. -
Changes in iPhoto Not Updated in iWeb site.
I made some changes to the photos (color correction, red eye removal, etc.) I am using to a published site on the web (using iPhoto and iWeb), but the changes are not being reflected in iWeb. I can't seem to find any way to refresh the images.
Is there a way to refresh the images in the iWeb page. There are 84 images, all captioned, so I would prefer not to have to recreate the entire page if possible.
Any help or Suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks
Gary

iWeb will insist on calling up the original photos that you placed in the page. What you will need to do is delete the photos from the iWeb page that you are changing, (hopefully not all 84 images), and then Save these changes, and quit iWeb.
In iPhoto, export the newly edited photos to a folder on your desktop. Now launch iWeb, and drag the photos into iWeb from the folder to the positions you previously deleted. Save the changes; they should stick.
There have been a number of these types of problems reported with getting rid of the original pic files brought into iWeb. Hopefully, this approach will work for you. I'm 99% sure that it will! Let us know.

It is up to AVG to make whatever extension it is you are wanting compatible with the latest release...
What extension/add-on are you referring to? -

Why Is My Updated iWeb Site Corrupted After Updating?
I just updated my iWeb site last night, and yet for some reason the 1st/welcome page is showing up as corrupted. The rest of my site looks fine, but after this most recent update the first page of my site looks awful. It looks bad in Safari - it looks worse in Firefox.
I've never had this before. Why is this, and how can I fix it? Help!

Problems uploading iWeb site, keychain issue
Hi
I updated my iWeb site yesterday and uploaded, everything fine.
I have done some amends this morning and then tried to upload. I get kicked backs with an offer to learn about MobileMe, which I already have. So I click the sign in button and it tells me I have a Keychain error which prevents access.
All looks fine in Keychain.
I have gone to system prefs and tried to access my MobileMe account. I am denied access.
I have tried deleting the plists from my library, no effect.
Anyone got any thoughts?
Thanks
JonJon ~ Try this: Quit iWeb. Then menu > System Preferences... > MobileMe icon > Account tab > click on Sign Out... Then enter a garbage name and password and try to sign in. This apparently clears the MobileMe preferences. Then enter your real username and password. Once signed in, quit System Preferences, open iWeb and see if you can publish.
If that doesn't help and no-one else chips in here with a suggestion, MobileMe live chat support is now 24/7 — see this announcement. -
Download iWeb site from .mac
Hello
I make most of my iWeb pages (ver 1.1) at home, but sometimes I am at my vacation home. I have iLife on both machines. Can I download the site I have made which is on .Mac to my second computer AND create new pages to be uploaded to .Mac? I have tried looking around for such a command but I can't find any. I realize that any pages I make on the second machine will have to be updated on my main machine.PTakeshige wrote:

No, because the published files on MobileMe (previously .Mac) cannot be opened in iWeb. Only iWeb's key Domain file can be opened in iWeb, so you can transfer that to another Mac as explained in these articles — the first also applies to iWeb '06...

Maintain IWeb site from Windows (Vista) based machine
Just checking...I don't suppose there is anyway in <edited by host> I can manage or update an Iweb site from a windows based machine - which I've been asked to do. If this is possible, I'd love to hear how it might be done.
TIAWelcome to the discussions, CabanaKid.
No, it's not possible. iWeb keeps everything in it's Domain file and only iWeb can open and publish from that file. -
Rebuilding Photo Pages from Lost iWeb Site
I mistakenly deleted my backed up iWeb domain file after doing a fresh install of OSX. I know there is no way to import the published HTML files into iWeb, so I am in the process of making a copy of my website manually. I am looking for a way to rebuild my photo pages that doesn't require me to look at the published site, identify which photo is on the site, find it in iPhoto, and drag it to my new iWeb site. Instead, what I'd like to do is grab the photo files from iDisk for each photo page, and then drop them into my new iWeb site. However, I can't seem to find on my iDisk where the actual photo files are stored. I suspect I am looking in the wrong place. The files in the iDisk/Web/Sites/Site Name/My Albums/Pages/Album Name/Media/Photo Name are too small and low quality. When I click the download link from the published site, it's the full size file. Where is this stored?

Move iWeb site from iBook to iMac
I've created an iWeb site on my iBook and would like to transfer it to iWeb on my iMac...How do iDo this?
TreySaskia,
Your site on your iBook lives in a file called 'Domain', found in your Home folder Library:
Library/Application Support/iWeb/Domain
Duplicate this Domain file (Command+D) and transfer it to your iMac; placing it on a usb flash drive is a popular method as you can just double-click on the file after mounting the drive and iWeb, in either machine, will open it and you can access, edit, and publish changes to your site. You could use an external hard drive also. Remember to rename the file 'Domain' from 'Domain copy' after duplicating it.
Hope this helps out. -
My website has reverted to pre-iWeb site
I have had my website through iWeb for at least 4 months. Tonight when searched for it, I noticed that the whole iWeb format is gone and my website has reverted to it's pre-iWeb look (I created it on a PC)
I have some important job applications out and people are going to be looking for my gallery and resume online. Does anyone have suggestions on what I can do to fix this?
Thank you!you say you searched for it?
if the old site is still there it should have a different address than the iweb site.
how do you publish the iweb site? -
