Thanks. I haven't mixed down the audio or checked the number of tracks in Prefs. Good points.
As far as a mixdown goes, I'll definitely give it a try, though I wonder whether or not the tracks will be recognized during mix down recording - given that you can't hear either of those segments in playback. Just have to try.
Re the preferred number of allowed tracks - I'll go check as soon as I send this off, but I'm not sure that applies in this case, since the two Channels containing the segments that are pinked out are not in additional tracks. I should have mentioned that other audio clips and segments on the same Channels in the SAME tracks ARE heard in playback. As are two additional track in the 2nd Sequence. It's only when the two sequences are joined that the pink tinted segments can't be heard. Within the sequence the same audio cuts playback as they should. Thanks again &

I've never seen this issue, and I handle many iPads, of all versions. WiFi issues are generally local to the WiFi router - they are not all of the same quality, range, immunity to interference, etc. You have distance, building construction, and the biggie - interference.
At home, I use Apple routers, and have no issues with any of my WiFi enabled devices, computers, mobile devices, etc - even the lowly PeeCees. I have locations where I have Juniper Networks, as well as Aruba, and a few Netgears - all of them work as they should.
The cheaper routers, Linksys, D-Link, Seimens home units, and many other no name devices have caused issues of various kinds, and even connectivity.
I have no idea what Starbucks uses, but I always have a good connection, and I go there nearly every morning and get some work done, as well as play.
You could try changing channels, 2.4 to 5 Gigs, changing locations of the router. I have had to do all of these at one time or another over the many years that I have been a Network Engineer.

try another cable it's a std cable that most consumer electronic use
if that does not help then I would try to connect it by a microUSB cable to see if I could restore the firmware from a computer running itunes
if that does not help then I would say that the appletv have died

I have the same problem. Apple needs to sort itself out. How they can release such bug ridden upgrades it astounds me for a business of this size. I now can't sync anything since upgrading, and all my photo's and contacts have been deleted.
I use my iphone 5 for business so now I have a mobile device with no contacts and no answer from Apple to the problem. This is so not cool.
Apple needs to notify their customers of these MAJOR issues with 6.1 or retract the update.

Can't clear music from iPhone 4 even though iTunes shows it as empty

I recently switched from a PC to a Macbook Pro (this week, so I am VERY fresh). I followed some online instructions from an apple to transfer my itunes contents to the Mac using an external hard drive. I did everything it said, but when I added the music to the Mac, the music transfered but none of the playlists did. I read on another forum that I could drag and drop the itunes media file directly to itunes. This added all of my music to itunes but no playlists, so I manually recreted the playlists. So now my Mac has all of my music with all of the same playlists and no duplicates. (My books, apps, and pics all transfered as well).
I plugged my iphone 4 into the Mac to sync and everything seemed right, until I went to listen to music on my iphone and all of my playlists were empty - all of my music was still on the iphone, and the playlists were there, but empty. So I read some more forums and did a couple of things they suggested. First was to convert ID3 tags. After doing that, I tried to sync and got an error msg from itunes saying the iphone couldnt sync because it does not have enough space. Second, I tried unchecking all playlists in itunes (which were all still there), syncing, rechecking all playlists, and syncing again. This served to clear the (empty) playlists off the iphone, and then when I tried to sync with them all rechecked in itunes, I got the same error msg - not enough space on the phone.
So this is where I am now - all of my music from my PC is still on my iphone. I have no playlists at all on the iphone. When the iphone is plugged in and I click the arrow to show the music on the iphone it shows that it is empty, but in the summary view, it still shows that the phone is full of music (8gbs or so, the same amount that it was before all of this).
Both the phone and itunes are up to date.
I'm thinking if I can wipe the music off the phone, I should be able to sync and everything will be dandy - but the music just will not leave!
I don't use Match, and when the phone tries to sync vis wifi the same error comes back.
Can anybody help me?? (sorry so long)

Well seeing there was no response here I went ahead and reinstalled the iOS. It fixed the issue.

I have downloaded a game, but it won't sync to my iPod. Even though it shows up on my iTunes. How do I get it to sync?

My problem is pretty much explained in the topic question. But I downloaded a game that was free during a promotion, it downloaded just fine. The app says it is downloaded in the iTunes store, and I can find it in my library. But when I click on Apps in my iPod it's not there. I cannot get it to sync, and it will not let me delete and then redownload the game.

You might have better luck go to the developer's website since it appears to be a problem with the app not with the iPod. Also, the developer would know about updates.

The wierd thing is that a couple of days ago it was working fine, and suddenly overnight it's stopped working.

Noticed by the diagnostic in your post that you dont have admin rights like me so that mite be the problem. Not sure if this is the right solution though.

Hi, I'm working on an Imac, yesterday email was working fine, now nothing is happening. It says that I need a password to check details - this I can't remember, it doesn't seem to be the same as the one I use to log on to mail through browser (talktalk) - message says can connect to internet but error with port settings etc which need verifying. Talktalk unable to help further - but as I can't get past password page I am very stuck. Any one help as to how to find out password.... have tried to make a new account but that doesn't seem to wrok either. Am wondering if fault is with computer. Thanks.

Have a look in Finder Preferences: Click on the desktop, Finder>Finder Preferences.General tab - is there a tick in "External Disks'? If not, tick it.

Mac Mail refusing password on one computer but fine on the other - one running Snow Leopard and the other Lion but been working fine until today

Mac Mail is fine on Lion but on the Snow Leopard computer its rejecting the password - been absolutley fine up until today?

You have been using MobileMe's email settings, which sometimes continue to work for a time after migration but then get turned off. iCloud's mail server settings are different. Strictly speaking Lion 10.7.2 is required for iCloud, and on that Mail is set up automatically.
Snow Leopard cannot access most of iCloud's facilities, however you can set Mail up manually to access your email. The method is described here:

I was researching the issue you describe and found 2 resources that may help. First there is this section from Apple Cinema Display: Troubleshooting steps found here: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT2810
No image on the screen
Make sure the computer is turned on.
Make sure the power cord is plugged in properly.
Make sure the display cables are connected to your computer properly.
Make sure the DVI or Mini DisplayPort display cable is connected securely.
Make sure your computer is not in sleep mode.
Make sure the brightness is set properly. The brightness control is under the right front edge of the display.
Check for and install all available software updates. Software updates may provide solutions to many common issues.
Note: If the display power cord is plugged into a grounded wall outlet or power strip, find out if power to the outlet has been interrupted. You can test the outlet by plugging in something that you know works, like a desk lamp or radio.

AppleTV 2G apparently can't play a MPEG-4 file, even though iTunes can

After spending a couple of hours late at night struggling with this, I just wanted to share the fruits of my labors!
So, when trying to airplay some videos from iTunes to my AppleTV, I kept receiving the error message: "An error occurred loading this content. Try again Later." I tried so many things recommended on this board -- upgrading firmware, changing audio settings, changing HDMI settings and finally, resetting to factory defaults. Nothing helped.
Finally, I noticed that many of my videos did play. The difference between those that did and those that didn't? The ones that worked used the H.264 video codec. The ones that didn't indicated that they are MPEG-4's. Not sure why this is relevant, but there it is.
I should add that my iTunes library is on my NAS -- a Western Digital MyBook World II drive. Can't see why this would affect MPEG-4 versus H.264, but there it is.
By the way, I import all my videos into iPhoto and then have to move them all to iTunes -- an extra step and lots of copying time. Is there a better way to store videos and have them playable via iTunes and AppleTV?

You need to find the specs of the MPEG-4 videos to work out why.
AppleTV 2 has limited format support as detailed here:

MPEG-4 video up to 2.5 Mbps, 640 by 480 pixels, 30 frames per second, Simple Profile with AAC-LC audio up to 160 Kbps, 48kHz, stereo audio in .m4v, .mp4, and .mov file formats
Motion JPEG (M-JPEG) up to 35 Mbps, 1280 by 720 pixels, 30 frames per second, audio in ulaw, PCM stereo audio in .avi file format
I would guess the MPEG-4 videos are higher resolution or worng profile.
