I've wiped hard drive and need to start in OS9: Disk Install won't let me

I've just erased my hard drive according to the instructions at http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=152060
Now I'm looking at Choose Startup Disk and the option is Network Startup and Mac OSX 10/3/5 from the install disc.
I want the iMac to run on OS9 and I have the original Software Install and Software Restore disks. What do I do now

Towards the end of the OS9 install I get "An error has stopped the installation process. Some software has not been installed. What do you want to do?
Try to install Mac OS Runtime for Java again
Skip installing Mac OS Runtime for Java
Stop the entire installation process"

Be carefull with what you delete & have a backup BEFORE you start, you may also want to reboot to try to free any memory that may have been written to disk.

IPhoto Library moved to External Hard Drive and need help moving library

Hi - Recently I had my hard drive replaced. I purchased Disk Warrior and moved all files to my external hard drive. Now that my hard drive has been replaced, I'm having trouble moving all my photos back to iPhoto. Nearly all of my 8K+ photos are blurry after I import and enlarge. The ones that are fine have dimensions of or more than 1K x 1K. The digital photos that I moved and are blurry when enlarged are 340x360 (hundreds range). How can I correct?

I think I might need to back up ---- So I had a failing hard drive, went to Apple and purchased Disk Warrior. Installed Disk Warrior and tried to recover everything from my hard drive. Then all that was recovered was supposedly moved to my external hard drive. I have now received my computer back with the new hard drive. I plug in my external hard drive and have been trying to move all my images from the external hard drive to iphoto. In both places (external HD and when the photos are imported), the image is at the lower dimensions.

Wiped hard drive and tried to reinstall Mountain Lion but it installed Lion instead.

Everything was fine except that it was going slow from 2 years worth of clutter. I wiped the hard drive and continued on with the installation instructions without noticing until now that it installed Lion instead of Mountain Lion. What do I do? If I have to reinstall, I'd rather not have to download it again. I have it on my external hard drive but it won't show up since I did all this.

To install OS X Mountain Lion, open the Mac App Store, log in with your Apple ID, go to Purchases and download OS X Mountain Lion. If you have a USB drive with Mountain Lion, you can use it to upgrade to OS X Mountain Lion

I want to use elements 11 with an external hard drive and need some help.

I have a macbook pro and was fine using iphoto 09 as my image manager and editor. I soon filled my hard drive and purchased a 1tb external hard drive. I moved my iphoto library to the external drive while keeping iphoto on the macbook. I recently installed elements 11 and was using it as an external editor with iphoto. I began to play around with the organizer and found that I liked it. My question is how do I move my iphoto library to elements 11 organizer while still keeping the photos on the external hard drive.

If you import from iPhoto into Elements Organizer, the files will be copied to your hard disk and all the organization done in iPhoto09 will be carried forward to Organizer catalog. This can be done if you have enough space on your hard disk. However if you want to use Organizer solely + not create duplicate copies of your images, you can import photos directly from the Hard Disk. Ensure to write all metadata to files within iPhoto so that when the same photos are imported into Organizer, the tagging done is brought along.

I swapped out my hard drive and need to get the new computer to recognize it

my hp died, and i had to take the hard drive and swap it out to a new computer. Right now it is in an external case hooked up to laptop via USB - no expansion slots. . the laptop will not recognize it, it only sees the recovery partition. How can i work around tyhios to get the files moved over?

That's true because it still has some sorts of "signature" on it. My suggestion use other computer and reassign its C: to something then try again. I used to swap HDD's nearly every month and noticed this.

Wiping Hard Drive and Reinstalling Mountain Lion?

So I have a lot of, to be quite frank, crap on my MacBook. It's the 128GB model, meaning I can't have too much stuff on it. This used to be my only computer but over the summer I built a new one that has a whole TB+ of space on it so I've been wanting to wipe my MacBook clean. I have one issue - how do I get OS X back on here? There isn't anything on it that I'd like to save. I've tried the OS X Recovery application but it was installing OS X Lion on my little USB drive. I'm using OS X Mountain Lion though and I don't want to downgrade then have to purchase Mountain Lion even though it came pre-installed. So I'm basically asking:
1) Are there any other methods of installing OS X Mountain Lion back on my clean MacBook?
2) How exactly do I go about wiping the Drive anyway?
Please explain everything in detail so I know for sure I'm not doing anything wrong. Thanks in advance!

I am trying to back up my Flip videos from my MacBook OS X 10.5.8 on to my external hard drive. They will not drop & drag directly from the flipshare software and I did locate all the mp4 files in my finder under "All Videos" where I think I can copy them over but they are not organized by title or anything and I only want to back up the clips I've edited and the movies I've created, not all the raw footage.
I'm wondering if I'm going to have to import all of these files into iMovie in order to do this in a way that will be helpful? that seems like it will take forever since *I think* you have to do them one at a time and I have almost 2 years of footage of my kids...Is there a quick way to import video into iMovie?
Side bar, anyone know of a good video camera that is small & easy like Flip but not part of a phone? My flip has died & since Cisco is abandoning the brand, I need something new.

I need to install CS6 on a replacement hard drive and need help with deactivation/reactivation

I have had a major hard drive crash that is resulting in my replacing the drive in my Mac with a new one, then re-installing my programs onto it. I have a copy of CS6 on the current bad hard drive that is activated. Do I need to deactivate it before installing it on my new hard drive even though it will be on the same computer, just a different hard drive? If so, how can I deactivate it when the drive the Creative Suite is on is bad? Is there a place on Adobe's website that I can log in and manage my activations if I have to deactivate in order to put CS6 on my replacement drive?

hi. I have the exact same problem. I'm getting the 'configuration' error, and my uninstall application for each application with CS6 'can't be found' since it is apparently an alias. I'm not getting any answers from Adobe and getting frustrated. Would simply like to know how to uninstall or start from scratch. I'll let you know if I hear anything. New hard drive and need to restore from time capsule

I replaced my hard drive with a new 1TB drive. Now I need to retore everything from my Apple time capsule. I'm having some trouble doing so. I first booted up with the new drive and selected restore from back up under disk utility and everything seemed to be going fine until I had to restart the computer when it was finished. When I did, I got the "panic" error and the computer wouldn't boot up in any mode (ie safe mode). I then started holding C button to start with the operating disk in and at set it up that way. My back up stuff is on there somewhere because 150GB is being used but my computer looks like it just came out tf the box. I also did a upgrade to Lion last year, How do I get that back?

Macbook pro, 17 inch, early 2010. Hard drive crashed so I put in new ssd hard drive. Operating system OS X 10.9.4 has been installed.
