am not very clear with your requirement,
but since its a billing block, it could be credit memo workflow, where on creation of a credit note, the bill gets blocked and requires an approval to post it.
Hope it helps.

I want to create File to RFC scenario with no BPM. I want to invoke RFC synchronously to verify that I'm getting correct response back, but i dont wanna process the response. So, In SXMB_MONI i can check the response back from RFC right? Or do I need to have BPM if want to see the response back from RFC?
What kind of business system i need to create for RFC? can i use same business system for both File and RFC? I'm using one Business System created on Third party technical system, which i'm using for file Input, also for RFC. Is that OK?

Steps required in File to Idoc Scenario

Hey guys i m doin a file to Idoc scenario and just wanna make sure my steps r correct.
steps done on the XI server
1.Create RFC destination(test the destination by giving the target host as the R/3 server).
2.Create port for the RFC destination.
steps on the R/3 side
1.Create/verify logical system name.
and finally create business system for this logical system in SLD.
now do i need to do partner profile as well or not? and if i have to do it how is it accomplished.

i m new to XI,
i wanna make a test scenario for idoc-XI-file...
i donno what an idoc is.......
tell me how to create an idoc from the very basics....like message type, segment, partner profile, port creation, etc,..... and how to fire an idoc from the R3 system to my XI system,
and ofcourse... ican do the rest of mapping and all, with the file message type

SM59 - Maintain RFC destination,
IDX1 - Maintaining port for XI
IDx2 - Loading the Idocstructure into metadata repository

ALE/IDOC and RFC/BAPI Integration Scenarios with SAP DS for ESA v3

Hi,
we are planning two PoCs of Integration Plattforms. One of our major requirement set is SAP Integration into our existing SOA.
Because we also have R/3 4.7 Systems in production, we are planning to test ALE/IDOC and RFC/BAPI Integration scenarios with these Integration Plattforms.
My question is:
We are looking for are smart solution to get a SAP Test Environment, where we can test ALE/IDOC und RFC/BAPI Integration scenarios.
It is possible to do this with SAP DS for ESA v3 or shall we better use IDES for that purpose?

This is our scenario. We are doing an integration of SAP HR r/3 system with the CRM system. We need housing information details of the employees which we have in custom infotype 9310 in SAP HR system and we need those details in the CRM system. So am planning out for an ALE/IDOC approach for the integration and gonna maintain the 9310 details in a custom table. In the CRM system, we gonna build a BOL layer for accessing the 9310 details. Also i'm preparing a HLD for this process. I wanna read and go through few same HLD's before i submit my proposal to my client. Please suggest me and help me out.

BAPI to File Scenario

I am new for XI, pls help me to sort out the queries given below:
1. Can u all help me out for step by step procedure to be followed for BAPI to File Scenario. (Guide me all configuration step to be performed in R/3 & XI)
2. Also, pls tell me how to configure BAPI in ALE (I am using BAPI_GOODMVT_CREATE)
3. Also, guide me in Value mapping in XI. (Eg: if the value is A then it should call BAPI_GOODMVT_CREATE, if the value is D then it should call BAPI_GOODMVT_DELETE and if it is U then BAPI_GOODMVT_CHANGE) - Give me code if it is necessary in case of JAVA mapping.
I will appreciate you for quick response and solve my probs.

1) Go to transaction sm59.
2) Give some name.
3) Connection type TCP/IP.
4) Activation Type Registered Server Program.
5) Give some programid. You have to use this program id in RFC sender communication channel.
6) In gateway host give the host name of R/3.Give gateway service.
Before testing this connection create a RFC sender communication channel in XI.There specify the parameters like R/3 hostname,program id created above, authorization credentials for R/3 etc.Then activate the communication channel.Then test your TCP/IP connection in R/3. You have to test connection only after you create RFC CC in XI because it will go and check for the program id in XI.
You will need to schedule a JOB in your R3 system that will call the RFC during every time perdiod.
Also, guide me in Value mapping in XI. (Eg: if the value is A then it should call BAPI_GOODMVT_CREATE, if the value is D then it should call BAPI_GOODMVT_DELETE and if it is U then BAPI_GOODMVT_CHANGE) - Give me code if it is necessary in case of JAVA mapping.
Your requirement can be easily met using the Extended Reciever determination that we have...
Here actually based on condition from the message in the payload u can assign your receivers..
Below is the steps to do the same...
Under Receiver Determination --> Configured Receivers --> Specify the 2 receivers and beside the same you have an option called condition, there you specify the condition on which it has to go to the first system and then the condition on which it has to go to the second system.
When you click on the codition it will open another window (Condition Editor window) under which you have a Left Operand which when you click will open up another window(Expression Editor window), there for your need you check on the XPath radio button and then click on the field whose value you wanna check from the structure that it displays, when you click on the field it fills in the XPath Expression, then click ok.
After that it takes you back to the previous window(Condition Editor window) with the Left Operand having the XPath Expression, so all you will have to do is to fill the Right Operand which is nothing but the value you want that field to contain.(For Example if a field "A" that you have selected which comes in the XPath Expression in ur Left Operand,has a value "1" in your Right Operand)
There you also have an option to put in an "and" or an "or" condition if required(For Example if you wanna check if "A" and "B" is satisfied or it you wanna check if "A" or "B" is satisfied, this can also be done)

Acknowledgement from a BPE fails inside an IDoc to BPE-scenario

we have PI/7.0 SPS 10.
My scenario is quite simple: IDOC --> BPE (in XI) --> IDOC back to R3
Everything works good ... besides the acknowledgements.
I'm getting the error message

I know, that the integration process has no logical system - that's true!
I know, that for "normal" IDocs sending from a BPE to SAP/R3, I can use a header mapping to enter a correct logical system.
But how can I do it with acknowledgements. Inside the PE I wanna send a transport acknowledgement back to R3.
Where can I enter a logical system for a BPE?
I tried to enter the logical system in the "adapterspecific ident." of the BPE - but it's not possible to enter a logical system two times (the logical system was already in use).
Afterwards I run the report IDX_NOALE to disable acknowledgements - works fine, but my boss wanna see the acknowledgements
What can I do?

Hi,
There is an option in the Receiver IDOC adapter called, Restore Original Parties For Idoc Acknowledgements . Have not tried this, but I think this option wil be able to help you out.
Restoring Original Partners for Acknowledgments
If you set the relevant indicator, the original partners from the IDoc request message are used for acknowledgments. This means you no longer have to maintain the alternative identifiers (for party conversion) in the Integration Directory.

Dynamic receiver Determination for Sync Scenario??

Hello Experts,
I have a SOAP -> Xi -> R3 sync scenario i,e, R3 to send back response to SOAP client.
Also I need the Dynamic receiver determination.
When I try to create the Interface Mapping, I get the error:
"Interface modi are different. "
Source interface MI_My_sync_iface is synchronous.
Target interface ReceiverDetermination | http://sap.com/xi/XI/System is asynchronous
I coud find few threads on forum related to this but i think there is no clear solution provided.
I do not wanna use BPM.
Please suggest.

You are getting this error because in Interface mapping when you use sync source then it generates request and response tab so if at target side if you put anync interface then definetly it will go into error. You have to make both the interfaces as sync.
BTW, after getting the message in R3, how are processing the message? Are you using sync proxy??
You can solve the problem by creating one additional message interface of type inbound-asyn. Use this additional Message interfce in your Interface Determination. And create additional Receiver Agreement to deliver the message to it's destination.
Note: When you careate additional Interface Determination then you have to chose the response message interface (Sync message interface which returns the response from R3) as a source.

How to restrict no of records in synch Proxy - HTTP_AAE scenario

Hi Experts,
We are having one synchronous interface. Proxy to HTTP_AAE.
But while going for the first run, the interface takes huge amount of data, payload size is ~10MB.
So it ends up in choking the end system as well time out occurs in PI.
We have tried increasing the Timeout parameter in NWA, but no help.
Tried limiting the no of records @ Mapping, but as its a synch interface multi-mapping is not allowed.
And I couldn't find any parameters to limit it @ Adapter level.
Is there a way to send the request in chunks.

Hi Ashu.
That´s a conceptual point. PI was not made to transfer huge amount of data at once, especially when it requires mappings between source and target. When mapping is not required in PI 7.31+ there are some improvements to have big files being transferred by SAP PI (but without mapping). Check it out in other threads.
For your case, what I suggest is to break your message functionally as first option. If it uses a job to trigger the message, try to create N jobs varying the variants and then instead of having 1 message with 10MB, you can have 10 messages of 1MB for example.
If functional break is not possible, try to create a kind of "cockpit" where the ABAP program break the messages at maximum number of messages that your PI server can handle and then ABAP program can control how many time it calls SAP PI.
However, I don't encourage you proceeding with Sync scenario as you´re not sure about the volumetrics. Sync interface requires a lot of logs space tables as well as lots of Basis activities to keep the system healthy.
Why not work with Assync scenarios with well alerts configured? Or in worst case if you really wanna a very deep control, implement a BPM to get back the ack and you will be sure that the message arrived well at other side.
If they were loaded into the target system successfully, functionally speaking, it´s another subject to deal with.
That´s my thoughts about that.

What can I do in this recovery scenario?

I'm testing some recovery scenario and I have problem with the one:
I do full backup of the database with archivelog and controlfiles.
Then I deleted all the datafiles, controlfiles and redologs.
Now I wanna restore my database.
I did shutdown abort first
and then
rman target /
RMAN> set dbid
RMAN> startup nomount;
RMAN> restore controlfile from autobackup
RMAN> alter database mount;
RMAN> restore database;
Now - what can I do to recover the database? I don't have online redo logs - the were all lost.
I can't just do
RMAN> restore database cause I get an error that the redo log with seq number 94 is missing (RMAN-06054).
If I want to restore my db until sequence 94 I get another error : data file 1 must be restored from backup older than scn 1024203.
But this was my first backup, I don't have an older one.
What can I do in this case?

Are you getting an error during restore or recover?
for incomplete recovery, try:
STARTUP MOUNT
RECOVER DATABASE UNTIL CANCEL
CANCEL
ALTER DATABASE OPEN RESETLOGS;

Can't find Set type when maintain Product Category in Local Scenarios

We use SRM7.0 in Local Scenarios. Just create local material.
Our developer made a 'Product Categories mass inport programme' , but for some unexpected reasons, we cann't check or edit original prodcuct categories. so I have to create new product category manually.
When i create prodcut , i get a error message ' Data cannot be maintained for set type COMM_PR_SHTEXT . ' So i wanna add set types 'COMM_PR_SHTEXT' to this product category. but i cann't find this set type in the list whiche ever exist !
which i can find in the list show below:
      CALL_FWD_TD
      COMM_PR_GTIN
      COM_COMMERCIAL
      COM_TA_R3_ID
      CRMM_PR_TAX
      GSM_PHONE_TD
      ISPS_MARA
what should i to do, make the set type 'COMM_PR_UNIT' , ' COMM_PR_SHTEXT ' and some 'Z_xx_settype'... can be used.

Reg combining two scenarios in PI7.3

Hi Experts,
My scenario has two flows:
1) File is sent from third party and placed in ECC directory
2) Once the file is placed RFC program should be triggered.
I have configured the file transfer for the first flow. Can any one let me know how to combine this with the second flow where the file once placed in AL11, how the RFC should be triggered from PI to ECC without BPM.

You can also think for this approach to satisfy your requirement:
Solution A:
1. Process the file from the third party
2. create a Wrapper program to pick the file from the folder and execute the RFC.
Solution B:
1. Process the file from the third Party
2. Configure the receiver as a EOIO, and configure the RFC later to the 1 st message.

Problem with scenario

i want help regarding a scenario
our client is a metal ind. they have two plants , they do make to order scenario
in this scenario they purchase mat. at plant a and make a semifinished product then this semi fin product is sent to plant b and then there it converted to fin product
now our clint dont wanna show the plant 2 he wanna treate it as a subcontractor that is also without payment can we do it so
plz help for scenario
we tried it as free goods trasfer but problem is with legecy so plz help

Just create your 2nd plat as an subcontract vendor and make do the subcontract scenario.
See if the material is excisable in that case you can also send your material in 57f4 challan but you should have two excise groups in that for each plant. Just check with your CIN cons because i belive the material as you told its an steel indus it should be excisable.
So you need an S/C challan to move the goods from one plant to another.
