I want a Batch Processing feature!

I have soundbooth CS3 - but i REALLY need a batchprocessing feature. canty find it in CS3, will it be in CS4?
Specifically i need:
1) batch normalization
2) batch trim (begining and end)
3) batch file format conversion

Hi,
Soundbooth CS4 doesn't yet have dedicated Batch processing functionality, however it does offer Batch Volume Equalization and Matching. Adobe Audition does offer comprehensive batch processing which can address all the needs you've listed.

    One of the available commands in the Action Wizard is Print (under the More
    Tools sub-section). You create a new Action, add that command and then run
    it on your files to print them all.

  • Automator query: I want to batch process with a program that doesn't offer batch processing.

    After much searching and experimenting I'm resorting to asking the direct question to see if you good folks can help me.
    I would like to be able to automate some image processing with the software "SketchMee". Unfortunately this is not something that the stand alone can do on it's own. I assume Otto can help me. I would like to essentially have a directory with "raw" (unprocessed) images. Have automator...
    1. open file in SketchMee (SketchMee will automatically render with previous settings)
    2. save new file in new directory
    3. repeat 100's and/or 1000's of times.
    Seems pretty straight forward but I'm having trouble making it happen.
    Does anyone have any advice or info for me here?
    Note: this is not a process that can be done in iPhoto, Photoshop or Graphics Convertor.

    Way better, IMHO of course, is Photoshop Elements.  It is not free but you can find deals on it but if not it really isn't too expensive.  For the amateur or advanced amateur it is far better than DPP (free included software) and even Lightroom.
    Lightroom is designed more for a person that takes 1000's and 10,000's of photos.  It has limited editing featuers.
    PSE is also more user friendly that full blown Photoshop.  Which you can not purchase any longer as it must be rented from Abode on a monthly basis.
    There is the free Gimpshop but it is the least user friendly of the bunch and has a steep learning curve.  But it is free.
    Lightzone is a free copy-cat version of Lightroom.
    But when you are ready for the best photo editing and RAW conversion software there is, there is nothing at the top except Photoshop.

  • Batch processing different files or not?

    Hello, I would like to know if It's possible to batch processing feature with the Acrobat standard version 9.
    I want to securize a bund of pdf files from their filename. What's the best version to deploy this subject, standard or professional? I'd like to do a similar shell where I can define a password per file and to establish a security policy.
    Do I need the SDK or API or only needed Acrobat Professional?
    How can I realize this one?
    How would you do that?
    Thanks

    Hello, ok, then I must adquire the Professional version. Even so, I'd like to know if it's possible secure the collection files with different passwords in an unique process with other ways, ie. from SDK that's free now... or the best good option is batch processing with Professional edition.
    In other words, Do exist other ways to do it that I haven't contemplated yet?
    Thanks!

  • Batch Processing multiple page pdf

    Using Batch Processing in Acrobat I would like to:
    Extract as single pages from a multiple page pdf.
    I want the resulting pdfs renamed with page numbers. The first few pages of the pdf are roman numeral pages (index) then the rest of the pages would start as page 1 through 99999
    So that the end result would be
    page I_filename.pdf
    page II_filename.pdf
    page III_filename.pdf
    page 1_filename.pdf
    page 2_filename.pdf
    page 3_filename.pdf ect....
    Can someone help?

    Adobe Acrobat Pro has a batch process feature.
    You choose files or a folder with these image files.
    You may apply commands like "Recognize Text (using OCR)" for all chosen files.
    Than all files may be saved as PDF.

  • Problem w/ Batch Process

    I have been able to convert .pdf files to .tif files by using the Batch Sequence Command "Export All Images As Tiff", but I'm having one issue with the resulting file.  When the original file is a 5 page multi sheet .pdf - the batch process creates 5 single page .tiff documents.  I would like to get 1 multi sheet .tif from every 1 multi sheet .pdf.  I really don't want to have to go that extra step and have to combine the 5 files into 1 multi sheet .tif.  I'm dealing with over 100,000 documents, and that would result into too much time spent.
    Is it possible to create 1 multi sheet .tif from 1 multi sheet .pdf using the batch process feature in Adobe Acrobat Pro v.9?
    Also, while using the above mentioned Command - I'm prompted to hit ok for each file i'm converting.  This really takes away the usefullness of a "batch process"
    Any help with these two issues would be much appreciated.

    Honyk,
    I will look into what you suggested.  I'm not experienced with that much scripting, but i might have to give it a try.
    Thank's for your suggestion,

  • Batch Processing Recursively

    I have just started to play with the batch processing feature of Acrobat Pro v.6 on Windows.
    I wanted to update the "Title" info inside the "Document Properties" area for a bunch of files that get indexed by our search appliance. Our naming convention is like this...
    08^The_Name_of_The_File.pdf
    The first part before the ^ is to help a PHP script display the directory contents in a way we can control. The rest just uses "_" to separate words.
    I have a working script to turn the above into...
    "The Name of The File"
    In the Doc Properties area, just like I want, but to run this, I have to select each directory one at a time. Is there some way to run this batch option at a starting directory, all the way down the tree?
    I've been searching around and it looks like there may be third party apps available, but nothing built in. If that's the case, any recommendations would be appreciated.
    D.

    I don't think so. An alternative to a batch sequence would be an external program or script that uses IAC (InterApplication Communications, see Acrobat SDK) methods to make the changes you want.

  • Disable all informations (popups, alerts etc.) during batch process

    Hey! I'm using Acrobat 6.0 and the open all batch process to convert various office documents. For each document I have to agree to some alerts like "The document was changed. Do you want to save it" or "Acrobat can't save bookmarks beacause..." - or something like that... I think everybody can imagine what I mean and it doesn't matter what exactly is the content of these popups...
    My question: Is there a posibility to turn off all these messages? Maybe with some lines of JavaScript Code? Or pipe these messages to a text file instead of showing it on the screen?

    Thanks for your answer. I mean both things, although I haven't yet a JS function so I prefer the feature Batch Processing which is part of Acrobat 6.0
    Unfortunately the "Save warnings and errors in log file" preference doesn't work. I think the problem is, that these errors are special Batch Error. But this isn't what I mean...
    I will now describe exactly my problem. I'm using Acrobat 6.0 and MS Excel 2003. With several Makros I created special Excel files. With some (not all) tables in the Excel file I made a group (because I want to convert only these tables...)
    When I start the batch processing, the following messages appears (which I have to accept or deny... this is exactly what I want to disappear because with these messages I haven't any automatism or real "batch processing"....)
    1. After starting the batch process, first message...
    ::Acrobat PDFMaker::
    Acrobat PDFMaker have to save the document before continue. Should PDFMaker save this document and continue?
    2. ...and then after some seconds...
    ::Acrobat PDFMaker::
    'Name of my table' - Acrobat PDFMaker can make Tags, Bookmarks and Links only for tables with the printable area "Whole Table". Delete in the section "Page settings" the field "printable are" to avoid this problem.
    Would you like to continue and create a PDF File without Tags?
    3. .. and finally Excel also have a message for me:
    ::Microsoft Excel::
    Save all changes in 'Name of my Excel file'?
    After that the first PDF is successfully created. Then it happens something really strange. I can see in my Acrobat the little window with:
    'Name of my Excel File', 2 from 2
    (-a progress bar is shown with 50%-)
    Please wait. Adobe PDF is making.: 100%
    and then i can wait and wait and wait... But nothing more wil happens! :(
    Any idea to solve these problems?
    To implement the batch processing feature in an own JS function... How difficult is it? Are there any examples/experiences? And the most important thing: can i really disappear the popup messages?
    Thanks and sorry for my english... ;)

  • Automate (batch process) other than from default list?

    I really admire the batch process feature that lets me automate functions. The problem is, I want to do something with a single page PDF that is not on the list; Save as TIFF. This is very common in my work environment, and time consuming. Any way to automate this that does not involve a feature request?
    It seems to me that the equivalent feature in Photoshop (Record) is much more flexible.

    Sure it's available. In Acrobat Pro XI add a Save command to your Action
    and then click on Specify Settings and select "Export files to alternate
    format" and select TIFF from the drop-down list.

  • PSE 4 -- batch processing images

    I just returned from a sailing trip and I want to send some of my photos to friends. It their original form, the pics are huge. I want to resized 150 photos to a single photo size and dpi. Do I have to do each individually or does PSE 4.0 have a "batch" processing feature where I can resize many photos with one command set? Thanks

    If you are on Windows, you can use File/Export in Organizer or you can use the File/Process Multiple Files facility in Editor. On Mac, you only have the latter option.
    You say you want to set the "dpi". Actually it is "ppi". Why do you need to set that? Are you sending them for printing? If they are only for screen viewing, PPI is irrelevant.

  • Add layers from other psd file and retain text layers (Batch processing)

    I want to batch process a large number of portraits adding text info from the filename (year_name_number.jpg) to existing text layers. I want to make a template psd file containg the correct labeled text layers formatted and adjusted (With bleding effects and more) How can i add layers from an other psd file to the active document and retaining the text layers editable. The place command in PS5 adds the file as a smart object, no use.
    Any ideas?
    I tried the combined action/script way, but no joy so far. Right now i am making the text layers with a action, then calling the script from the action. It works but its difficult to make different templates from adjusting a action.
    The code i am using now (in combination with a action creating the 3 text layers and other grapchical elements)
    var docRef = activeDocument;
    // strip the extension off
    var fileNameNoExtension = docRef.name;
    fileNameNoExtension = fileNameNoExtension.split( "_" );
    if ( fileNameNoExtension.length > 1 ) {
                    fileNameNoExtension.length--;
    fileNameNoExtension = fileNameNoExtension.join("_");
    var myString = fileNameNoExtension;
    var mySplitResult = myString.split("_");
    var textLayer = docReflayers['Year']; // define the existing text layer to a var
    docRef.activeLayer = textLayer;
    textLayer.kind = LayerKind.TEXT;
    var T1 = textLayer.textItem;
    T1.contents = mySplitResult[0]
    var textLayer = docRef.layers['Name']; // define the existing text layer to a var
    docRef.activeLayer = textLayer;
    textLayer.kind = LayerKind.TEXT;
    var T2 = textLayer.textItem;
    T2.contents = mySplitResult[1]
    var textLayer = docRef.layers['Number']; // define the existing text layer to a var
    docRef.activeLayer = textLayer;
    textLayer.kind = LayerKind.TEXT;
    var T3 = textLayer.textItem;
    T3.contents = mySplitResult[2]

    Here is my intended workflow:
    - A set of same size portraits labeled "year_name_number.jpg"
    - A template.psd os same size with graphical elements and text layers (named "year", "name" and "number")
    - A script or action copy/pasting og adding all layers from the template.psd file to the open portrait file, retaining text layers editable.
    - A script (The one i have working) changing the text layers added from the template to text from the filename.
    - A action saving this as a PDF ready for print.
    This way i can process a large number of portraits, add names and other information and save it as a file ready for print.
    I can image it is much easier to edit a template than writing a script or an action creating all the graphical elements.
    And even better, to change this template for different customers/departments/logos.
    Basically i need a way to add layers to an open file using a batch file or script.

    OK I understand what your trying to do and now I do not agree with your conclusion you made in you first append about place being no good for you.  Its is I think a perfect solution for you. I feel you need to address the process from a new angle.
    I am very familiar with templates I use them all the time for collages which I populate with an actions.  However I do not batch this process and my process is interactive.  If you look at what your trying to do from the angle of creating a collage.  You will see what you are trying to do is automate the population of a single image collage using a single template in a batch process.  An example of one of my single image collage populated by one of my actions that has been saved as a jpeg image file.  My actions are played in Photoshop with no document opened.  After my action is play there is a single collage document in Photoshop that contains layers that can be tweaked all text is in text layers the can be edited.
    If I wanted to automate the batch population of a single collage template I think all I would need to know is three thing.
    1.) The location of the input images
    2.) The full Path of the PSD template file.
    3.) The location to store the output  file
    Looking at some of the recent threads in this forum I could almost cut and past the script you want to put  together.  There was a recent thread that had javascript code to process files in a folder and process only a list of file types.   There also was a thread that had a place function in it to place images into the current document or create a new document to place the image into.  The image was read from the web using a URL.  This thread has code to change a text layer.  At first I though you may need to open these image file to get at its meta-data to get the Portrait image Exif creation data.  But see all you need is the Filename for it has the data you want the year and name.  So the function that get the image files from the folder will give you that. The   Script needs to Open the Template PSD file and retrieve the prototype text layers text content  then the scrip needs a loop that get the next image file to be processed from the folder get filename function. In the loop the image files are place into the open template above a place holder layer like the Background layer. Then using the prototype text contents and the filename are used  create the new content for the text layer and then change the text layers content to it.  Follow that up with a save as for the output file.  Once the output file is saved delete the placed smart object layer.  When this loop ends the script will close the document with no save and end. As for the three inputs you need  the script could either have a dialog like the images processor or simply prompt you for the folders and template file.

  • Acrobat stripping out clipping paths from jpegs in batch processing

  • DVDSP preset question with batch processing.

    I hope someone can help.
    When I drag my files that I want to batch process, where I can
    choose the output, for example DVD HD, etc.
    These presets have different times with them for video, like 120, 190, or even 30.
    My question is, what is the difference between them? Does any of them produce better quality of the video?
    My video files are .avi files and run about 30 minutes.
    Also, does it matter which I choose as far as HD DVD, DVD best quality, etc., if these are already .avi files or just choose DVD HD and have the best quality possible?
    Thank you for any help that is given.

    About the numbers, the 30, 120, 190, etc. What do
    those numbers mean?
    Are they minutes? And if they are minutes, does that
    mean it goes by how a regular dvd has minutes on it
    or does it go by how long each file is, or total size
    of project?
    What those numbers mean are the amount of material that will fit on a DVD-5 based on the encoding settings, so in other words if you choose 120 it means that about 2 Hrs of running time of video will fit on the DVD encoded at that rate. Normal and high quality are whether it is a one pass or two pass
    I am still a little confused.
    I have 10 .avi files. Each one is about 30 minutes
    long and is about 300mb.
    I am unsure on what video setting or settings to use
    that will allow me to have at least the same quality
    as the files already are.
    Encoding will reduce the quality, sometimes you may notice, other times not, but you have about 6 hours worth of material there. Depedning on what it is you can make a DVD-9, but unless it is very low motion probably not a DVD-5 (Also 300 Megs for 30 minutes of material (and I have not looked at new avi codecs recently) sounds like the material is already compressed heavily
    To give you a rough idea, DV which is what comes from many consumer cameras with firewire, is compressed at a rate of about 5:1 already, and 9 minutes 20 seconds is just shy of 2 Gigs, so 30 minutes would be in the area of 6 Gigs of DV (or about 18 times the size of your files)
    i have already done the audio portion of each file so
    the video portions are all I need to do now.
    Best thing to do is play with the settings, test small sections where there is less motion and more motion. In general 2-Pass is going to provide you with better results than one pass

  • Batch process with History Command

    I want to batch process to resize pictures and have a final product as follows:
    Size: 220 x 140 (this detail is not important, but should be cosistant throughout).
    The final image has a feather of 10 pixels on all sides.
    I tried using the History steps in which I first resized the image to desired dimensions and to achieve the feather effect I used a mask (paste as mask from the Edit menu in Fireworks cs4) using a white rectangle 5 px smaller on all sides (210 x 130) with a feather = 10px.
    I saved the history as a command, but it does not run because it has difficulties recording steps where I have to tamper the rectangle (size, align, move etc.).
    Another problem is that resizing the image does not honour the height consistently (but the proportions) which causes a problem with the rectangle size used for masking.
    I don't mind doing this in 2 or 3 separate runs, but the final style of images should be with a feathered edge.
    Would really appreciate some expert advice to run the process/es to achieve the required result.
    Thank you!

  • LR Enfuse Problem - Batch Processing Doesn't work

    Hi,
    I'm relativley new to Lightroom - and am trying to learn about Enfusing multiple different exposures.
    I've followed all the instructions to the letter, and I'm able to enfuse great looking shots if I do them 1 group at a time. However, I've taken heaps of bracketed shots, and want to 'Batch Process' them.
    LR/Enfuse appears to have the functionality, and plenty of people online seem to be able to make it work. But even when I stack each bracketed shot, and select all. It still comes up with the error message below:
    "No Stacks
    No Stacks containing selected photos were found.  If you are trying to blend the selected images then please turn off the batch mode option."
    Any ideas? I'm using Lightroom 5.2
    Cheers, Thomas

    Hi,
    I am not sure what operating system you are using, I don't have any problems with Win 7 x64, but if you are using Apple OS there may be issues with permissions on the folders you are using e.g. the folder for temporary files.
    You may also want to look at his tutorial http://digital-photography-school.com/save-time-with-batch-exposure-blending but disregard the Auto Stacking explained as it is difficult to get it to work.
    I am not sure but it looks as though the stacks in the image you posted are expanded. Make sure the individual stacks are collapsed.
    Apart from that I just don't know as it works fine for me.
