  • HP Color Laser Jet CM1312fi MFP- My printer is not Wireless-C​apable.

    I used to print remotely through my wireless modem/router (printer was connect to router by USB and we could print from our wireless capable laptops from anywhere in the house)  but now I can't remember how to set it up....
    I connected the wireless router to the printer with a USB cable.  It seems like it was pretty easy when I set it up before but making the router to printer connection itself didn't do the trick.  Do I need to re-load the printer's software on my computer (and on my office partner's computer) as a "Network" printer?
    Am I making this more difficult than it should be?
    If the answer was on the HP website, I couldn't find it.  The wireless page talks about hardwiring the printer to the router, but doesn't say how to make the printer respond...
    (I know that our next printer will be wireless, but why should I throw out a perfectly good printer before it becomes a necessity?)

    You need to connect your printer to your router with an Ethernet cable, not a USB cable.
    Then, go to all of the PCs and go to Start > Control Panel > Printers and delete all old instances of the printer.
    Finally,:
    1. Make sure the printer is turned on and connected to your network. Verify that you can access the printer's internal web page by browsing to its IP address before continuing.
    2. Click >> Start >> Control panel >> Printers.
    3. Click the Add a printer
    4. Select Local printer
    5. Select Create a new port and select Standard TCP/IP Port and click Next button.
    6. Under Device type, select TCP/IP Device. Under Hostname or IP address, enter the printer's IP address. Click Next.
    7. Select Hewlett-Packard from the list of manufacturers and select and select your printer model. Click Next.
    If your printer model was not listed, then select Have Disk, browse the HP CD that came with your printer and select the first file that starts with hp and ends with inf. Click Open then OK. Select your printer model. Click Next.
    8. If you are asked, use the currently installed driver.
    9. It will ask for the Printer name -- enter a new name or use the existing one. This will be the name of the printer that you select from other applications.
    10. You may be asked to share the printer. Choose NO.
    11. The Print Test Page box appears. Go ahead and print it.
    12. Click Finish.

  • I have o s x 10.7.5 using hp laser jet all in one 3050 printer. when using google chrome I can't print. works with safari.

    When using google chrome I am unable to print from this search engine. I can print from Safari.

    If the printer works with Safari and other programs, then the problem is with Chrome. Ask their tech support for help.

  • Any idea why I can't print using Photoshop Elements 13 and an HP Color Laser Jet printer?

    Windows 7 with Photoshop Elements 13 - Recently purchased Elements 13 and haven't been able to print!  I have an HP Color Laser Jet CMI1312nfi MFP and printed fine last year with a trial version of Elements 12.  I keep getting errors saying "the saved print information is an incompatible version.  It has been set to default values" as well as "default printer could not be opened."  I downloaded an update to the driver for the printer today but still no luck.   Any other ideas? 

    I ended up reinstalling the drivers for the Canon from the original CD and that took care of it. Normally I can just copy the PPDs for our particular printers to the PPD folder in the Library/Printers/PPDs folder and it works fine, but for some reason this machine decided it needed everything reinstalled. It's working now.

  • Hp Color Laser Jet 5550dn Print Quality Issues

    Good Afternoon,
    I have a Hp Color Laser Jet 5550dn that has some print quality issue.  I've attached a black and white scan, but the color is a light blue to blue that form the blotches.  On the back of the page there are blue and pink streaks.  
    I can print more sample pages or print them in color, but anyone have any idea what could be going on here?

    We are encountering a similar problem. The streaking is coming fromt the Cyan cartridge and has continued for over a year now, despite numerous cartridge changes and replacing the transfrer case. It is progressively getting worse and I have yet to find a solution to this problem online. Any help or guidance would be appreciated.

    When powering up the HP 4600n color laser jet printer, it stops at 64mb************* What does this mean

    It sounds like it may be an issue with the memory module, have you tried doing a hard reset on the printer ?

    There is a good chance the printer is just getting auto IP internally..
    Plug it into your TC. And then set to dhcp via the controls on the printer.
    If you know the name of the printer it should be immediately available to the network.. but anyway, you can find its IP by printing out the test page. That will also give you the network name.
    Most later HP printers have web access to the print servers.. just type the ip into your browser and see if it comes up. 
    From the Mac, you should then be able to set it up via the printer preferences. Most HP will just appear.. but if not you should perhaps delete the local version and then check again for network printers.

  • Mac Lion OS print driver for hp color laser jet 1600 & business inkjet 2200

    I just brought a Macbook Air (13in) with the new OS Lion.  I however have a HP Color Laserjet 1600 and Business Inkjet 2200 that I love, but can't find a printer driver for either.  So, my questions are, does anyone know if:
    1)  there is going to be a mac lion os print driver for hp color laser jet 1600 & Business Inkjet 2200; or
    2)  is there another way to print to them (i.e., the 2200 uses HPA instead of PS and the 1600 uses PCL)?

    Any suggestions re correct driver for windows 7 and HP 4600dn?

    I have the HP color laser jet CP1215 and it seems to have frozen. I have tried unplugging and replugging the printer as well as just turning it on and off. I was able to delete some of the documents in the queue but there is one that I cannot delete and it is freezing the printer.

    Hi Everyone,
    Every time we print from the printer we get a faint line across the headed of the page about one inch from the top.  The line appears even when we "print" a blank page.  The line appease on both sides of the page when printing single or double sided.  It seems to fade when we print a lot of pages.  We have changed the toner and cleaned the Fuser Input.
    Any help would be great!

    The HP Color Laserjet 5500dn is a commercial printer. I would suggest posting in the forum for HP Business Support for a better chance at finding a solution.

  • New Color Laser Jet CP2025 Running EXTREMELY slow on network

    We just purchased a Color Laser Jet CP2025 Running EXTREMELY slow on our network!!

    You can see if it is a network problem by seeing how resoponsive the EWS is- type the IP address of the printer into a web browser and see if the screen refreshes quickly as is should.
    Then see if it is a file problem- try printing a simple text file from notepad.
    Not sure which driver you are using, but I have the bes tluck with PCL- download the latest from the web. If you are already using PCL, you could try the postscript driver.

    Hello,
    As I don't print in color much but had need to I discovered my printer not printing in color.  I trouble shooted and even replaced with an new HP95 new from Office Depot ( I never buy refilled).  The printer still won't print color but it advances the paper as if it was printing - just no ink on paper.  I have cleaned thoroughly the ink jet heads, cartridge area, and run all the alignment and printer utilities.    The test page print does not show color either.   I have no error messages.  Don't know what else to do.

    Thanks for contacting the HP Forums!
    I can see your having a print quality issue with your HP OfficeJet 6310.  I should be able to provide documentation that will help locate a resolution.  You mentioned you have already tried another  HP95 tri-color cartridge with no resolution.  I also noticed you said that the quality report from the printer also has no color ink.  
    If a stand alone test report is performed from the front of the printer such a printhead cleaning or print quality report and there is no color on the page then you are likely looking at a hardware issue within the printer.  I have provided a document regarding Missing, Faded, or Dull Colors on the HP Officejet 6310 All-in-One Printer.  If you follow the document from start to finish and still have the same issue then I would recommend contacting our HP tech support via phone.  They deal with hardware warranty and replacement options.

    I recently purchased an Office Jet Pro 6835 all-in-one printer.  It has stopped printing and displays the error message "there is a problem with the printhead".  Is this by any chance an indication I am already out of ink?  I don't want to assume this and waste $100 on ink cartridges....Thanks for any help or suggestions

    Welcome to the HP support forums.  I understand that when you are printing a multiple page document on your Officejet Pro 8500a that only the first 2 pages print.
    To better understand the issue would you please provide some further information:
    1)    What operating system are you using (Windows 7, Mac 10.8, or Windows 8, etc)?
    2)    Is this happening for all multiple page documents or just one?
    3)    Has a default of only printing the first 2 pages been accidentally set?
