Check your Windows Control Panel > Add or Remove Programs for anything related to Yahoo and for anything that you don't recognize (sometimes "things like that" are named differently that what you might expect).
Then remove it or "them".
Also check the Firefox Addons Manager. {Ctrl + Shft + A}

I want firefox in ENGLISH NOTHING ELSE

I want to browse the internet in english, I want my firefox to be in english and I dont want to have to set google back to english everytime I'm trying to search something.
I dont know why Mozilla thinks everything has to be translated now a days, but some people like me can actually read and write english despite not living in an english speaking country. I do all my work from my computer, which involves a lot of research and general doing stuff on the internet, and troubleshooting something or looking something up has always been and will always be easier and more comprehensive in english. WHAT should I do? PLEASE.

Let me also say here in a general way that Mozilla Firefox really irritates me, unlike Internet Explorer. IE ALWAYS comes up in ENGLISH. And IE provides an easy way to dump/erase a website address when I want to weed the search table. Why can't Firefox be as considerate? I have to believe that most of the users are not computer nerds who can sort out a problem but many are like me, very old and unschooled in computer software mysteries.

The problem is at the time the Firefox its connecting to a "X" website, it takes to much time get in on the website =/, I got the same problem with GoogleChrome! Hello cor-el, thanks for your reply. I changed my settings for downloads to desktop and it has appeared on there. When I double click I am asked which program I want to open file. I click firefox and another box "opening install" says I have chosen to open the file which is an application and do I want to save it. This is the only real option so I press save file. I get a box saying this is an executable file which may contain viruses - do you want to run. I press ok and the final box showing C drive file name and desktop appears stating application not found.
This happens the same whenever I try to install.
To my untrained eye the application is not being recognised as an application and I cannot work out how to get it to do that.
My plugin is still showing as out of date.
Is there anything you could suggest. Thanks for your time.

Then, when Firefox restarts again, it automatically re-opens all the tabs and applications that caused the computer to seize or crash in first place. This is a waste of my time. I want Firefox to reopen to my homepage even if it crashes. I am willing to lose information to have Firefox reopen to a low-memory homepage. How do I do this?

Set the Integer pref browser.sessionstore.max_resumed_crashes to 0 on the about:config page to get the about:sessionrestore page immediately with the first restart after a crash has occurred or the Task Manager was used to close Firefox.

Unless I am mistaken, iTunes Switzerland is far from Swiss and does not encourage its people to watch films in the local languages of its country (at least French and Italian would be good too...). Can anyone help ? Do I have to move to Geneva to watch a non French film in French or Lugano to watch a non Italian film in Italian or simply buy a DVD to get round it?

Go to your actual realplayer (program), click the top right button (Realplayer with an downwards arrow) and update your software. Make sure Firefox is closed while you do this.

Firefox doesn't update plugins like that. The worst you might see is a "nag" from Firefox after an update, about that plugin being outdated; and you can dismiss that "nag" by just closing it.

A few times a week

Firefox is shutting down windows I want to remain open. Example: I am done viewing one window. I click the X to shut the window and it shuts two windows. Every single time, attempt to close one windows, two windows close. Lately, I have been opening several windows with nothing but google search, just so it will shut that window and not something else I want to remain open. I could understand this if I was using tabs, but I am not. This has been going on for over two weeks. I don't like going back to history to open a window, I did not want closed in the first place. Isn't that what 'Windows' is all about? Any ideas?
