I bought Photoshop CS5 Extended Teacher/Student edition 3 days ago. It has been nothing but problem after problem. First off, they sold me a Mac instead of a Windows version. Now I wasn't too upset about that because they gave me the windows version. HOWEVER, I showed my Student ID upon purchasing. How else would I get the discounted price for the software if I didn't. So now, It is three days later, several phone calls have been made and the main website is down and I can't validate my photoshop. To make matters worse, each photoshop comes with a trail. Well I can't use mine because I used the trail before I got photoshop, hence the selling point of Photoshop in the first place. So I have basically paid 200 dollars to sit and wait for a Serial Number. Which I have been waiting for 3 days to get and still can't because the website does not work. I called customer support, and they said to give it a few hours and the website would be on. I was hung up on several times. Transferred numerous times. And they even sent me an email saying my case was RESOLVED. It is far from resolved. You have my money, I want my serial number! It's theft basically! "You need to wait several hours and try again". "Oh but you can't use your photoshop until we verify that you are a student..." I thought that was the whole point of showing my ID to the sales associate. So he would give me the discount? Now that's not good enough for you and I have to wait for your approval as well? No...This is beyond ridiculous. You have my money, give me my serial number. I have a product number, Student email address that you can send the serial number to....I WANT MY SERIAL NUMBER

sometimes the "opm.db file" is the culprit. In this case you should delete it.
But as much as I regret it and as strange as it may seem I fear it's a challenge for Adobe's Creative Cloud Cleaner Tool.
Sometimes - for whatever reasons - CC doesn't "want" to work. In this case you should CC completely delete and reinstall by help of Adobe Creative Cloud Cleaner Tool. (A try to uninstall by own resources is not enough!)

Thanks for replying, Jim. I wasn't planning to use it for raw images. I shoot film, black and white, and have many negatives I want to print. I am unfamiliar with the upgrades in Lightroom. I wasn't unhappy with the version I have. It was useful for my purposes.
Because it was a few years ago, I don't remember if I registered the product. I was able to login to my account. But could not find a path to communicate with Adobe. I will keep trying.

when i downloaded the trial of premiere pro cs6 on my windows computer , it only shows encore, so i open that but in order for that to open premiere it wants a serial number.. i didnt think i need a serial number for the free trials.. please help, project for school is due soon!!!!!!!

You are right , to use the trial you do not need the serial number however it is a prompt screen that comes up at the time of launch so that you can serialize the software and turn it to full version also it let you know the number of days left for the trial.
In your case it seems to be different , BTW what is your OS ? Premiere Pro CS6 will only work in 64 bit OS actually, it will get install on only 64 bit OS so that might be the reason you have only Encore present not Premiere Pro.

Change your iTunes (Apple ID) password along with any other password that was stored in the iPod. If any passwords are associated with credit cards, contact the CC company and get your card replaced (with a new number). If any passwords are associated with a bank or any other savings institution, contact them also and discuss approprate action with them.
The "Find my..." function is pretty much useless if the device is in the hands of a thief. All that is necessary is for the thief to connect to any computer with iTunes and "Restore as new."
The only real protection you have is with the personal information on the device rather than the physical device itself. This requires action before the device is lost/stolen. If the device has significant personal information, it should have a strong 8-digit (or longer) password AND be configured for automatic wipe in the event of ten consecutive incorrect password entries.

This procedure is a diagnostic test. It’s unlikely to solve your problem. Don’t be disappointed when you find that nothing has changed after you complete it.
The purpose of the test is to determine whether the problem is caused by third-party software that loads automatically at startup or login, or by a peripheral device.
Disconnect all wired peripherals except those needed for the test, and remove all aftermarket expansion cards. Boot in safe mode and log in to the account with the problem. Note: If FileVault is enabled, or if a firmware password is set, or if the boot volume is a software RAID, you can’t do this. Ask for further instructions.
Safe mode is much slower to boot and run than normal, and some things won’t work at all, including Wi-Fi on certain iMacs. The next normal boot may also be somewhat slow.
The login screen appears even if you usually log in automatically. You must know your login password in order to log in. If you’ve forgotten the password, you will need to reset it before you begin. Test while in safe mode. Same problem? After testing, reboot as usual (i.e., not in safe mode) and verify that you still have the problem. Post the results of the test.

I have been downloaded and setup creative cloud, authorization with my adobe id, updated my Lightroom 5.7 to 6 CC and now i'm watching: you have trial version for 30 days and i need serial number. Where is this serial number ? I payed for what ?

Second, check that is shows as Lightroom CC and not Lightroom 6. (See the difference here, but do not follow this guide since you want CC version)

Computer crashed, had to move programs to new hard drive, now Lightroom wants a serial number to open and I can only find the license key I was given upon purchasing it.

Adobe Application Manager wants my serial number again

I have the CS6 Master collection (old school, not the creative cloud) installed on my Mac already for one year. Now, out of the blue, Adobe Application Manager pop up's since a couple of days on my desktop and asks me for the serial number: after filling it, the serial number will not be accepted and AAM just decides that CS6 will run as try out for the next thirty days...
It is the right serial number and my CS6 is registered (I can see it on my Adobe page/profile with the same s.n.), so how to stop this?

I have exactly the same situation after having used another startup disk of my MacPro. I then started up from the disk with Master Collection again and I have the situation described above. The chatbox is not available at this moment.

I have run into some finanacial problems so I am selling my rMBP and I plan on transferring the Apple Care to the new owner. A potential buyer has emailed me asking for the serial number of the computer so he can check with Apple about the specifications of the computer and the Apple Care. Is this a common practice? Or can giving this person my serial number cause me harm?

Give him only the last three characters of the serial number, check the AppleCare yourself, and tell him what it says. Appending the last three characters of it to http://www.everymac.com/ultimate-mac-lookup/?search_keywords= will reveal the specifications without needing any personal information.

Why does dvd studio Pro all of a sudden want my serial number?

Using DVDSP 4.2.1. This has been stable on my Mac Pro for many years now. The file importer got confused somehow and even Activity Monitor had trouble force quitting.
I repaired permissions and rebooted and all seemed fine. Now about every 3 or 4 times I start DVDSP it'a asking for me to put in my identifying info, including the SN.. I've got the SN, but I don't feel all warm and fuzzy about this. Does anyone know what has happened and how I can be sure things are not going to lock me out when I need to keep going on a project?

I have had this problem occur rather often. Not sure which OS you are running. A couple of things, after entering the number, close it out and open the older version of Motion (the one from the Studio and install discs, not the new one if you purchased through app store.)
Then either launch DVD Studio Pro via going into the App Folder and open a project that way OR close out DVD SP and click a DVD SP project to open it. Yeah, it sounds weird. On one of my computers following one of those seems to have cut down the asking for a serial number a lot, while on another computer the second version seems to work. I have not tracked down where the problem came from yet, but I had the same thing - stable for years. And I do not recall even doing any updates because once I have computers working, I leave them alone unless needed. I am guessing I probably loaded a driver or something.....

And what exactly are you trying to upgrade? If you're referring to CS6, then that's a "no deal" situation - minimum requirements for upgrades are CS3 or CS4 at this point. If you mean something else, clarify. otehr than that get in touch with support.

How can I find the serial number of my stolen MacBook Pro?

I had my 2009 Macbook Pro stolen about 10 months ago. I didn't think I'd see it again until last last it showed up on my "Find My Phone" App, in Vietnam.
I locked it straight away and sent a message to the screen with my email address.
The person who had it worked at a computer shop and contacted me straight away.
He understands its stolen and wants to help but he will only give it to the police. And the Vietnamese police want my serial number to proove its mine before they will send it back to me.
I don't have a copy of the recpiet or serial number. I've been to the iStudio where I bought it and thier records start 1 month after I purcahsed it.
I've tried the https://supportprofile.apple.com page and for some reason my macbooks are not registered on there. All my other apple products are.
Is there any other way I can retrieve my serial number?
It's conected to the icloud and the app and I've made puchases on iTunes from it.
Any help would be very much appreciated
