Interactivity is more than just reading and clicking, but that is not your question. Which version do you use? I will suppose it is the latest one, 8.0.1.242.
Answer was already in my first reply. Insert an interactive object: shape button, normal button or click box. They can pause the slide, typical pausing time (see Timing Properties panel) is at 1.5secs for shape buttons and other buttons, at the end of its timeline for the click boxes that are invisible to the user. Interactive objects have a Success and a Failure event, when they click on it the Success event is fired and that event can trigger an action like 'Go to Next Slide'. You'll find those actions in the Properties panel for that object, Actions tab. User can read or look as long as he wants, and only when he clicks that object he will move to the next slide. Since you'll probably want that object to be clicked to move to the next slide on every slide, I recommend to use a shape button. That is the only one that can be put on a master slide (maybe the main master slide), or on the first slide and timed for the rest of the project (Timing Properties panel). More details in this post:

Never extend a slide duration for the purpose you mention, because that is just increasing the file size for no reason.

I Too find this very annoying. why is it, that each new update tends to make things worse? Do they not to any end user testing?
Besides the annoying ads (yeah I know wait for a few seconds, then skip it. But why should I have to?), they restructured the layout after you've watched a video. You used to see a list related videos. And, because it was in single column you could see more than the new graphics. Maybe I will get used to it?
The most annoying new f'eature' is what happens when you press the Pause button. A large chunk graphic with 'Resume' on it overlaying the image. Well guess why I pause videos? It's either because I want to study the current frame, or as in the case just now, some text was scrolling by so fast I couldn't read it. So I press Pause and now most of the text is covered up!

If there's a way of fixing this, it would be great. in the meantime I guess I'd better turn off auto updates.

iTunes does not support drag and drop for iOS devices.
Connect either the iPod or iPad to your computer, launch iTunes.
Select the iPod (iPad) under Devices left side of the iTunes window in the source list.
Select Books from the menu.
Then click the Sync button bottom right side of the iTunes window.
You can select All Books or Selected Books.

Go onto iTunes on your computer, on the right side of the home page of the iTunes store, click Account Information. Click the Edit button next to Payment Type. How can i remove moved and deleted old libraries?

I've moved a bunch of my libraries around, removed some, and have installed iphoto9 on a new mac. I love that in iphoto9 I can now create new libraries or decide which library to open. But, all of my older libraries are showing up in the list when I open with "option". Plus there are duplicates of the older libraries. I'm assuming there is a db or data text file somewhere that is populating this list. Does anyone know how I can remove old defunct libraries from showing up in the list?

Well, if you want to use iTunes and whatever security or changes have been made with the iTunes Agreement have changed since last time, and to work with the iTunes Store....
Clone your system.
You can also turn off updates.
Are you on Lion? And already have iTunes 11? You can manaully download and go to the support page and see what changes were made and other requirements.

In a word press moving photo gallery, the photos are not visible though slide change indicator advances

On the above website there is a photo gallery moving banner at the top of this home page. When I first went on this site I could see the photos properly as they advanced. Then, the blog photos were changed and I could no longer see the photos. The banner on my screen is a complete blank even though the upper right circles indicate that "something" is progressing. When I first open the site I see a momentary flash of the site name graphic then the banner goes blank (white). Thanks for your help

The script that loads the images doesn't seem to be working in Firefox 3.x versions including Firefox 3.6.23<br />
The banner loads if JavaScript is disabled, but with JavaScript enabled a script replaces that banner with a slide show that fails to load the images.<br />
It work in Firefox 4 and the current Firefox 7.0.1 version, so you will have to update if you want to visit that site.

Apple doesn't make it easy to do what you want. However, here's how I do it.
Select the photo you want to move and create a new Event for it via the Event ➙ Create Event menu option.
In the Event mode select the new Event with the one picture and drag it onto the Event you want to move the photo to.

By default the photos will be sorted by the date modified.

Edit (touch) them in the order you want them to be shown.

Captivate 8 - I want my slides to stop at the end and wait for a button click to advance

It works when published as HTML5, but NOT as swf.
(I have those specific slides set to pause at the end. They contain stuff the user might want to write down.)
Instead, the swf project advances to the next slide and THEN stops. Instead of using the forward button, the user has to use the play button on the skin.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!

I suppose you used the On Exit event to pause? In that case the SWF-behavior is normal behavior: the action occurs only after exiting the slide, so Pause will be on first frame of next slide.
Why not add a click box, time it for the rest of the slide and it will pause at the last frame. And you talk about a Forward button? Why not use the pausing of that button to pause at the last frame (or almost at the last frame)?
