I want only .jpg, Apple wake-up!!!
I 'm using for family site the pastel theme. My web-space isonly 100Mb and I'm running out of space because most photos are uploaded as they are (over 2Mb each).
I've searched the whole forum and I've found various tricks (iweboptimizer, export while pressing command button, use photoshop.....); unfortunately they doesn't solve my problem.
Now, what can I do to force iWeb to use only .jpg format ? I don't use any effects on photo inside the blog.....
Is make a sense ask Apple to put a simple control, checkbox, that give us the possibility to choose?
In the meantime, any other suggestion ?
Please don't tell me to use photoshop or other $$$$ software as I don't have them.

The issue you are having is not really about jpgs or pngs. The real issue is that you haven't properly sized your images for use in iWeb. This is an important step because of two things...1. iWeb's propesity for bloating files because of image effects like rotation, reflections, borders, shadows, etc. and 2. iWeb's insistence on uploading not only images that it has resized but also the full resolution images (what you dragged into iWeb).
Because of these "flaws" in iWeb, you really do need to prepare images to be used in iWeb. This means not letting iWeb to the resizing because not only will iWeb upload the resized photo but it will also upload the original resolution photo. The secret is to give iWeb photos that are already scaled by some external application...like iPhoto. I personally like one called "Downsize" because it lets me control jpg compression levels and lets me add frames and drop shadows and image masks.
Yes, these are things that iWeb could do better, perhaps in a later incarnation, but that doesn't mean that we users have to sit still and wait for Apple to solve our problems.

Apple IDs cannot be merged. You should use your preferred Apple ID from now on, but you can still access your purchased items such as music, movies, or software using your other Apple IDs.

I do not know what the "daw" account is. I thing the "store" account is for Apple on-line store from which yo can purchase hardware. That is sperate to the Apple ID you use on the iPod but yo can use the same email address. -
I have an apple ID with a @gmail.com account for iTunes purchases, an @me.com for email and recently an @icloud.com account for nothing. Would it be simplier if I can recieve my mail at @icloud.com buy songs and apps with @icloud.com and login into any Apple service
A matter of personal choice. Nevertheless, you cannot remove an Apple ID, you can just stop using it.
Note that anything connected to one Apple ID will not be transferrable to another Apple ID. -

I bought iphone 5s device only from apple and used my o2 sim for sometime, now I want to use 3 sim, can I replace the sim directly or anything Apple has to do on my device?
Yes, I bought iPhone 5s from Apple.com/uk and paid full price(no contracts, not pay as you go). From your reply I take it that it wont be locked on O2 even though my first sim used on the device was on O2. This is helpful to know, I will change it with a new sim from 3 and see (definitely will switch off while doing so). Thanks for your suggestion. After changing the sim probably in a few days time, I will confirm to you again.

MacBook Pro won't stay asleep with external monitor attached. When sleep is selected from the Apple menu the computer will go to sleep only to continually wake up...go back to sleep...wake up...etc. every few seconds. This only happens when using the external monitor. Does anyone have any suggestions?
Mine does that too. The worst thing is when it goes to sleep, then wakes up and keeps running while the lid is closed and it is wrapped up in a case. I am afraid when the hot weather comes it is going to burn up. I am hoping Apple fixes it in the software or they may have a melted MBP to replace.
Then when I open the lid it is crashed running at fill tilt, pumping out heat to beat the band. I am forced to hold the button down and reboot.
I wiped my hard disk and reinstalled my OS, but it didn't help. I reversed my OS to 10.5.0 and it solved the DVI problem but still won't sleep. This post will probably be deleted by Apple, they did it a few days ago. I just don't know what to do, and I consider myself a real Apple expert. Just hoping you realize you are not the only one. -
My ipad2 is not responding..I want to restart it but i can get nothing but a black screen with only the apple logo and a small gear icon. It occasionally beeps but no other response. Any ideas as to what may be wrong and what I can do?
Try:
- iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
- If not successful and you can't fully turn the iPad fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
- If still not successful that indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order. -

We have 3 family members who all sync our iPhones/iPads/iPods to the same computer. My son can't access and download past purchases from his iTunes acct to our computer, because it says ONLY ONE Apple ID can be associated with the computer every 90 days, and I just downloaded a movie this week from my own account. Now, my son has to wait 90 days to access his own purchases. I feel I should have access to my purchases any time I want, as should my son and any other family members who use this computer. The number of devices authorized to access iTunes Store purchases is already set to five (which we do not exceed) so, why this additional restriction? I don't understand why Apple would restrict me from accessing our own purchases.
This bothers me so much. It is absolutely ridiculous. I use my Apple ID as well as a family member's Apple ID to download music.
Every once in a while I will purchase a song and it won't download correctly or will give me an error that my computer is not authorized, a solution I usually fix by deleting and redownloading the song from the cloud. This doesn't work, however, when it happens to both accounts within 90 days.
It is incredibly frustrating to me that I have paid for a song, it downloaded incorrectly, and I must wait 90 days to try downloading it again because of these assinine policies. -
i have erased my all phone contact list and then the message comes that it will be deleted with in an hour. but now my phone is not starting and only the apple logo appears on the screen. what should i do now..!
That number is for an apple server in the UK that is used for iMessage activation. A hidden SMS is snet to that number when you turn iMessage on and is used to verify your phone number. I suggest you turn iMessage off. In settings/phone turn on dial assist. Check with your carrier to see if you can send an international SMS as you end that possibility to activate iMessage. Rest your phone (Hold down the Sleep/Wake button and the home button together until the apple logo appears (ignore the ON/OFF slider) then let both buttons go and wait for device to restart (no data will be lost).) then turn iMessage back on.

What to do now when my iPad won't turn on after I turn it off. It shows only the apple logo. I am sure it has above 70% charge as when I sync my iPad it shows necessary detail in iTunes. I have tried, HOME & POWER button, but did not work.
First try a Reset ( No Data will be Lost )
Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button at the same time for at least Ten seconds... (But can take Longer)... until the Apple logo appears. Release the Buttons
If no joy... Try a Restore...
1: Connect the device to Your computer and open iTunes.
2: If the device appears in iTunes, select and click Restore on the Summary pane.

Import only jpg files from a camera that shoots RAW+jpg?
Is there a way to import only jpg files from a camera that shoots both RAW+jpg? I only want the small jpgs copied, not the RAW file. I have the USB adapter and am about to go on vacation and wanted to use my iPad to upload pictures to Facebook on the go so I am going to shoot on my Canon 5D in RAW+jpg. All I want to copy to the iPad are the jpg files. Is there a way to only copy one?
As a Test:
Hold down the option (or alt) key and launch iPhoto. From the resulting menu select 'Create Library'
Import a few pics into this new, blank library. Is the Problem repeated there?
I would note there is a long-standing issue between Kodaks and some versions of OS X - the workaround for that is to use a USB Card reader.

FORCE IPAD INTO RECOVERY MODE
1. Hold Sleep/Wake button down and slide to turn off iPad
2. Turn on computer and launch iTune (make sure you have the latest version of iTune)
3. Plug USB cable into computer's USB port
4. Hold Home button down and plug the other end of cable into docking port. Do not release button until you see picture of iTune and plug.
5. Release Home button.
ON COMPUTER
6. iTune has detected iPad in recovery mode. You must restore this iPad before it can be used with iTune.
