I want pdf to open in form view not this icon..see image

I have just completed my first form with Acrobat 9
when the link is selected
http://www.financialcounsellors.org/HUGS Application_Form_to_FCAWA_3_pages.pdf
A small image appears (see image) that must be clicked before the form is visible. How can I get the link to open in full view as per the link below on the "Forms'link on menu bar.Re 2 page view.
PS cant send image ..just noticed there is no facility for it. Oops try this http://www.financialcounsellors.org/Hugs1.jpg

I simply clicked on your link and that is what your server told me. It may be that the folder is password protected or something similar.
Here is the error I get:
"Forbidden
You don't have permission to access /HUGS Application_Form_to_FCAWA_3_pages.pdf on this server.
Additionally, a 403 Forbidden error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.
Apache/1.3.37 Server at www.financialcounsellors.org Port 80"
Also, using a space in the URL does not follow proper naming (it is a feature of IE and is not standard). You should replace it with %20. Many browsers will convert it to %20 (even IE did that) that is the HEX equivalent of a space.
Basically you have loaded it someplace that we (or at least I) do not have permission to access.

  • I want PDF to open in the browser, not download. I can't find a setting to do this.

Other browsers open a pdf on the web inside the browser, which I like.
Firefox wants to download it, which I do not like.
The settings do not seem to allow me this choice for pdf. Other file types work.

    Hello,
Check your settings for PDF files in:
    * Tools (or [[Image: New Fx Menu]]) > Options > Applications
    * For PDFs, set to "Preview in Firefox"
Also, you are using an outdated version of Firefox (current version is 33.0.3), you can update by going to:
    * Help (or [[Image: New Fx Menu]] > [[Image: Help-29]]) > About Firefox
Or download a fresh copy at:
    * https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/new/
    * (if you need a different localization) https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/all/

I created a pdf form and then imported it to Forms Central for distribute. It is now loaded to my website and setup so a person clicks on the link to open the form. At this point they then have to go to upper right to open form using a different view. I would like the form to open directly in Adobe Reader form to make it easier to enter information. Thanks, Ike

If you created it in Forms Central, you have to edit it there. I believe Forms Central is similar to LiveCycle Designer in that the form created is no longer able to be edited in Acrobat. I might be wrong, but that is my understanding. You add the submit button in Forms Central. Within Acrobat, you should be able to go to the forms menu and Manage Data to save the data to an Excel file. Others better with forms should be by to clarify things, but this should get you started. In the future you might find it better to post a forms question in the forms discussions.

  • Interactive PDF still opens as form

Why hasn't this problem been solved with the release of InDesign CS5?
The problem, which as been discussed in previous posts with previous versions of InDesign, is that multi-page, somewhere over 20 pages, documents exported as interactive PDFs result in displaying the purple forms bar in Acrobat. In the previous threads, work arounds have been discussed and others have decided that "living with it" is acceptable.
Come on Adobe! Please fix this. Give the user the option to export an interactive PDF with multiple pages without turning it into a form. I expect that I can create an elegant solution for my clients. I expect the same from Adobe.

    Thanks Bob.

Don't ask us. Report it to Adobe:
    https://www.adobe.com/cfusion/mmform/index.cfm?name=wishform
FWIW, I'm still not sure if it's an InDesign issue or an Acrobat issue. My
    money's on the latter, though.

  • I want to make a slideshow to view on my television with image's duration ranging from seconds to an hour or more and I want to use my iPhone or iPad mini to control the television through my Apple tv.  I've been unable to locate an app that will do this.

I want to make a slideshow to view on my television with image's duration ranging from seconds to an hour or more and I want to use my iPhone or iPad mini to control the television through my Apple tv.
I've been unable to locate an app that will do this.  The Photos app that comes with the phone or iPad has extremely limited duration controls.  PhotoStream seems to load everything from my phone or iPad not allowing me to just load up a set group of images.
iPhoto for iPad is getting some terrible recent reviews.  I tried a couple other free apps but they don't use Airplay.
I can do something like this with iPhoto and my MB Air, but it's kind of ugly to have the computer open in order to connect by Airplay to my Apple TV.  I've thought the iPad or iPhone would be a lower profile controller.
    Am I out of luck?

Thanks for your help.  Since I'm uninterested in loading all my photos (the only option) into photostream, I won't be able to use the settings in ATV.  I guess I'm just stuck with using iPhoto on my MB Air.  Thanks again.

  • PDF files open very slowly or not at all.

I am experiencing an issue on a clients network where most pdf files open extremely slow or not at all. This issue is being experieced by both pc and mac uses, computers on and off the domain. Any one connected to the network. Has anyone seen an issue like this before. We are currently having Cisco troubleshoot the internet router but are not currently seeing any issues there. The isp has indicated that the circuit has tested cleanly. The issue is even seen when trying to download the pdf, it just seems to hang around 80-90 percent of the download.
Any help on this issue would be greatly appreceiated.

It MAY be that Adobe software slowness problems are caused by having a network
printer as default... with the cure being to always have a local printer as a
default (you don't have to USE it, just have it set to local as default) and
this may be accomplished by using an Adobe Generic Printer Driver

  • Don't want PDF to open in Preview...

Hi All, I know this doesn't quite fit in this Forum, but I don't know where else to post it.
I'm making an extensive PDF document with links to short video clips.
I made the document in Pages, then once it's a PDF I open it in Acrobat Pro and apply the links to the video clips. When re-opened in Acrobat all works fine... but not in Preview. It opens in Preview, but the links don't work.
The problem is that by default the file opens in Preview. How do I make the PDF document so it opens in Acrobat by default?
This file will go onto a DVD, so I need to fix the file rather than change the default/open settings in my OS.
    Cheers.

    I just figured it out.
Once I have made my links to the video clips in Acrobat, I select Save As and give it a new name. Then make sure Hide Extension is un-checked. This gives the .pdf and the file icon displays as an Acrobat file rather than a Preview PDF.
    Opens in Acrobat by default!
Note: This does not work the same when exporting from Pages to PDF. Un-checking Hide Extensions does not have the same result. Maybe that’s why it took so long for me to figure it out.

  • PDF document opened with Preview does not show french accents

    Hi everybody,
I've got some issues with PDF documents opened with Preview.
They show a blank space for all the accented vowels.
If I open the same document with Safari, it's the same. But with Chrome, it works perfectly.
I assume there's a problem with fonts, but, nothing wrong with fontbook (checked duplicates for instance).
Last information : it looks ok within chrome on my Imac, but the issue comes back when I try to print from chrome app...the accents are gone on the sheet.
Any idea ? I don't want to install Adobe reader...
    Thanks for your help !

I don't want to install Adobe reader...
Why not?  It can handle some pdf's that Preview can't.  At least it's worth a try.
In case you change you mind get it from here.

  • FORMS VIEWER NOT WORKING FIREFOX 22

Yesterday my IBM FORMS VIEWER worked, since update 22 it does not. I had the same problem with update 21 but it was fixed by changing plugins.loadappdir.plugings to true. The setting still is set at true but the program does not work. Firefox is not opening the files, The check java website shows I have the latest and correct version if that matters.
    Verified Java Version

    Congratulations!
You have the recommended Java installed (Version 7 Update 25).
please offer a fix, we use this to download orders from our large customers and need it fixed.

    Hi debrod25, that's interesting.
The Application preferences are stored in a file named mimeTypes.rdf in your current personal settings folder (your active Firefox profile folder). The source of data in this file is not completely clear to me. I believe its sources include the Windows registry, especially the data types handled by different plugins, and your choices when instructing Firefox how to open different downloads.
It is prone to occasional corruption, in which case it can be rebuilt from scratch by exiting Firefox and renaming the file.
Unfortunately, mimeTypes.rdf is difficult to read and tricky to edit. However, it is possible and of course it's easy to make and if necessary restore a backup.
The file can be found by opening the currently active profile folder from inside Firefox using
Help > Troubleshooting Information > "Show Folder" button<br>
    (Mac: "Show in Finder" button)
If you decide to edit this file, for example, by copying an entry from the file on one computer to another, please make a copy first for possible restoration, and exit Firefox because otherwise your changes may be overwritten during shutdown.

  • Attached PDFs within PDFs sometimes open and sometimes will not....?

Any advice would be much appreciated!
I'm working in Adobe Reader XI (11.0.10). I'm attaching a series of smaller, one-two page PDFs to a single 25-page PDF document--maybe 50 or so attachments by the end of it, all PDFs. I'm using the "Attach File" feature.
Here's my problem: some (25%-35%?) of the time, I will attach a file that opens as a PDF, just fine, on its own in Reader. But then, at some later point, when I try to open it as an attachment in the bigger PDF, it gives the following error:
Adobe Reader could not open 'FileName.pdf' because it is either not a supported file type or because the file has been damaged (for example, it was sent as an email attachment and wasn't correctly decoded).
But that file will open just fine on its own in Reader! And then if I re-attach it, again (same file, same everything), it will often open the next time I attach it. So I'm continually checking to see whether the attachments "took" and re-attaching them. I cannot figure out any pattern to which attachments "take" and which don't.
Complicating matters, these to-be-attached files are being assembled through a series of sources--via email PDF attachments, scanning to PDF, exporting to PDF, saving to PDF, and more. I know that saving to PDF can screw things up, but--if the files open by themselves in Reader, shouldn't they be okay? Is there a reason that they then would not open as attachments to another PDF, even if they open as PDFs on their own?
One thing that seems to help is attaching a PDF, immediately opening it through the attachment, then saving the whole document. Then it seems to stick...? But this doesn't really make sense to me.
I hope this is clear. Thoughts, suggestions?

    Hi deec6118879,
The reason for this message is that your email client service is using encoding to make the file transfer process faster. When the service decodes at your end, it does not recognize it as PDF.
You might ask the sender to first Zip the PDF file so that you can unzip it at your end or post it somewhere to your website and email you the link.
Then, check again and let me know if this sorts the problem.
    Hope to hear from you.
    Regards,
    Anubha

  • PDF once opened in W7 can not be opened correctly in XP.

I have got dual boot on my PC. I can choose Windows 7 or Windows XP. On second Hard drive I do keep my PDF files.
When I am in Windos 7 and open PDF file it is ok. But after when I go to Windows XP and open again the same file from XP than gray squares appeares as background. That make text nearly unreadable. Windows XP open PDF correctly. But those PDF files which were previous opened by W7 are not display correctly. For me it looks like Windows 7 change something so after XP can not open it.
My both systems has got the latest Adobe Reader installed.

Thank you. That works. Most PC problems are easy to resolve but it is difficult to see it at first place

Hey all! Does anyone here know if there's a way to do the following in Keynote for iOS?
    Add hyperlinked text
    View notes long with slides
Snag and display images from Safari to put into Keynote
    And if so, how?

    HI,
I have created a project similar to yours and I can't see all the issues mentioned.
But, with the links which you sent, issues are present.
So, can you send me the CPTX project so that I can verify.

  • TS3899 IPad Air, Mail, I want incoming e-mails to be displayed as previews that I must click to open. I do not want the already opened e-mail view on the left of my mailboxes. Lu

I know how to delete an e-mail. That is not my question. On my Mac and iphone my email view is of preview of e-mails that I then click to open If I want to read them. I want the same mail view on my I-pad. So that I can delete possible spam mail without opening the e-mail. How do I change the view settings for my mail on my I-pad?

Sorry, you can't. The default mail app always has a mail open. The only way around it is to always have an older mail selected so that it's open, not the newer ones.
or look for another app. I'm afraid that I have no recommendation to make.

  • I don't want PDF files openning in Firefox, I want them to open in Adobe Reader

Both old PDF files that I have saved and new PDF files I have made and downloaded are openning in Firefox. Some people my like that but I don't, please tell me how to shut this off.

    Hello Osprey,
If you are using Windows, you have to right-click a .pdf file, then click on "open with", here you can choose with which program the PDF files will be automatically opened.
Another solution is to go in your control panel, then in "Default Programs", you'll be able to do the same. You can refer to [http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/change-default-programs#1TC=windows-7 this article] .
