I want somthing from MSI pleaseeeeeeee!!

I have a K7N2 motherboard and I am very frusterated because my cpu core voltage only goes to 1.80 and the fsb max is 400mhz and the cpu multiplyer only goes to 13. I know my chip and memory can handle much more then this and i was wondering if by any chance there are any plans to fix this in the next bios update, and if not could you please consider this change, I know i am not the only one who is upset by this, I am a member of alot of overclocking forums and there are alot of people with the same problem as me. Thx for hearing me out and i hope everyone here who has a K7N2 will say something about this.

Your request would be better suited in the MSI survey forum here: What features would you like to see in MSI motherboard in the future? However, I think the Delta series is more capable at what you are trying to achieve, I may be wrong here but I think there are hardware limitations and most of the focus is either on the Delta series or the 64bit Athlon NF3's ATM..
I am assuming you have the pre-Delta since you didn't mention it.

  • Important: Official Statement from MSI Taiwan (abt CoreCell overclocki

"To the Editors of Tom' s Hardware,
We are writing in response to your article "Intel Rigs Up: P4 Series with FSB800"
Indeed what your lab engineer discovered is true.
MSI does plan to use the said "logic circuit" or "dynamic overclocking" as a feature for this board.
The reason why we haven't announced it to anybody yet is because we are in the process of doing internal testing and applying for a patent.
This feature should be available for high-end MSI motherboard in our next BIOS release.
MSI's "dynamic overclocking" (the feature name still has not been finalized as of this writing) feature is exactly what your article described."The manufacturer has incorporated an ingenious logic circuit that increases the FSB speed between 6 and 8 percent while programs are running; the processor is automatically overclocked. However, FSB and CPU speeds are only increased when applications are started or when benchmark programs have finished - subject to CPU usage reaching close to 100 percent. And this is really interesting: the overclocking does not show up using conventional benchmarking utilities such as WCPUID, Intel CPU Frequency Display, CPUZ or SiSoft Sandra 2003. You need a very specialized tool to reveal the increased bus speed."
The reason why the overclocking does not show up on well-known utilities such as WCPUID, Intel Frequency Display, CPUZ and SiSoft Sandra 2003 is because these programs cannot detect dynamic overclocking. That is why you need a special developer's tool to detect dynamic overclocking in realtime.
We are also planning to incorporate this feature on MSI boards in the future as well, and we will offer an option to activate and deactivate this feature on these boards.
    Once again, thanks for everything!!!
    Best Regards,
    MSI Marketing"

As you already have guessed - we are all some kind of "fine young BETA testers" yepp!  ;(
And as many of us already have guessed again - that explains some of the manual overclocking results - because the combination of dynamic and manual overclocking is not always the right thing to do... right?!
So all we/I want now it the ability to switch the CoreCell dynamic overclocking "feature" OFF if we want to!!!
I REALLY REALLY hope this be implemented in the BIOS of both the MSI 875 and 865... and ALL future boards!
We should all have the option to use it AND NOT TO BE FORCED USING IT if we bought the board - I WANT TO OVERCLOCK THE DAMN THING MYSELF WITHOUT CORECELL IF I WANT TO!
Hope we are going to see some BIOS wonders from MSI SOON and everything could be great!
    Thanks!

agreed, I have already sent and email earlier today asking if there is a way to actually disable the Core Cell hardware, because from my understanding even if you don't install the program for windows, it's still enabled

  • Z77A-G43 drivers from MSI website not working

Hi, I've just built a new computer on a Z77A-G43, running Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit.
    Specs:
    i5-3570K
    8GBs of Corsair RAM
    MSI 7850
    120GB Intel 330 SSD - system
    1TB WD Green - secondary
Instead of installing drivers from the supplied CD (except for ethernet drivers), I went to the MSI product page for my mobo for newer drivers. All goes well, except that I can't install the last driver I want - the Intel VGA driver for the GMA HD 4000 that's in my CPU. I read the readme, so I don't think I'm doing anything wrong. When I launch Setup.exe all I get is this error: "This computer does not meet the minimum requirements for installing the software." Running as admin doesn't change anything.
I'm thinking it must be the wrong driver. I looked through Intel's site, but would like to get a tested option here from MSI. I read some other forums of people having similar problems, some can't even boot after installing. I don't want to get into that situation. Could MSI please update the drivers page with the correct drivers? This driver isn't on the mobo CD anyway, so it's the only way to get it from you guys.
Btw, I also noticed the same problem with the Intel Rapid Start driver and I haven't tested the Intel Smart Connect driver. I'm not going to use either one of these, but it's worth noting.
    Edit:
Found the VGA driver on the CD, but same result. Through the autorun MSI interface the VGA driver button in the Drivers menu is unclickable.

I finally got around to installing the VGA drivers for the GMA HD 4000. You don't even need to unplug your discrete card (PEG), in BIOS just switch to initiate IGP and make sure you have an HDMI/DVI/DSUB plugged in to the monitor and scanning for input. If you go to the Windows device manager, you'll see the system is detecting a new graphics adapter. You can proceed with the installation of the drivers as they will now detect the IGP. Then one restart and you're done. Btw, after restarting, if you have your discrete card connected and monitor also plugged in, the video input may fall back to it, so don't panic if you hear the Windows start up sound and see a black screen.
Unfortunately the G43 does not come with any support for Lucid Logix Virtu software, so that was my mistake, when I said I see it all in the BIOS earlier. In the BIOS, all you can do is switch between which graphics adapter you want to initiate and some memory size settings when multi-monitor is enabled in IGP mode. There aren't any d-Mode or i-Mode settings.
Btw, how can I mark this as solved?

  • Drivers from MSI or REALTEK?

    Hi
Should I use Realtek ALC Series AC'97 Audio Drivers from MSI or download direct from REALTEK?
    Anyvone tried drivers from Realtek.......

it actually depends... depends on how good MSI design their audio portion according to Realtek reference. There are reasons why NOT to use reference driver but only to use MSI driver. If MSI wanted to have do something out of Realtek reference design, the driver has to be modified to support this additional "feature" too. I say a "feature" it could mean a driver compensation to cover up hardware design issues due to some cut-cost or not following reference design guidelines provided by Realtek. For example, microphone input too soft particularly on a board, not due to bad codec chip but bad board design. The driver has to be modified to increase the input bias, in which the Realtek reference driver does not have this modified by default.
Try both of them out, and if you managed to find any difference, just stick with the better one. If you can't hear the difference, then stick to the latest one.

  • Absolutely no freakin response from MSI for RMA!!!????

I bought my K7D Master mainboard Sept. 5 of last year. I've sent two emails to MSI in the last 3 months as well as one phone attempt (always leave message - no freakin humans), and Jan. 30 I faxed them a 3 page form detailing my problems with this DEFECTIVE mainboard requesting an RMA and still NO ONE HAS CONTACTED ME!!!
What kind of ****** service is this ******??
    I'm pissed.
I'm going to try again to phone them this morning and fax the form again, if I don't get a response this time I'm going to tell the world how ***** MSI service is over 10 forums, 3 websites I manage and email everyone I know.
I was planning on purchasing another mainboard and at least 2 video cards from MSI. Why should I??
Time to ****** anti-up MSI. Last chance. :O
Somewhere I read that MSI doesn't RMA product directly, you have to go through the reseller. If that's the case they can tell me so instead of ignoring all correspondence.
Attemped fixes since DAY 1 include but are not limited to:
    1. bios upgrades to latest
    2. various sticks of ram
    3. higher wattage brand-name PSU
    4. higher & lower core voltage
    5. different cpu coolers
    6. different IDE cables
    7. re-seating all expansion cards, memory, connectors, etc
    8. removing all cards except agp
    9. OS re-installation
    10. swap cpu's around
    11. not temperature issue - temps are low in Antec 1030 case with 3 case fans
It works fine with one cpu, dual does not work stable. I have tried everything including things not listed.
Edited for foul language by GF

    My apologies for bad language.
No, pretty much no help on these forums. One of the moderators suggested I check out http://www.amdforums.com or similar site. No luck there either. Anyhow, it was working on one cpu so I was living with it. ;(
I sent off two emails to MSI tech support a couple months apart. No response on either. Then I didn't see their RMA form but found a "Customer Problem Description Form" which is 3 or 4 pages where you fill in exactly what the problem is, your complete hardware setup, OS, etc, etc. Filled all that out then faxed it in to a different number than the RMA fax number. No response. Oh, I also phoned the tech support telephone line and was put to a "leave a message" prompt and hung up because I wanted to speak to a human.
Anyhow, I just sent off the board by XpressPost on Friday last week. I think it takes 3 days to get to Cali.
Richard H. on http://www.2cpu.com had to return his K7D too and it took 6-7wks the first time. That board was defective too and after returning that he got a replacement that worked 2-3wks later.
I'm lucky my old BP6 dual celeron machine works fine and I hadn't ported critical operations such as email to the K7D system yet.
    I'm hoping they send me a board in 3-4wks (that isn't broken :( )
How come Bios V1.6 was withdrawn? I wonder if we'll ever get manual multipliers above 12.5?
I'm going to order a Zalman Northbridge chipset cooler without fan as they're supposed to work 2-3 degrees cooler than the OE heatsink but you have to use the OE pins to hold it on and use Arctic Silver 3 paste, which won't remove your warrantee. Pretty cheap too: http://www.ncix.com/canada/productdetail.php?sku=9081

  • All MSI R9 270x gaming 2g are corrupt! NEED CALL BACK FROM MSI!

    Yea!
I got a BAD MSI R9 270x 2g gaming card.. I have switch it for a new one same model many times and still have that artifact problem I have REINSTALL MY PC 10X with windows 8.1 64bit (maybe this video card is not working with windows 8.1 64bit...)
And don't say the standard apology "its your power supply" thats inpossible I have an Enermax Revolution87+ ERV750AWT-G and I tried on an other PC and still the same ISSUE with the last 14.4 driver and the old MSI DRIVER 13 MY PC work with I7 4770K (not OC yet) O yea I have only 1 GPU and not in CrossFIRE!
And yea there is no new Vbios available... And AMD is in SLAX MODE with making a NEW DRIVER!
So HOW TO FIX THIS PROBLEM ?? I can't switch my video card in store everytime they will think ?? AGAIN! WITH THE SAME PROBLEM!?
And you know I'm not the only person that is angry on MSI with this corrupt VIDEO CARD MODEL!
Maybe (you MSI )need to ask all MSI R9 270x gaming 2g (With Serial number XXXXXXXX)back from costummers and give us a new one without PROBLEMS for free!
I WILL REALY BURN MY VIDEO CARD WITH FIRE! AND BUY NEVER A MSI AGAIN! If there is no solution for this corruption..

This is a USER to USER forum and no one from MSI is here so you will get no reply from them by posting on this forum >>How to contact MSI.<<
if you want someone to help you please supply us a list of all the parts your using please! (if you have had Multiple cards and all are showing artefacts something else is going wrong could be RAM, Driver (13.12 is usually the most stable as the 14.xx versions have some Bad bugs in them) or a Faulty PSU (if its not the RAM or Drivers then its usually that))
Also between installing drivers please wipe out the old ones completely using this >>Driver Fusion<< in safe mode to clean out any fragments the normal AMD un-installer leaves behind like Regestery keys and Profiles ect!
so please follow this >>Posting Guide<< and give us a list of the parts your using please!

    Hello dear people of MSI,
I was wondering if you could check out following problems

    http://forums.overclockers.co.uk/showindex.php?s=ba699dfb6cfba51384ff361e1596328b&threadid=17236172&perpage=30&pagenumber=1
these are posts made by me and other users I have come into contact with. All my problems are also their problems, and some of them are very serious(AGP/PCI lock failing when FSB reaches 220 fsb etc, and as result a fried videocard and lost data). As stated on that MSI forum above customers are have having the greatest problems accomplishing a mere 10% overclock on very good cooling. This is just a sign that there are problems that really need to be worked out, especially when your other socket 754 boards are so good?
So plz look over the links listed and read them, plz do not send me a standard mailingreply back but for once just try and help your customers who have bought your product in good faith. The way it is happening now is that there are alot(yes we are talking 1000's)of users who are growing angry with the lack of support they are getting.
All this word of mouth can only be bad for your company, not adressing the real issues at hand only makes people more reluctant to ever buy MSI again. I and many other users would like to know when you hope to fix these problems with the K8N Neo platinum. You made such a good board in the Neo FISR-2 and it performs flawlessly up to 300fsb so why not the K8N cuz this one failes for some users even at anything over 218?
keep me posted on any updates and fixes that are coming soon, I have bios revision 1.1 as you see but so far none of the bioses around fix these major issues(referring here to the beta bioses, 1.13 and 1.2 beta 5 and 12).
Hoping to hear a positive reaction from you,
    regards,
    Peter

    I. Read the Manual
Most users have tendency not to read the manual under the presumption that they already know what is written in there. However, we have seen that there are percentage of technical support calls & e-mails as a result of not reading the manual??
II. Keep your MSI CD drivers
MSI CD drivers provide easy driver installation via auto-run. Losing it would require you to install driver manually?
    III. Contact your Reseller
Your reseller or the store/company that sold the motherboard or system to you should know well what your system contains & have the necessary resources to help you in your problem. Since they can see your system clearly, it is easier for them to identify if your problem was caused of wrong installation or wrong assembly or defective product, etc. It would be advisable to contact your reseller for those having problems like system cannot power on or need to send board for repair
NOTE: there is a tiny percentage that the board might be defective & by contacting your reseller at an earlier time prevent your warranty being voided. Some resellers provide certain period of time for return/exchange, after that you have to either send the board to them for repair or you are on your own.??
    IV. Check our website
Some of the information you are looking for might be already posted in our website?
    V. Search in MSI Forum
Your problem might have encountered by another user in the forum or you might find answer in the Good Article forum with a lot of useful posts written by moderators & power users. You can also post a message there to get help?

So my question is, what is this W7030NMS.12C bios? When he says new bios, doesn't he actually mean beta??? Can someone clear this up for me. In the zipfile i got from them are two files,
W7030NMS.12C  --->> Which bios is this and how old is it? Does it fix temps, fix pci lock failure
AWFL833D.EXE  --->> Obviously the flash utility
If what they sent me is one of the bioses I spoke about in above quote(see : so far none of the bioses around fix these major issues(referring here to the beta bioses, 1.13 and 1.2 beta 5 and 12))then they don't do a good job of reading my actual mail;)
    regards,
    Capcom

Why are they so secretive about what they did in a new bios version, how can someone then know a thing??? I too would like to know what issues they have been adressing, but pretty soon I will start thinking the reason they don't say is cuz maybe they can't fix it:(:(

Icloud or itunes backup, only backs up app data, not the app itself.
so if you restore as new, then there is no app data on your phone, you start out new...

Can I set up my new iPad as new device with my original Apple id then transfer which apps etc I want later from my cloud, thank you

You can download the apps again by opening App Store app on the iPad and tap Purchased at the bottom. That will display all apps that you have previously purchased on that Apple ID and you can download any of them by using the icon to the right of each (icon of a cloud with a down arrow).

Hi ... I had to replace my iPad and I want restore from backup but I forgot my password, is there any way of recovering it?

Would the backup be password protected? I don't know ... After you restore from a back-up, and if you have passwords set up, would the newly restored iPad require a password or would it be "live" for 5 minute or however long the iPad was set to wait to require a password? Maybe wiser heads can advise...
