Restore the backup of your old computer to your new computer. Then when you sync all will work smoothly.

Syncing music from your ipod to a new computer and getting music from the new computer
I have an old ipod nano and I recently go a new mac book pro. I want to sync the music from the nano onto my mac book and then sync the music from my mac book on to my ipod. Please help
Do you have any ripped, non-purchased music? That is, music that you ripped off of CD's and imported into your iTunes library as opposed to buying from the iTunes Store. If you do not have any of this music, your solution is simple: connect your iPod to iTunes, then go to File>Devices>Transfer Purchases from "[iPod name]". All of the music from your iPod will be transferred onto your MacBook. After that, sync your iPod to get the music that is on your MacBook and not on your iPod, on your iPod.
If you do have ripped music, however, you will have a much more difficult time. Is this the case? -
I've recently purchased a macbook but my iphone 4 is synced with another computer. How can I sync with my new computer and keep my information?
Sync the iTunes content from the iPhone to the new computer.

And... launch iTunes on the new computer. From the menu bar click Store / Authorize This Computer. -

I have copied over my music files to a new computer and the music shows on itunes but wont play. When I track where the song is located it is reading the wrong information. How do I change this as Edit>Preferences has the right location?
Select one of the tracks with a broken link, press ctrl-i to Get Info. Say No when iTunes asks if you would like to locate the track, then look at the Summary tab for the location expects to find the file in.
Now try to locate the file in question. The two locations should give a clue as to what to do next.
Here is an example with a file I've deliberately moved from the new layout to the old pre-iTunes 9 layout.
This means iTunes is expecting to find the file at:
D:\iTunes\iTunes Media\Music\a-ha\Take On Me\01 Take On Me.mp3
but it isn't there because I've moved it to:
D:\iTunes\iTunes Media\a-ha\Take On Me\01 Take On Me.mp3
which is where it would have lived back in iTunes 8 (though the media folder would have been called iTunes Music back then as well).
If you can provide the expected and actual locations of a broken track I should be able to suggest the easiest way to resolve things.

am trying to sync my ipad with my computer and keep getting the following message: iTunes could not check for an update to the carrier settings in your ipad. an unknown error occurs (1631). what do I do??
The search bar can be very valuable...........
In using it, I found out other's have had this issue and it likely means you have a 3G iPad? If you do, go into settings and turn off cellular data, then try to update again and you should be OK........ -
I recently got a new computer and installed itunes from which had been saved onto an external drive - all music shows up in the library, however when I click on a song I receive this message "the song "abc" could not be used because the original file could not be found". What can I do?
I was given the option to locate the file where the song is held. If so select "locate" and direct it to the folder / file where the song is and open it. itunes then will give you the option to use this process to update all of your library. OK that as this will do it automatically instead of doing them one by one. I hope this helps.

I'm trying to sync my phone to my computer and keep getting error message "1140" just when it's about to finish. My updates are current. Thoughts?
Hi hannijin,
What version of the Mac OS X do you have on your computer? The version of iTunes that you can install is dependent on the operating system that you have. For example, the current version of iTunes requires OS X version 10.7.5 or later.

My Apple iPod Touch 4th Generation was stolen if the thief signed out of my iCloud account on the device will it go away on the web map on my computer and keep me from locking it remotely? I was asking my grandmother who works in apple tech support at at&t but she didnt know. so im hoping somebody will come by and say yes to my question because my iPod touch is still appearing in my iCloud.com account.
Yes. If it was signed out from iCloud, it will disappear from the Devices list in Find my iPhone.

Syncing to new computer and keeping directly downloaded files
I have a new computer, and my iPod touch is synced to my old one. I moved my iTunes library to the new computer, but have things that I downloaded directly onto my touch that are not on either computer. When I connect to my new computer, I get the message that since it is synced to another computer, everything on my touch will be erased and replaced with the stuff on the new computer. This is fine, except for the stuff I downloaded directly to the touch that I don't want to disappear. How can I start being able to sync to my new computer without losing my downloads?
Before you sync - File>transfer Purchases
In the future, you should always transfer anything you buy on the ipod touch to your computer so it can be part of your regular backup process. -

PSE adding it to a new computer and deleting it from the old one.
I purchased a new computer and want to put my PSE on it and delete my PSE from my old computer, but I don't know how to do it?
Always, always save the download, don't just run it, for situations like this. You can download PSE 10 here:
http://prodesigntools.com/photoshop-elements-10-direct-download-links-pse-premiere-pre.htm l
but you must follow the instructions exactly, even when they don't seem to make sense, or it won't work. You will need your serial number. -
Synching ipod with new computer and lost music
We just got a new computer and I finally got to hook up my ipod. I tried moving my songs from the ipod into itunes and they wouldn't transfer so now I am synching the ipod with the computer; however, I seem to have lost the original songs that I had on my ipod before I downloaded the new songs. Did I really lose my songs or are they there? If they are there, how do I find them?
ipod mini 4GB Windows XPIf you syncronised your iPod with a new and different library it will have erased your original songs. You could have a look at this post for possible solutions but there's no real guarantee you'll get anything back: Buegie - Recovering Songs
