I want the forced apps gone!

I am not going to EVER play Madden NFL 11 , watch anything from Block Buster, get anything from Amazon Kindle, etc., etc. Please, for the love of god Verizon, give us the common decency to pick what we want. I pay you an enormous amount of money for a phone every month. My cable tv bill is less than my phone bill even if I leave it on for the entire month. However, I can remove/block channels I dont want. I realize you make money from the forced apps, but it's at my additional expense. You guys certainly aren't hurting for cash. Again, I pay a premium price and I'm forced to subjected to your ads. Do you watch commercials on the premium tv channels like HBO or Showtime? No, you don't. Give me the **** uninstall option. End of rant.

This subject has been discussed and beaten to death, ad infinitum. (for many years now) It is not going to go away, and nothing you can say, (or rant about) will ever change it.
So either live with them or.......... ????

If the device has the same Apple ID signed onto the iTunes & App Store, then you can download any apps purchased under that Apple ID to that device.
I thought you were asking about a game and game statistics being shared between two devices with two separate players. What I said about that is that if it is under the same ID, then the game is going to have the same statistics on both devices, and any updates to those would be reflected in both places. So, two different players wouldn't be able to have separeate statistics if they were playing under the same Apple ID.

Google and Apple have apparently parted ways in the 'bundled apps' area.
If you don't like the bundled map app, then your option is to look for a replacement in the app store.

Don't want the Mac App Store

I'm one of those rare fruit (Mac) users who doesn't care for itunes or anything of the sort (I'm really not a Mac fan; I got the computer because I can abuse it more and have it still function with the solid state hard drive). I hate seeing updates for itunes. I imagine the Mac App Store is similar (although for the OS), and I don't want it. How do I install 10.6.6 without installing the Mac App Store?
Also, I read in another thread that a fruit can hibernate. How would I do this? I hate the battery drain when I put it to sleep, and frequently have a bunch of stuff open because I'm completing a long project, like a 60+ page paper that takes me multiple days, if not multiple weeks to complete. That's a good idea (leaving it plugged in all the time) aside from the fact that I'm cheap as heck. Being poor has something to do with it since I'm a grad student. When I'm not using my printer, can opener, toaster, etc. I unplug them or turn them off. Because of this, during the summer I'm able to have electric bills under 20 dollars a month for my apt. I used to even turn of my router every night when I wasn't using it but got fed up with resetting it every time. I also don't use air conditioning and live in KY (my asthmatic lungs react better to heat with humidity than dryness, and to save $). I know - I'm completely different than the norm, but I get by with my quirks. How much do you think it would cost me extra a year to leave my computer plugged in and "sleeping" every night?
If I go into itunes with the preferences, could I make it so itunes never looks for updates? Thanks again.

Hello. Ive never even wanted to use my time to do this. But this maps app is absolutly discusting. There are a couple cool things but for the most part its horrible. I drive for a living. So I use maps app all the time. This has affected how I do my job. Ill either get a android phone soon if apple doesnt fix this problem. I dont like that you have to redo your directions each time you shut your phone off instead of starting off were your current position is. I dont like that you cant swipe to the next turn you have to make so you can see ahead. I have no use for the 3D option. Thats cool for some and I understand that. But please take it back it to the way the old maps worked but keep the voice navigation. I do like the maps sceem. But people if this is not were I need to post this please let me know. email [email protected] email me people please if you can help me or tell me were to find were I can email apple so they can see this complaint. I dont want to sound like a complainer cause im not. I just dont like this new maps app. I love apple products. IOS is awesome.

They are actively working to improve the Apple Maps app.
It is extremely unlikely that you will get the Google Maps app back, as the built in app. Google may release an app one day in the app store.
You can alos look for other Map apps in the app store.

I want the whoosh sound gone when I send a text!!

I think it's ridiculous that you can't turn off the whoosh when a text has been sent. Regardless if others like this feature, a lot do not,and I am one of them. You can't be inconspicuous and it's not fair! I want it gone but there is no option for it!

Where has the NFC App gone?

Guys, I have the new gorgeous Lumia 830 and I am loving it (even though sometimes it switches itself off and then on again for no reason) and I connected it to my DT 900 charging stand. Now, with previous phone models it opened up automatically a nice app that showed the date/time and weather icon on the screen in a very vivid white. I loved it and it gave all the info I needed. But on the L830 this is gone now. Can anyone tell me if I can find this little app somewhere within the MS store?

I have read the other thread and, really, that is about not having the app at all but rather the fact that the guy has no calendar portion that he can see within the app; he does have the app and obviously not on 8.1. So for me, and you, we do not have this app at all and I am sure many other people would complain that have bought the DT-910 charging stand. As I have said before it is agreat little app and I hope that MS see fit to bring it back to the NFC charging stand because it is concise and displays all of the pertinent information that one could possible need in a nice little interface. I do have the choice to open one of my apps but this is useless becasue none of them provide information in such a way. We need seperate apps associated withthe charging producys such as the one that we already have with the car charging unit (which I also use every day); so please MS, please bring back this app to the NFC charging stand!

With the new upgrade i cant seem to find the music websites app on spotify anymore such as NME, Pitchfork and Guardian. They had their apps on spoitfy plus newely reviewed albums but i cnat find it on the new spotify now?

Part of my reason for selecting Spotify was the apps, and now that they're gone - I'm out looking for something to replace it with. As a premium paying person, I can find what Spotify delivers now nearly everywhere else, there's nothing compelling or better about the Spotify platform now. Personally, I used the Last.fm, Twitter music and some playlist apps heavily, now I'm left with Spotify's default discover feature which sucks so badly it's a joke to think it even delivers anything worthwhile. Finding good playlists or upcoming good singles like the Twitter Hunted list did, nope not going to find it. Edit: When I say looking for something to replace it with, I mean a competing music service.

Ever since the january upgrade came out, every time I connect my touch it brings up the apple store page asking me to buy the upgrade. I don't want it. But every time I click "No thanks", "An error occured. the iTunes store could not process your request, please try again later".

same thing here... its really making me mad.. I had to restore my whole ipod bc of the new software.. and i didnt even click to update it, it did it itself when i connected it...
