I want the jpg quality I made

I make perfect jpgs, but they show artifacts upon publishing.
When I look at "bitmap properties", I check "use document
default settings" because I made the jpgs at high quality.
Then I look at flash "publish settings" and it's always on
80. So what, doesn't bitmap properties override?
Worse, when I change that to 100, the pictures are better.

Then I looked for a general preference. Under PSD file
importer > publish settings > lossy> use publish settings.
Again, aren't the publish settings the high-quality jpgs I made?
Anyway I changed that to loss-less. Are my files sized going to
balloon?
Why aren't the multiple indications of document default
quality priority?
Any explanation anyone?

Try following this tutorial, Tutorial No.iP08, Archiving an iPhoto 9 (11) Book for Later Editing/Ordering to get a miminal library with just the book and its photos in it. It should be small enough so you can copy the library to a CD or DVD and give the disk to whomever you want. They can then copy the library from the disk to their Desktop, open it with iPhoto and order the books themselves.
In the future I suggest you create a new library for each book. Photos for the book cam be copied from your working library to the book library with iPhoto Library Manager. This makes it easier to preserve the book for later ordering if desired.

It depends on what you want as an end result.
iMovie is an editing program so that you can crop your movies, add titles, effects, transitions, add still photos and audio files.
iDVD is an authoring program so that you can create a burned DVD disk of your videos, photos, etc. You create your movies in iMovie and then drop the finished movie into an iDVD project to burn it to a DVD disk so that you/others can view it on a TV from a set-top DVD player. iDVD has to compress data when it is burned, so you don't want to be burning DVDs to preserve your home videos if you want to edit them later in iMovie.
If you just want to burn them to back them up and you don't want/need to do any editing, you might want to look into just using a stand-alone DVD recorder. You could connect your dig8 camcorder and record to DVD disk directly.
You can also use iDVD to create slideshows and burn them.

Again, it depends on what end result you want. Some people think that they want to import all their video footage into iMovies, and save all of it on their computers. However, that requires HUGE amounts of drive space. Each of my iMovies runs from 25-60 GB. It is better to import the footage for each movie at a time, as you work on your iMovie.
A large external drive just for doing movies is a great idea. Get as large a drive as you can afford! Be sure to format it for macs first before importing anything. Keep the iMovie and iDVD apps on your main drive.
I. Save your original raw digital 8 tapes. Data is already in digital format. Be sure to keep your camcorder so you can reimport if you want. If you really want a back up for these original tapes, you can connect your dig 8 camcorder to a miniDV camcorder and record to miniDV tapes. I did this for my VHS tapes as they were getting too old and I was concerned about further degradation. I like having a digital format of my original video VHS and Hi 8 tapes. This may not be necessary for you since all your tapes are already digital.
2. Import videos into iMovie, doing just one movie at a time to save drive space, edit, then export the movie to miniDV tapes with a miniDV camcorder. This process gives you tape(s) of your EDITED iMovie. I use these tapes as a backup for my iMovies, since I delete my iMovies after exporting them and after I have burned my DVD of that movie. (See next).
3. Create iDVD projects from edited iMovies, do 'save as disk image' for each one so that you have an image file of all your projects. Since disk images are self-contained, you can safely delete the original iMovie and iDVD projects without losing the ability to burn DVDs in the future. It also saves drive space. Use the disk image file for the actual burning of the DVD disk, using Disk Utility.
Now you have a set of raw original tapes, a set of edited mini DV tapes, a burned DVD and the disk image file of each project. You should copy all the disk images to another external drive as a backup.
I don't worry about backing up the DV tapes, as I can always reimport them. The tapes are small and store easily. It is recommended for longer life of the tapes that you get them out once a year and rewind them, but I have not been doing that.
Yes, you can take one of your burned DVD disks and create a disk image from it, and use it to burn more disks, but that means that your future burns depend on that disk staying in good shape until you want it. DVD disks can crack, break, melt, etc depending on who uses them. I prefer to know that my disk images are saved and backed up for when I need them.

HOW DO I GET THE BEST QUALITY RESULT!?!!?

I have a canon GL2 and when I plug it in directly to the TV and watch my footage the quality is great, I then upload it to Final Cut and the quality is somewhat there, but when I go to export it I can never achieve the quality that it gets when I hook up the camera directly to the TV, and roll the tape. How do I export using compressor or not, to get the best quality, I dont care how big the file size I just need the quality!!! Thank you in advance for the help!

It depends on what format you want to output to.
If you just want the best quality, then output to 10-bit Uncompressed quicktime - the files will be huge though.
Do you need to output back to tape, DVD or something else?
Also, make sure that you have the right settings in your sequences, so you don't loose any quality there.

In addition to pixel density, you are up against the translation driver card in the TV.
If you read the fine print of computer-resolution-capability in the TV user guide, you will see a chart as tall as the manual page. At the top is the smallest resolution capable, at the bottom is the full use of the 1080p in the TV.
Mac falls into the top 25% of the page, maxing out at 1366x768 often. This is because the TV control card is expected to do too much of the work, but is not designed for computer-monitor processing.
I looked at the resolution charts on 2 TVs before deciding to buy a 1080p LCD monitor that has a TV interface/connector. Computer monitor first, TV second. But the thing is only 27 in. Good thing TV is not as important to me as it is to others.

In the Print & Scan system preferences, does it indicate it is using a generic printer driver or a Gutenprint driver?
Also, if you click on Options & Supplies, you might want to check and see if has to be enabled. That kind of sounds odd though.
Another thing is it might not be showing. If the bottom of the print dialog has a button that says "Show Details," click it. Then, you can change settings in the popup menu.

My old emails address which I have used as my apple id for 10 years is being made redundant. I have changed the email address to a new gmail one and this is my new apple id. But my iMac has not recognised this. It keeps saying it wants the password for my old email address. I have seen some advice on these forums which suggest signing out of iCloud and then back in again. But when I start doing this it asks me if i want all the photos deleted that have not been downloaded onto the mac.
I have had an iCloud account for quite sometime and I'm afraid of losing everything in my cloud if i sign out and sign in with a new id.
Is this fear realistic?
I know I can change back to my old email, sign out and then sign in wight he new one...

This did not work for me. My old email account for iCloud still pops up on my screen every time I open my macbook. I've deleted it, reset it, every thing I can think of and it still shows up. I think six months of this is more than enough time to wait.

Hey Sierra, You can do just what you have stated. My question, what is your "other"? If it is over 1.5 GB you most likely have corrupt files. Doing a Restore to New, Factory restore should correct it. Just make sure you make a full backup of all information on your iPod to your computer before you restore, so you don't lose your stuff, contacts, videos, pictures, non-iTunes music, etc, use the cable and connect with your computer. Then, via cable, connect to your computer, run the Restore to new, don't use your backup. Treat this iPod as if it was your first one ever. When restore is done, set up and add what info you wish to install on this iPod. The music apps etc you purchased should be on your computer, if not you should be able to retrieve purchased apps and music from iTunes. Any music, videos, apps not purchased from iTunes will be lost to you if you do not save them to your computer or the cloud first. When your done, make a current Backup and you should good to go. may be you are trying to modify the database item or reassigning the database item value which is not actually needed.
try to comment the reassigning database values
and give clear_form(do_commit);
most probably u will not get the message again

I'm developing a custom master-detail form for 11i e-Business Suite. The requirement is to programmatically default values for some of the base table items when entering the master record.. Both the master and the detail blocks are base table blocks and defined the relation between these 2 as well..
So i have coded my defaulting logic in the "when-new-record-instance " trigger only when the "(:system.record_status IN ('NEW','INSERT' ) AND :system.mode <> 'ENTER-QUERY')"..
This is working but the problem is even when i do not change any values in the master block and i try to exit out of the form, getting a message "Do you want to save the changes you have made ".. I want to get that message only when some thing else is changed/entered in the master block or when any new detail records has been entered for that master block.

It sounds like you have a Post-Query (PQ) trigger that is populating items in your Form. This is the typical reason why you would see this message when you close your form and no User changes have been made. The best solution would be to move your non-base table items from your data blocks to a control block so the PQ trigger won't mark the block or record as "Changed".

Problem : I have a master detail relation between two blocks which are on different window ( say block 1 on window 1 is master and block 2 on window 2 is detail) ,
when i open my window 2 and close it without any changes, then when i try to do any change in window 1 i get this popup message "Do you want to save the changes you have made".
I have various non database items as well which are used to hold intemediate values like sum of a column and all.
for the close button on window 2 logic :
go_block('BLOCK1');
hide_window('WINNDOW1');
I dont want to change the message level. as if there are really changes made then we need this message.
In another thread i saw this might be due to copy "value from property" created by master detail relation on the joined columns.
Please suggest any solutions.

HI I found the solution to this Problem:
when we queried the data block then few items values were assigned . this changes the block_status to CHANGED as well as the form_status variable to CHANGED.
so in EXIT logic of that window i cleared each block explicitly . this discards all the changes made to those blocks ( This logic was implemented for CANCEL button on my screen as so we need not save the data) while the SAVE logic already has the COMMIT so will not set the popup for that.
Not a beautiful logic...... but works ...... :)

That is if you shot in 720p you cannot export in 1080p.
Share > YouTube and select the highest resolution available.
