I want the red bubble on my iChat icon back!

The red bubble used to pop up on my iChat icon in my dock everytime I got a message; it also stated how many messaged I'd received. Now, out of nowhere, it isn't popping up anymore. The iChat icon now only bounces very slowly when i get a message and the red bubble doesn't come up anymore. (Not to mention the fact that the iChat icon doesn't bounce as fast as it used to.) Please help me get the red bubble back. Thanks.

The red Messages indicator badge only works when iChat (or Messages) is not a the "Front" application.
(it does not quite work the same way as the Mail one).

How can I make the red unread messages bubble go away? I have no unread messages and I can't stand seeing the red bubble.

I am on the latest 10.10.1 Yosemite, but this problem has happened to me on previous operating systems. On my dock I have a red bubble that says I have unread messages waiting. When I go to messages, I have no unread items. I even went as far and deleted every single conversation. The bubble went away but returned quickly.
I cannot stand to look at the red bubble. I hate ever having red bubbles on anything because I am type A and it drives me insane. Please help. I find it very distracting.

You can simply turn it off.

What does the red bubble mean that appears near the phone symbol then moves over temporarly to the VM symbol, when first turning the phone on. It goes away with a few seconds

It means you have no signal, or if on the VM icon, it means to visual voicemail. Sounds like you're just getting it temporarily until the phone establishes a signal.

Updated to iTunes 11.1 and many of my podcasts were, as far as I can tell, deleted from my account. 'This American Life' in particular, cannot be redownloaded for free and I want the unlistened podcasts I accrued to come back! Any tips or suggestions?

What really cheeses me off here is that Apple isn't allowing users enough customization. With each update of iTunes (and the OS and iOS) we're forced to give up something that worked well for the way we want to use the app and make do with fewer (and lamer) options. If Apple keeps this up, they're going to start losing customers fast. I mean if this isn't fixed soon, I'm pretty sure I'm going to give up on iTunes, and then I'll probably go ahead and get a Galaxy when I need to replace my iPhone.
What I don't understand about how they won't let users delete the list of available podcasts now is why? How is this making it a better program? I can understand that not all users are capable enough to right-click on a feed and select "Show all available episodes", so I can see why they want the complete list to be the default (and, surprise, it already was). But to not give users the option to delete that list? It's inconsiderate because it makes navigating feeds with a large back catalogue really frustrating. I'm flabbergasted that no one at Apple considered all the podcast feeds that keep hundreds of episodes available when they removed this feature. It smacks of rank incompetence.
What improvement were they trying to make here anyway? There was nothing wrong to my mind about how podcasts were managed in previous versions. Whatever improvement they were trying to make here, they should have realized that many users would at least want the option to keep things the way they were.
And reverting to a previous version is no solution. I can't sync my iPhone with the new iOS without this update, and (while I do have some issues--specifically how you can't play podcasts in the Music app anymore) I do like the new iOS.

I just had this problem and this is how I resolved it (with the help of an Apple tech)
Go into setings and see if you have Celular Data turned on.
Settings / General / Cellular - Then turn Cellular Data to ON

Contact YOUR OWN carrier (provider/the company you pay for cellular service) and tell them about your problem with listening to your voicemails. They should be able to reset it for you.
To delete voicemails: Go to voicemail, choose a voicemail, and swipe left. The "delete" option will appear.

I want the red badge to appear on my app but I don't have push notifications.

I have a crazy Client, that wants a badge notification to appear on this app, but she does not have an Urban Airship account. I know I can get a badge if I refresh, or launch it and down make a download, and I know that only people who permit notificaitons on their devices will get it....but how can I get it to show without launching it?
If there is no way to get the badge up, can I resubmit the app and change the screenshot and get a push right from Apple of the badge? If not, how much of the code do I need to change before I resubmit......and if I resubmit, assuming the code change - will that even force the badge? I'm confused about what I have to change for an 'upgrade' and assumign I do those things..........do I still need Urban Airship or will the badge just appear from Apple?
Bottom line is, I need that badge on this app, and I don't know how to get it....!

I want the "do not ask me again" box back.

I accidentally checked the "do not ask me again" box on the pop up box that appeared when I plugged in an HDMI cord (connecting to my tv). How do I get it back? It was in reference to allowing what I'm playing on the tv stay in full screen mode while I used the laptop for other things.

Try the 'report a problem' link from your purchase history : log into your account on your computer's iTunes via Store > View My Account (Store > View My Apple ID on iTunes 11) and you should then see a Purchase History section with a 'see all' link to the right of it ; click on that and you should see a list of your purchases ; find that audiobook, click the arrow to the left of it, click the 'Report a Problem' button :
and then the 'Report a Problem' link on its line :
and select 'inadvertently purchased' (I'm assuming that there is 'inadvertent' option for audiobooks, there is for apps and music) as the problem and fill in the details (iTunes support should reply within, I think, about 24 hours).

Seriously want to get a pureview, but in red only. Anyone knows when it is coming out? Are they trying to do what Samsung did with their Galaxy S2 (white) which came out months later to boost the sales? I'm not sure if I can last till then as I might very well just get a iPhone 5.

Im having the same problem. I live in the netherlands and i can order a black or white one and have it home tomorrow, yet the red one doesnt seem to exist here. I really want the red one. By now i found an online store which claims to be able to deliver a red pureview. so i just ordered one. But their site still says it is in backorder. Please nokia i hope you can make me happy with the most awesome phone ever built. I hope you can send red pureviews out to shops so i can get my order home not too long from now.

My new mail notification red bubble won't pop-up in my dock?

Why doesn't the red bubble with the number of new messages in my Mail Inbox pop-up in my dock on the Mail Icon when I get new messages?

Do you actually have an unread message count showing in the Inbox (in the grey oval next to the mailbox name) when you don't see the red badge in the Dock icon? Note that Mail must be running to update the Dock icon, & it only shows the unread message count of messages in the Inbox(es) -- unread messages in other mailboxes won't add to the count, nor will any message that is marked as read.

Take your MBP to an Apple store or an AASP for a definitive diagnoses. I suspect you may have a GPU problem.
