I want ti reset my apple TV

I want to rest my apple TV. I run diagnostics and everything is ok.
All I want to do is reset.
I tried to reset using the remote control by pushing menu and - at the same time for 6 six seconds. I got nothing. Is there anything else to do? Is my apple TV gone?

Hi, I have a very similar issue with my ATV. I wish to know how Pedro resolverd his issue.
My ATV is trapped in a very strange loop. Here is a list of things that I see happening.
I've been using my ATV for a couple of years now and it has always worked perfectly well.
Last night I turned on my ATV and instead of going straight to the menu screen I saw a list of languages. That was already strange because that has never happened before.
I tried on selecting English but the ATV wouldn’t respond so I pressed the “menu” button on the remote and the arrow pointing down to reset it. (btw, the led on the ATV is solid white).
The ATV resets and it takes me again to the list of languages. I select English (now it works) and it takes me to another screen, that gives me 3 options: Restart, Run Diagnostics and Factory Restore.
If I hit Restart, it will reboot and take me back to the list of languages and my remote won't work, so I have to reset it again by pressing Menu + arrow down.  this goes straight into the loop that I mentioned before.
If I hit Diagnostics, the system will do a check, it tells me that the ATV is working fine and then it takes me back to the screen with the 3 options. Still in the loop.
If I hit Factory Restore it will take me as well to the list of languages and my remote won't work.
As you can see I am trapped in a loop/circular reference and I don’t know how to get out of it…
Now all i want to do is reset my ATV to factory settings but I cant.
Please tell me what to do?

I have mini USB cords but no micro USB cords. The instructions on the Apple website assume that the customer has a micro USB by stating, "Connect one end of the micro-USB cable to the back of your Apple TV, and the other end to one of your computer's USB ports." As a customer, I understand by the language used that I should have the micro USB included with the Apple TV. If we are to supply our own micro USB cables, a re-wording of the instructions would alleviate any misunderstandings. Apple should start out by writing, "You will need to obtain a micro USB cord separetely from the Apple TV."
