I want to add 1 playlist to my ipod

I used to be able to add a singe playlist to my iPod by dragging and dropping within iTunes. How does one add a single playlist to an iPod without removing any music already on the iPod?

Drag and drop the playlist to the iPod within iTunes.

Yes, I was aware of this but the phrase "Any items imported from audio CDs or acquired from other sources will not copy from your device to the iTunes library." is what worries me.  Will this eliminate my Notes, Calendar Events, etc or will it apply mostly just to the music?

I want to add a CD to my IPod Classic, the CD has been loaded into my library but my iPod is not showing on i-tunes and I can't get the CD onto my iPod.

Well if your iPod is not appearing under Devices in iTunes when you have it plugged into a high powered USB 2.0 port, then that would explain why this newly loaded CD has not synced to it yet.
Have you carefully worked through each and every single suggestion in this Apple support document?

  • I want to create a playlist on my iPod Touch; when I choose Add Songs,

I am trying to create a playlist on my iPod Touch; I have added songs to my playlist; and when I press the Done button, nothing happens & I cannot cancel or do anything else.

Authorize that computer in the Store menu of iTunes. If it's a rented movie and you've already authorized a different computer for it, go to that computer.

  • I have over 5000 songs on my ipod and can not see a way of keeping them if I want to set up a new itunes libary. I want to add my tunes from my ipod to a new itunes libary without it saying it will wipe what I already have. please help

    Hi everyone.
I had an itunes account for my classic and a few months ago wanted to add my daughters ipod to it. it told me when i pluged hers in 2 ipods could not use the same account and asked me if i wanted it to link her ipod and delete the current libary. like a fool i said yes. now i have a party comming up and cant plug my classic in without it saying if i sync it will wipe my 6000 songs and leave me with the new blank itunes that i have just set up.
what i want to do is add my 6000 songs to a new apple id libary/itunes without it wiping all my songs. does anyone know how to do this.
    help thanks

Since all of your music came from your computer in the first place, then it should still be there and should be included in your backup copy of your computer.
" it told me when i pluged hers in 2 ipods could not use the same account"
This is not true.  You have misunderstood.
You can sync as many ipods/iphones/ipads as you like to one one library.

  • HT1535 I want to load a playlist onto an iPod Shuffle that plays in a specific order. (The ipod is not on the shuffle mode but it keeps changing the desried order. I'm going crazy!

I've created a playlist in iTunes for someone in a specific order. I've bought them an iPod shuffle and have downloaded the playlist onto the iPod. Unfortunately, the iPod shuffle then reorders the paylist and it also plays in another order. The shuffle function is switched off, so I don't elieve it is anything to do with that!
It's driving me crazy! Please help!!!

Which shuffle model do you have?  This document shows the four types
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1719
Assuming it is the current 4th gen shuffle (or 3rd gen), if you want to play songs from a playlist on the shuffle, in playlist order, you need to use VoiceOver to switch to that playlist.  By default, the shuffle plays songs from the All Songs list.  When you set the power switch to play-in-order, the All Songs list plays songs alphabetically.
This document explains how to set up and use VoiceOver on the shuffle.
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ht4322
If that playlist is selected, and the power switch is set to play-in-order, the shuffle plays the songs in playlist order.

  • HT1539 can i add my digital copy to itunes with out using the disk? my netbook does not have a disk drive and i want to add my movie to my ipod can i do it with out the use of the disk and just the code?

Is there a way to add my movie to my iPod touch 2nd generation tuning 4.2.1

    Hiya!
It depends on what kind of digital copy you have.  This article goes ino details regarding the two types, and depending on the type you have, you may or may not need the DVD to redeem the code.

  • I have rhapsody25 and want to import my playlists onto my ipod 2 - can I?

I have a free rhapsody account (rhapsody25) - not a subscription.  I want to imort that music onto my ipod.  The rhapsody app said I had to have a subscription.  How can I get my rhapsody music onto my ipod?

    Brett,
The Rhapsody subscriptions are not compatible with iTunes.
If you have purchased any regular MP3s from Rhapsody, they can be added to your iTunes library and synced to your iPod in the normal fashion.

  • How do I add a Playlist to my Ipod in Itunes 12?

I have several playlists I created in ITunes 10 or 11 that are configured to sync to my Ipod, but in ITunes 12 I cannot figure out how to change the list of playlists that sync with my Ipod.  Help!

    Connect your iPod
Click on the iPod icon (top left of screen)
Click on Music (under Settings, not On My Device) in the sidebar
Make sure that the Sync Music checkbox and the Selected playlists, artists, albums and genres radio button are selected.
You'll then see a list of all the playlists and playlists in your library.  Check those that you want to sync, then click Apply (bottom right of screen).

  • I can't add 2 playlists to my ipod and keep them separate, always merge

let me preface this with I am new to ipod/itunes. i loaded a fair amount of music on itunes, and created several playlists. i have one playlist that is really fast music for cardio and another that is harder rock for weightlifting. initially, i was able to load roughly 40-45 songs from each playlist, with the two groups staying separate. i decided to change the songs after a few months and now when i load music from the two playlists, they always merge. i am extremely frustrated and want to find a way to keep them separate. any help greatly appreciated.

Positive, the 1st and 2nd Generation Shuffles only do one playlist.
You can put them in the order you want to load in iTunes and then sync but there have been reports of a problem with getting the correct order. Make sure your firmware on your Shuffle is up to date.

  • How do I add a song or playlist to an ipod touch on someone elses computer?

I'm borrowing my brother's ipod touch for a week and I want to add a playlist from my itunes library on my computer (not the computer my brother stores his music on.) How do I do this without erasing all of his music?

You cannot sync and do this.
You could manually manage the music and click and drag, I believe. Although that may erase the music as well.

There is no official way to get transfer music from
the iPod using iTunes, but there are loopholes.
    Check out the instructions/suggestions here.
    Music from iPod to computer.
There's also another method I've seen posted. I've
successfully tested this across several different
    Windows PCs.
    Open iTunes and select
    edit/preferences/advanced/general. Put a check mark
in the box marked "copy files to iTunes music folder
when adding to library" and also "keep iTunes music
    folder organized", then click 'ok'.
Connect the iPod whilst holding down the shift/ctrl
keys to prevent any auto sync, and if you see the
dialogue window asking if you want to sync to this
    itunes library, click 'no'.
Then go to file/add folder, open 'my computer',
select your iPod and click 'ok'.
The music files should transfer to your iTunes.
However it appears that no playlists or any other
info such as ratings/last played etc will transfer.
If this is important to you, you may want to use
    other options.
    There's Yamip
od. This is a free program that transfers music
and playlists etc from iPod to iTunes.
You can eject the iPod by clicking on the little
eject icon next to the iPod listing in the source
window of iTunes, or right click on it and select
“eject”. There is also an iPod 'eject' icon in the
lower right hand corner of iTunes. Another way would
be to use the “safely remove hardware” icon in the
system tray next to the clock (looks like a grey
rectangle with a green arrow above it). Click on
this then select your iPod. Or through Windows,
select start/my computer, right click on the iPod,
    select eject.
thank you so much for your help!! Greatly appreciated!

  • How do I add a playlist in iPod?

How do I add a playlist in my iPod?
Whenever I add a new playlist in my iTunes (File > New Playlist), it doesn't seem to appear in my iPod. I tried synchronizing my iPod, because whenever I do so, the songs automatically appear in their appropriate folders (such as My Top Rated, Recently Played, and Top 25 Most Played). I'll show you what my iTunes bar looks like with my iPod connected:
    http://img522.imageshack.us/img522/3060/ituneszz6.png
Notice that my "Favorites" playlist does not appear under my Devices/Lush (my iPod's name haha) section.
Also, how do I make a "Recently Added" playlist where I don't have to manually copy and paste my songs? I mean, I know it's under File > New Smart Playlist. But I don't really know how to do it...
I had: Date Added (then there's a bunch of phrases such as 'is', 'is not', 'is after', 'is before'...etc...)
    I don't know what it's talking about.
Please help me. I do appreciate a speedy reply. Thanks!

For recently added smart playlist set rule to 'date added is in the last 2 weeks' or any other time you like. 2 weeks is the default. It should have already been created for you.
For you sync problem. I am not sure. You say that syncing starts automatically when iPod is plugged in. This indicates you are set to auto sync, it which case new playlists should transfer automatically. But, if you are set to sync selected playlists then you would have to select the favourites playlist for it to transfer.
