I want to back up my photos, how do I find out the total size of all photos in Adobe Elements?

I have windows 7 and adobe elements 8. I need to have my computer do a backup and have a large amount of photos in Elements. I would like to know how large the file is so that I can know how big of a flash card or how many dvds I will need.

You're backing up hundreds or thousands of files:  There's the catalog (database) itself and also the media files.
In PSE10, when doing a backup, PSE displays the size of the backup before you begin the actual backup:
I assume PSE8 will have something similar.

  • How do I find out the file size of my photos, and change them to the size

This will sound inane, but I cannot figure out where to find the file size of my photos in iPhoto. I need a jpeg of a certain file size and image size for my blog background, but can't figure out how to even start.

If the limited quality options do not get you the file size you need export the full size image files to a folder on your Desktop and use Resize! to batch resize the image dimensions and file size (jpeg compression level) to what you need.
With Resize! you can fine tune the pixel dimensions and file size.

Do you mean in iPhoto on the MacBook Pro?
The dimensions (width and height iin pixels)are shown in the "Info" panel - multiply the two numbers:

P.S: on an IOS device you see the same information in iPhoto, when you select the photo in an album and click th Info button ( i ).

How can i find out the file size of a Keynote on an iPad please?

I think a rule of thumb is what you're looking for.
Full bandwidth CD audio (AIFF): about 10 MB/min
    Apple Lossless: about 5 MB/min
    MP3 @ 256k: about 2 MB/min
    MP3 @ 128k: about 1 MB/min
Of course the MP3 file size is exactly linear with bit rate.
    As for sound quality:
Apple Lossless is, as the name says, lossless.
MP3 @128k: fine for listening in the car or the kitchen etc. If you have an audiophile sound system, this will remind you why you spent all that money.
MP3 @256K: barely distinguishable from CD on very good equipment.
MP3 @320K: probably not distinguishable from CD.
I presume that since you're talking about importing classical CDs these are ones you own. Remember you can always do it again if you need higher fidelity or if better technology comes out. I import most CDs at 128k, since most of my MP3 listening is in the car, or walking, or as background. And I can always play the CD if I want to sit and listen.
The logic for purchased music is totally different -- you probably won't get to upgrade that without buying it some different way. So buying 128k MP3s (or AACs) is something you'll probably regret later. Buying 256k MP3s is a lot less problematic.

  • How can I find out the screen size of the users moniter using the Acrobat SDK?

How can I find out the screen size of the users moniter using the Acrobat SDK? I need to know how much sreen real estate that is available on the users moniter. Is there some call that I can make from the SDK to discover the maximun X and Y coordinates?
    Thanks,
    Gregory

Currently, I am testing on multiple moniters and it is defaulting to the moniter designated as the #1 moniter. For our purposes, this is acceptable. Once the two documents have loaded, the user can move and re-size at will.

  • How do I find out the size of a file, trying to make a DVD and told the fil

Made a slide show project with music and trying to write to dvd. Computer tells me the file is to large and to use a dual sided disk. I cut may slides out but no luck. How do you find out the file size?

    Hi
And SlideShows has a limit of 99 slides per show.
I rather assemble mine in iMovie HD 6 where as QuickTimeKirk states
it only has Time as a limit dep. on encoding method selected and if Single or Double layer DVDs
Single Layer (for DL double time) - TIME includes menu - keeping it simple gives more to movie.
(I prefere "Brushed Metal" no audio, no animation.)
    • Professional Quality (movies up to 120 min.) - BEST
    • Best Performances (movies less than 60 min.) - High quality on final DVD
    • High Quality (in iDVD08) / Best Quality (in iDVD6) (movies up to 120 min.) - slightly lower quality than above

  • How to I find out the photos SIZE in inches. It will give the the resolution

How to I find out the photos SIZE in inches. It will give the the resolution of the image and the file size.

In iPhoto, images don't have a size in inches until you use them. Until then it is just the pixel size. If you know the pixel size and resolution you calculate it this way:
If the image size is 5184 x 3486 (like my Canon T3i, you divide the size in pixels by the resolution in pixels per inch to get the actual length, so for some common resolutions:
    Res Width Height
    --         5184     3486
    300      17.3      22.6
    220       23.6     15.8
    72          72       48.4
So, as you can see, iPhoto is probably correct in ignoring file size for most recent digital cameras. There is plenty of resolution for almost any size you want to print.

  • HT204120 Iphone shows 96 photos, sync memory show 1130 photos how do I find out what they are and get rid of them

iphone shows 96 photos, how do i find what is using my memory for photos and get rid of them

You're looking in the wrong place.  The "96 photos" are in iPhoto on your Mac and are being synced to your phone.  This doesn't include all those taken on the phone.
To see the total number of photos on your phone:
    Settings > General > About > Photos >
To see how much memory photos are using:
    Settings > General > Usage > Storage > Manage Storage >Photos & Camera
    To select what to delete:
For photos taken on the phone:  Photos > select photo you want to delete > trashcan on bottom.  Note that deleted photos are stored in the Recently Deleted album for 30 days.  To delete them immediately, select them again from that album > delete or select Delete All
For photos synced to your phone from your computer, deselect them in iTunes and sync again.  They can't be deleted directly on the phone.

  • How to find out the database-size

    Hello,
how can I find out the size of the database.
I created the user as below. I defined the size of the database to 2MB. Now I want to know how much is the size of the database.
    CREATE USER oemer
    IDENTIFIED BY ...
    DEFAULT TABLESPACE system
    QUOTA 2M ON system;

Actually, since Omer is a veteran poster to the Forms and Reports forums, I doubt that. I think he is making a much more interesting journey: from front-end to back-end.
I'll be a bit more helpful this morning.
Databases are ways of organising disk space to store data. Fundamentally they consist of OS files, data files. The RDBMS handles by grouping them into tablespaces. When we build tables we assign them to a tablespace.
So, the size of the database is the sum of its datafiles. Of course, some tablespaces are used for sorting and holding undo information, so the size of the database for the purposes of persisting data is:
    SELECT count(x.tablespace_name) AS total_TS, sum(x.MB) AS total_mb, sum(x.free_mb) AS total_free_mb
    FROM   ( SELECT t.tablespace_name, sum(d.bytes)/1048576 AS mb, sum(f.bytes)/1048576 AS free_mb
             FROM   dba_free_space f, dba_data_files d, dba_tablespaces t
             WHERE  t.contents = 'PERMANENT'
             AND    d.tablespace_name = t.tablespace_name
             AND    d.file_id = f.file_id
             GROUP  BY t.tablespace_name ) x
/The SYSTEM tablespace is special. It is used by Oracle to hold the data dictionary, the definitions of all the objects in the database. It should not be used for storing application objects (it affects the performance, apatrt from anything else). That is why we must not use it as a default tablespace.
    CREATE USER oemer
    IDENTIFIED BY ...
    DEFAULT TABLESPACE ts_users
QUOTA 2M ON ts_users; Cheers, APC

  • How can i find out the resolution and accuracy of PXI-6602 module?

I have a 32 bit  8 channel PXI-6602 counter module.  PXI card is interfaced to PC with MXI-4 link. How can i find out the resolution and accuracy of this system. What is the maximum accuracy and resolution i will get from this system. Because optical signal to cmos conversion signal is given as a input to the counter.

    Hi chandhu,
Were you referring to the accuracy of the count register or the timing clock?
PXI-6602 specifications can be found in the NI 660x Specifications.  The resolution of the count register is, as you’ve noted, 32 bits.  This corresponds to a maximum count value of 4,294,967,295.  As long as all of the edges are in accordance with TTL specifications, the accuracy of the count register is 100%.
On the other hand, the PXI-6602 baseclock accuracy takes on the baseclock accuracy of the PXI CLK 10 signal.  Again, this is all found in the specifications.
You may also want to check out the NI 660x User Manual – it contains a lot of details on the operation of these counter/timer devices.
I hope this helps.  Please post back if you have further questions.

  • How can I find out the dpi of an image in Acrobat.

How can I find out the dpi of an image in Acrobat. I have tried the pre-flight option but I really don't understand the pixels width x depth information that I get. I basically just want to know at dpi of a single image. Is there other program that will read my pdf file and tell me this information.

Thank you, tylerdurdain! That was ridiculously difficult to find. Not sure what version of Acrobat you're using in your image, but for those using Acrobat Pro 11 (in Mavericks), it's buried under View > Tools > Print Production.
That opens a panel on the right.
To keep from having to chase it down this way each time, right click on "Output Preview" and choose "Add to Quick Tools Toolbar". That adds a button to the top right of the toolbar.
Now you can call up the inspector with one click. Choose Object Inspector as tylerdurdain shows above, then click on the item displayed to get its properties.
