I want to believe...that mac and PC OS can integrate fully...copy and paste

I would love it if I never had to use the windows OS ever again.
but since I have to use hyperlinks in emails, Leopard can't print anything, and for some old software i use intermittently to deal with others less fortunate not to have upgraded with the new programs, I have to.
Had been pretty happy using a windows 2000 OS under parrallels, but poof, it went away. gone, nothing to indicate,that it had ever existed. So I am setting up my windows XP parrallels to replace it. One thing it won't do is copy and paste text or images between the windows and mac OS.
I used to use fusion, and I recall the copy and paste worked there pretty well, but it crashed upon Leopard awaking, no fixing it.
There's got to be a solution, simple or store bought out there to integrate the simplest things like copy and paste, but I don't know what it is.

its just so random the things that can copy and paste between the 2 systems. But mixing Operating systems seems the only way to get some programs to work correctly, especially when CS3 is concerned. as a workaround, if one program i want to paste something in to doesn't work, just open some unrelated program and copy and paste from there. Why can't they all just get along?

Just download, install, and activate using your serial number. You are allowed to have the software installed and activated on two machines. If you do not wish to retain the original installation as a backup you can deactivate it by opening one of the programs and choosing Help -> Deactivate.

If you need your serial number you should be able to find it in your Adobe account online if you registered the software when you first installed it.

Apple does not do trade ins of old computers. Your best bet is to sell it yourself and apply what you get to your purchase.

I strongly advise against upgrading the OS without first making a backup. Were something to go wrong you would lose all your files without the backup. See:
How to Install OS X Updates Successfully
A. Repair the Hard Drive and Permissions:
Boot from your current OS X Installer disc. After the installer loads select your language and click on the Continue button. Then select Disk Utility from the Utilities menu. After DU loads select your hard drive entry (mfgr.'s ID and drive size) from the the left side list. In the DU status area you will see an entry for the S.M.A.R.T. status of the hard drive. If it does not say "Verified" then the hard drive is failing or failed. (SMART status is not reported on external Firewire or USB drives.) If the drive is "Verified" then select your OS X volume from the list on the left (sub-entry below the drive entry,) click on the First Aid tab, then click on the Repair Disk button. If DU reports any errors that have been fixed, then re-run Repair Disk until no errors are reported. If no errors are reported click on the Repair Permissions button. Wait until the operation completes, then quit DU and return to the installer. Now restart normally.
If DU reports errors it cannot fix, then you will need Disk Warrior (4.0 for Tiger) and/or TechTool Pro (4.5.2 for Tiger) to repair the drive. If you don't have either of them or if neither of them can fix the drive, then you will need to reformat the drive and reinstall OS X.
B. Make a Bootable Backup Using Restore Option of Disk Utility:
Open Disk Utility from the Utilities folder.
Select the destination volume from the left side list.
Click on the Restore tab in the DU main window.
Check the box labeled Erase destination.
Select the destination volume from the left side list and drag it to the Destination entry field.
Select the source volume from the left side list and drag it to the Source entry field.
Double-check you got it right, then click on the Restore button.
Destination means the external backup drive. Source means the internal startup drive.
C. Important: Please read before installing:
If you have a FireWire hard drive connected, disconnect it before installing the update unless you will boot from this drive and install the update on it. Reconnect it and turn it back on after installation is complete and you've restarted.
You may experience unexpected results if you have installed third-party system software modifications, or if you have modified the operating system through other means. (This does not apply to normal application software installation.)
The installation process should not be interrupted. If a power outage or other interruption occurs during installation, use the standalone installer (see below) from Apple Downloads to update. While the installation is in progress do not use the computer.
D. To upgrade:
Purchase the Snow Leopard Retail DVD.
Boot From The OS X Installer Disc:
Insert OS X Installer Disc into the optical drive.
Restart the computer.
Immediately after the chime press and hold down the "C" key.
Release the key when the spinning gear below the dark gray Apple logo appears.
Wait for installer to finish loading.
E. If updating:
Download and install update(s)
Use Software Update, or
Download standalone updater(s).

Try this instead:
Drive Partition and Format
1. Open Disk Utility in your Utilities folder.
2. Select the backup volume from the left side list. Click on the Erase tab in the DU main window.
3. Set the format type to Mac OS Extended (Journaled.)
4. Click on the Erase button.
You will need to reconfigure Time Machine preferences for the backup.
FYI: Never remove Time Machine backup data except through the Time Machine application. If you aren't sure about using Time Machine then visit Pondini's Time Machine FAQ for help with all things related to Time Machine.

Hi I was just wanting to know if anyone can help with a problem I am having with an iPad 2. Some apps were purchased with one apple id and when I try to update the apps signed in with my id it asks for the password to the other id but also on an iPod touch apps were purched with first id and when someone else tries to download more apps it aske for the first persons apple id so is there any way than I can override these problems easily or be able to delet that persons id permanently so as we can download and update without it asking for a password that nobody knows or has access to please.
I need this problem fixed ASAP.

Unfortunately the apps bought by one ID need these ID for update the app. If you want to use it with your ID you must delete and buy the app (or download it if its free) again.

An MBA is a portable while an iMac is a desktop and is not portable. You could install Windows on either provided each had sufficient memory installed and a large enough hard drive. The iMac is better equipped for this from the outset, but the MBA can be adequately configured if you are willing to spend the money to do so.

My daughter's birthday is coming up, and she wants to be able to play reporter. I found a press pass jpg online, and I want to cut a picture of her and place it over part of the press pass picture.
The 2 main words on the original JPG are white with a black background. They are separated by a white field I'd also like to be able to change that black background ONLY to pink (she's 10 years old).
Can this be done with iPhoto, or will I need another app to do this. If I do, can you also point me to some tutorials for that app?

No, not a job for iPhoto, you'll need an editor for compositing.

There are many, many other options. Search on MacUpdate. You can set Photoshop (or any image editor) as an external editor in iPhoto. (Preferences -> General -> Edit Photo: Choose from the Drop Down Menu.) This way, when you double click a pic to edit in iPhoto it will open automatically in Photoshop or your Image Editor, and when you save it it's sent back to iPhoto automatically. This is the only way that edits made in another application will be displayed in iPhoto.

We would need to know how you go the Video from the camera to the DVD disks and in what Format the DVDs were recorded in.
If it made DVDs in the same format as commercial DVD films then the DVD player should open them
Quicktime will recognise many formats but not all .AVI and DIVX in particular.
Add-ons for Quicktime for some formats can be obtained.
Which app were you thinking of Editing in ?
