Those specifications are not for the "last" mac mini, but for the mid-2011 Mac Mini: Macmini5,2.
While that model came with Lion and could not be downgraded to Snow Leopard out of the box, look for the work done by newfoundglory https://discussions.apple.com/people/newfoundglory in this thread on how to accomplish an install of Snow Leopard that will allow that model of Mac Mini to boot into Snow Leopard, if it is that important to you:

It should be like the very first time you synced your phone with I-Tunes. It will notice you haven't synced before and just copy everything from your phone into I-Tunes. It shouldn't delete anything from the phone, at least it never has for me. It just puts a copy of everything into I-Tunes and even if you delete an app for example from your phone and you decide you want it back later, you can just go back into I-Tunes and copy it back over. If you updated your existing account then try logging out of it on the iPad by tapping on the id in Settings > Store and then log back in and see if that 'refreshes' the account on the iPad. If you created a new account then any content that you purchased/downloaded via the old account will remain tied to that old account, and only that old account can download updates to its apps.

If Matt had updated his iPhone via the Cloud and not by USB cable to his computer, the old IOS would still be on the computer and he would be able to "restore" to it. It would depend on what his backup settings were configured.
For instance, I always backup to my computer at home. But, in the last few days I was notified that IOS 6.1 came out. So, if I wanted, I could install the update via WIFI from where I am at work. But, my old IOS would still be safe on my home computer that I can restore from if need be.
And then you basically repeated what I stated about Google Maps being a app you can download now.

How can I erase and install the most recent Mac OS X?

I have bought a new iMac and want to give my old iMac to a friend.
Before I give it to them, I want to erase to old iMac HD and re-install Mac OS. However, it defaults back to the Maverick OS. My slow internet means it will take hours to download and then I would have to run upgrades in the AppStore and take more hours to download Yosemite and then more cycles of incremental upgrades... :-/
How do I get my old iMac to simply install a fresh version of the latest Mac OS?
I have saved a copy of the install file of Yosemite when I updated my new iMac because of my slow internet connection but I don't know if it truly gives a full fresh installation of everything, so I didn't try it.

Click here and follow the instructions. If the computer originally shipped with Mac OS X 10.6.8 or earlier, when you reach step 5, insert its original disk, restart with the C or Option key held down, use the Disk Utility to erase the internal drive, and install a fresh OS.
You can't sell it while it has an OS more recent than the newer of the computer's original one or 10.6.8 installed on it.

The Music app on iPads doesn't currently support lyrics, so you will need to find a third-party music app in the store that does support them.
