I want to buy 12" PB!  Anyone willing to ship to Asia???

Dear all,
I know this topic is bit strange. However I really want to buy a 12" PB. I search out ebay and there is a lot of that, but all of them willing to ship within USA only......
If you would like to sell and willing to ship to Asia (I live in Hong Kong), please kindly contact me.
I hope this topic will not be killed by Apple.......:D
Or if you have any information that will help me buying 12"PB at my place, please help!
Thank you very much!

As I mentioned in a reply to the original poster, but not directed toward them, rather to you and the other, it is all a matter of what a person chooses to do. If you sell something yourselves on eBay, people may question you as well, not knowing if you are sending them something legit, or exactly what you described. It is called trust and honesty on the part of the buyer and seller. That is what eBay's rating system is for.
I bought my most recent Mac on eBay. Not this PowerBook I'm typing from, but a Mac mini being sold by one of those resellers. The unit was not stolen, etc. I would rather buy something as important as a used computer from a seller who has a great reputation (based on their feedback) than from someone who's not. (Or in that case, buy from a Mac-related website). That is why I directed the original poster to that particular link because they asked for such--people that shipped internationally--and the item listed is being sold by a reputable dealer.
Note: again, I am not the seller of the item!
By the same token, in my main job (I have two, and none of them are this one... posting help on the discussions) we were looking to purchase some used iMacs to replace a bunch of aging LC PowerMacs. This company is one who is supposedly reputable. When we ordered? They never came due to a shipping error and we only found out after we called them ourselves to find out what the deal was. Shows that just because they look good online, doesn't mean they're the best.
In fact, if anyone reading this post is looking for that kind of resource, PowerMax of Oregon--an Apple Authorized Reseller of used, new, and Apple Certified Refurbs--has a special link to a database so you can find out if the product you have acquired or just bought is exactly that (they are not the "bad" company I was referring to, nor is Apple the one either):
"Is Your Mac Legit?"

Yes, though if the drive is formatted as NTFS, Mac OS X will not be able to write to the drive without you either installing third-party NTFS drivers or reformatting the drive.

Do you research as to what is available in India and what the
various prices/costs are. Only you can decide what is the
    best choice.

  • I want to buy a photoshop that will move trees or remove trees etc in landscape photos, add an item from another photo etc

I have not used any photoshop except years ago.  I am completely lacking in information.  If  I want to fix reference photos to look like I want them to look by removing aspects, like a tree, rock etc or move them within the photo, what do I need to buy?  also finding an item from one photo that I would like to add to another, such as a person, again which version must I buy.
I do not want to do the Cloud thing which is costly, I want the least expensive means to have these tools.
    cheers!

Wrong forum, but Photoshop Elements will do what you want.

  • I want to buy a Camcorder.....

I want to buy a camcorder which will enable me to use iMovie and perhaps some other movie programmes in time. I use an Intel iMac and Mac Book with 10.4
So, what camcorder to buy that will be compatible with all of this? I've picked up from these sites that DVD and HDD camcorders seem to incompatible with editing etc., so I will steer clear of them. That seems to indicate a mini camcorder which has a removable storage device, like a tape. So, what models ? I don't want to spend more than £250 on one ($500), so something in that region would be good. Sony, Canon, Panasonic ?
Also, once I get to want to go beyond iMovie and do something a bit more adventurous, what software is good and compatible with a Mac ? Final Cut ? Not sure what that is but have seen it around and it has something to do with movies, I think !
    Thanks.
    Chris

If you can stretch to £350, the Sony HC-96 has a large (1/3") image sensor (usual fare for this level of camera is about 1/5" to 1/6") and this will give you better image quality and better low light performance. Also shoots in 16:9 mode.

Better still is the Panasonic NV GS-500:
    http://www.simplydv.co.uk/Reviews/panasonic_nv-gs500.html
With 3 x 1/4.7" CCD's you get even more imaging power and more manual controls for when you become more proficient.
    Drawback? It's £536 best price.
The Panny NV GS-320 is less well specc'd but still has 3 x 1/6" CCDs and can be had for £305.
Once you've mastered iMovie (or simply want more editing control and features) Al's advice RE: FCE is wise.
Don't forget that mini dv video files are large (5 mins=1GB) so if you are planning on doing a fair bit of video work you may want to factor in the cost of an external FW hard drive in the future - they're pretty inexpensive at the moment.

I always suggest going to monoprice.com for cheap priced and good quality cables, adapters, aother videio/audio realated hardware.years.
    Example:
Mini DisplayPort | Thunderbolt® to HDMI® Adapter w/ Audio Support
You can search for the cable of desired length there as well.
Been using monoprice for years.   Excellent source for this kind of stuff.

  • I want to buy a iMac in Ireland with a PT keyboard

    Hi All,
I am looking to purchase a iMac from the Ireland Apple store.
However, because I write in multiple languages besides english, my best fit is a Portuguese keyboard. After going thru the IE website, which only has British, US, French and German I looked at the PT website and cant buy there because it will be shipped within Portugal and not abroad.
    Any ideas???
    Thank you!!!

If you cannot get an iMac with a Portuguese keyboard from the Apple Online Store, you should call Apple. Normally they allow you to get your Mac with different keyboard configurations than the ones listed in the Apple Online Store.
For Ireland, the phone number is 1800 92 38 98. Another option would be to look for a new iMac with Portuguese keyboard at another website, like Amazon.

It appears to depend upon the version you will be using:

Based on what I can tell, you may have to go to the second hand market in order to get a MBP that will run a compatible OSX.
    Ciao.
