System Preferences Keyboard Shortcuts does not recognize some keys

Upgrading to Snow Leopard meant leaving Unsanity's elegant Menu Master behind. I've been trying to make do with System Preferences > Keyboard > Keyboard Shortcuts > Applications Shortcuts. I've had some success. I'm now looking for help dealing with unfortunate shortcomings.
At the top of my list:
Keyboard Shortcuts doesn't let me use some keys I was accustomed to using in Menu Master:
• Delete, Help, forward Delete, Home, End, Page Up and Page Down just beep.
• Enter is accepted, but it's treated the same as Return -- these are two different keys!
Is there some way to trick/force Keyboard Shortcuts to accept these keys?
For example, I seem to recall Menu Master required a mouse-down to enter some special keys.

no it's not. it's treated differently.
In Leopard, Menu Master let me assign Command+Enter to Address Book > Edit Card. When I attempt the same using Keyboard Shortcuts, both Command+Return and Command+Enter are displayed as Command plus a "return arrow." After that, in Address Book, both Command+Return and Command+Enter invoke the "Edit Card" menu action.

if you want to use those keys in the shortcuts use one of the many 3rd party app launchers. any one of them will let you do this: Qucisilver, Butler, Spark, Launchbar, ikeys, quickeys etc.
I've been using QuicKeys since the beginning of time, and I have some experience with Butler and LaunchBar. They're useful for what they do. But, as far as I know, none add keyboard shortcuts that are displayed directly in the menus. That display feature is what makes Menu Master and Systems Prefs > Keyboard Shortcuts so attractive.
that's because Menu Master is a haxie. none of the other programs mentioned are. you want such functionality you are going have to use a haxie. personally - i stay away from them as they destabilize the system.
When I'm considering new shortcuts, I use KeyCue to display all current shortcuts in a single display. KeyCue now displays QuicKeys shortcuts in the same display, which is a big help.

[Solved]Keyboard layout screwed up and some keys don't work

After I reinstalled xorg-server 1.5.3-1 and installed xf86-input-evdev 2.0.1-1 and xf86-input-keyboard 1.3.1-1 some of my keys don't work and keyboard layout screwed up. I had finnish (fi) layout, but now it's "us". Arrows, insert- delete- home- end- pg up- pg down- print screen- scroll lock- pause- keys don't work. All characters behind Alt Gr + "" don't work either.
How to fix this?

So, I got an iPod from a friend because the screen was broken, he tried to fix it and he bent one of the prongs on where the LCD for the screen goes on the front of the mother board. I can still click it in, will it still work if I buy a new screen?

Well, my friend gave me his iPod 4G Because the screens LCD was broken and there was a black dot in the screen and it didn't work, he didn't want it anymore because he thinks he broke it because where the LCD connects to the front of the motherboard one of the prongs is bent but I can still click the LCD in if I get a new screen will it still work?

I really thought Apple TV was a great idea but the more i look into it the less I like it. Can someone help me with these concerns?
1.) seems like only new releases are available to rent, I'm more interested in renting than buying and not just new releases.
2.) no tv shows are available to rent.
3.) If i buy all this stuff i have to back it up to my hd which adds to the already expensive titles.
Please tell me I'm wrong... I'm dying to buy this lol, And thanks!

Many older things are available, but as you say not all available to rent - itunes will give a good indication of what's out there.
I suspect many older titles (not all, and frankly many newer ones) won't benefit from HD and may only be in SD.
Older titles when available may also be cheaper to rent or purchase.

Yes, you need to back up purchases if you don't want to risk losing all content in a hardware failure, but that's normal for any digital material you have that you'd hate to lose if there's no redownload option.

I think I may have a virus! My keyboard is not working properly. When I press the zero key, it doesn't appear. Other keys that do not work include the directional keys, delete key, and others. No need to take the computer at this stage. Just take the keyboard into your local Apple store for examination. If you have another machine, not necessarily Apple, you could try the board on that or perhaps a friend's machine … they are largely universal.

I bought an HP dv6-6167cl last night from Sam's Club and I like the notebook but for some reason the right shift key - ( a longer shift key with both "Pause" and "Shift" written on the key) does not work at all. I'm trying to determine if this is a driver or system configuration issue or if I need to exchange the computer for a different one. It may even be user error - is there some sort of trick to using this shift key? (function toggle or something)
