I want to change from DVD installation to the App-Store version.
How do I deinstall in order to sell the DVD version but to keep all my data and folders etc.?

Alternatively, you could use software like appZapper or CleanApp. But I normally just drag the app to the trash.

You cannot.
You cannot use another countrys itunes store.
You must be physically locates inside the borders of a country to use that countrys itunes store and a credit card issued in that country with a valid billing address in that country.
The owners of the distribution rights of movies/music/etc differ by country. These distributors decide who can sell their content in that country.
Buy from another source if your countrys itunes store does not carry somehting that you want.

When I try to change my country in the Account section of the App Store (and the ITunes Store) I receive the message "You have a store credit balance; you must spend your balance before you can change stores."
I am unable to understand the reason for this and can't find a way around this. The amount of credit remaining in my account is less than the price of any App or Song.
I am also concerned after reading other threads that if I change countries, whether the Apps purchased in one country will still be available in the new country.
Some have proposed using credit cards to change the country for the account, but accounts funded through vouchers exclusively should be able to be able to change countries without this requirements.

I think you need to login to a different iTunes account from within iTunes, then sync your iPhone/iPod Touch. It should then have your other store account as the default.

Unless you purchased the iPhone direct from Apple in the UK and paid full price either on line or In an Apple Store then it will be locked to a UK Carrier and only that carrier can arrange unlocking
It is unlikely that the iPad is similarly locked as most are sold carrier free unless specifically purchased from a UK carrier as part of a packaged deal involving a subsidy on the price of the iPad ( not very likely but they do exist )

Sometimes there are just server problems with the App Store. Only thing that I can offer is to wait a day or so and try again and, if still no luck, contact the App Store support folks - http://www.apple.com/support/mac/app-store/.

Sounds like you accidently got changed to another store....
So, go to Settings>iTunes & App Store, and click on your AppleID at the top. Then click on View account, sign in, and then click on Country/Region, and follow the instructions to change your store to South Africa.
That should take care of it!

Technically the Music, apps are not hers but yours as your Apple ID was used to get them. And as a consequnce they are tied to your Apple ID.
If she creates her own Apple ID she will need to get her own music, apps, etc...

Actually it does because the Dock is Snow Leopard's program launcher. For Lion, LaunchPad is the program launcher, not the Dock. Don't like that? Here's where you complain. Otherwise, you asked and I answered.

Format Mavericks from a DVD not App Store?

Just got an (almost) brand new iMac 20Gb Memory! 10.9.3 i5 machine and want to completely reformat and start again a fresh
I already have a 16Gb MBP and have made a Mavericks 10.9 DVD disc to boot from.
I used this and put into the iMac to reformat using Apple's instructions hitting CMD+R on boot up.
However this only wants me to connect to my app store and re-download this? OR says I need to go from Lion to reformat?
Surely can anyone tell me if there is a quick and simple way to reformat from my Mavericks DISC like Windows used to?
Is there a different set of commands to let it see the disc and reformat/re-install from fresh instead of a 3hr download (AGAIN) from the internet?

You can make yourself a bootable Mavericks installer with an 8 GB USB flash drive (keydrive) and DiskMaker X (formerly Lion DiskMaker).
You may have to download the installer again if it's no longer in your Applications folder. Once you run the installer it is deleted.
I'm not positive about this but I think if you reformat the HD you have to start with installing the OS that originally came with the computer. At least that's what I did when I reformatted my Mac and installed Mavericks. Maybe someone reading this can comment.
