I want to change my Apple ID email but it won't let me.
The original email I put as my Apple ID has been deavtivaed because I haven't used it in a while, so I want to change my Apple ID email to my current email. However, when I go online to change it, it tells me "this email address is already verified for another Apple ID". I don't recall making an Apple ID on this new email, but I'm guessing I created without realizing it. Is there any way I can delete the Apple ID on my new email and then change it? Or can I merge the two IDs?
Ok I'm goin to call your old Apple ID #1 your new email you want to use #2 and another email #3.
- go to http://appleid.apple.com
- select manage your apple id
- sign into #2
- edit primary email and change it to #3
- save changes and sign out
Now
- sign into #1
- edit primary
- change it to the email that was used for #2
- save changes
- check #2's email inbox for verification email
- verify account
If done correctly you should be fine, also in terms of #3 that would be an email you have that you dont mind being an apple id that you wont use. Sorry for the funny way of explaining just thought it would be shorter to type out lol.
Note: Once changes have been made you must sign out of features such as iCloud, iMessage, FaceTime, iTunes & App Store as they will still display the old Apple ID. Sign in with new email but same password as normal.

I am in the UK and I wanted to view an app but it said it was only available in US stores and it asked me if I wanted to change stores. So I stupidly chose yes so I could see the app. Terrible mistake. It was a rubbish app and I can't change my store back to the UK store, because of this, I cannot update my apps that aren't from the US store and it really frustrates me.

If you see that pop up you enabled icloud. Whether you want or do not want now to use it irrelevant until you actually disable activation lock.
In order to do that you have to change your apple id back to do that just long enough to sign in and back out. System will ask you to verify, don't.
Just sign in on the prompt you getting and then logout. Once done, change apple id to what you have now and verify. Then decide if you want to
use icloud (who does not want to be able to track their phone if lost or stolen). -
Hi I want to change my Apple ID email as I can no longer access my old email account. I try to change it to my new email but it says I'm already using it as my 'rescue email' so how do I remove or change my rescue email so that I can use it as my primary email?

Welcome to the Apple community.
If you are unable to remember your password, security questions, don’t have access to your rescue address or are unable to reset your password for whatever reason, your only option is to contact AppleCare, upon speaking to an operator you should explain that your problem is related to your Apple ID, this way you will not be charged for assistance, even if you don’t have an AppleCare plan.
The operator will take you through some steps you may have already tried, however they need to be sure they have exhausted all usual approaches before trying to reset your account, so you should try to be helpful and show patience with the procedure.
The operator will need to verify they are speaking to the account holder and may ask you some questions that only the account holder could know, and you will need to answer them if the process is to proceed.
Once the operator has verified your identity they will send a message through to your device which contains an alpha numeric code, which you will need to read back to them.
Once this has been completed they will send an email to your iCloud email address after a period of 24 hours, so you should check that mail is enabled in your devices iCloud settings.
Upon receipt of the email, use the reset link provided to reset your password, after which you should be able to make the adjustments to iCloud that you wish to do. -
Changed my Apple ID email, but ICloud does not recognize my new login, only my old one (which is now non-existent) and requires the password to do anything. Everytime I go onto the ICloud page it shows my old email and requires the password, but I can't exactly type in a password because that won't work. I can't find a way to change my email or delete ICloud.
If the old ID is an earlier version of your current ID, do the following:
Make sure you are signed into iMessage and FaceTime with your current ID. If they are signed into the old ID, go to Settings>Messages>Send & Receive and Settings>FaceTime, tap the ID, sign out, then sign back in with your current ID.
Then temporarily recreate the old ID by going to https://appleid.apple.com, click Manage my Apple ID and sign in with your current iCloud ID. Click edit next to the primary email account, change it back to your old email address and save the change. (You should not have to verify the old email account so it doesn’t matter if you no longer have access to it.) Now go to Settings>iCloud, turn off Find My iDevice and enter your current password when prompted (even though it prompts you for the password for your old ID). Then go to Settings>iCloud, tap Sign Out (or Delete Account if you are not running iOS 8) and choose Delete from My iDevice when prompted (your iCloud data will still be in iCloud). Next, go back to https://appleid.apple.com and change your primary email address back to the way it was. Now you can go to Settings>iCloud and sign back in with your current iCloud ID and password (your data will download back to your device). -

I have an old AOL email that I want to use as my iCloud email but MyAppleID won't accept it because it is already in use by Apple. May have been for my ibook but not sure. Any way I can find out what I used it for in the past?
Go to https://appleid.apple.com and sign into manage your apple id with any apple ids you have access to and see if you're account is either an alternate email address or a rescue address. If it is, remove it. Have family members or friends check theirs, if they have apple ids, just in case.

You'll need to speak to someone in account security. They'll have to go through a verification process with you, in order to reveal information. If you fail that process, they will be able to tell you nothing. -

Wold like to change user ID email, but system will not let me because it's used as a recovery email, even though I've deleted it as a back up email. I rarely usethis original email, but have a new email I would like to link as my primary. When I try to change it, I get a message stating that this email ID cannot be used because it is being used as a back up email ID. As I said, I've deleted it as a back up email, but it still won't accept it.

I have changed my apple id email and cant change it on my phone now every time any app asks for my password is says its incorrect because the email is wrong.
The problem is that you had "Find My iPhone" (activation lock) turned on, when you changed your Apple ID email address. In order to solve the problem. please follow this steps:
Please change your Apple ID back to your old email address (that you used as Apple ID before) here:http://appleid.apple.com
Then go to all your devices - iPhones, iPads, Mac etc. - ("Settings > iCloud") and delete your iCloud account from this devices (+ turn off Find My iPhone, but I guess it will ask you that anyway)
After that go back to http://appleid.apple.com sign in again, and now change your Apple ID again to your new email address.
Finally, set up your iCloud account on all your devices again.
Now, everything should working properly again. -

Now you can go to Settings>iCloud and sign in with your current iCloud ID and password.

I can't seem to find an email adress or someplace to send this question directly to apple support without it costing money, so I'll try my luck here.
My old AppleID is a @mac.com address which I never verified, nor payed for, so I cannot verify it either.
