I would like a window to appear when I log in on a web page to ask me if I want to save my password.
Also, why is there no "Option" tab on the Help menu in the Mac like it is on my PC?After first closing the site's browser window, I cleared the cookies with no problem.
Next, I opened up the page that is causing my problem. The Microsoft Security window opened up as it should and it was blank.
The option of whether I was using a public or a private
computer was blinking on 'public' as it should and I changed that to 'private'.
The lines for 'Domain/Username' and 'Password" were blank, as they should be at this time.
I entered whatever I had to on these two lines, then clicked on "log In". At no time, however, did the Firefox toolbar at top of screen (picture file attached) appear and ask whether to remember that password. Yes, the page now opened - and we are back to Square One.
I am aware that when entering the URL in the address box, a dropdown box opens and contains quite a few URLs identical to the one I am entering just now, or at least connected to pages of the same site.
I am wondering whether that is what's messing me up? But how can I clear these entries of "websites visited in the past from Firefox's memory?

It will use any account balance first, once it is gone, then it will go to your credit card. -

1) I am having trouble with an excel file wanting to save when no changes were made. As soon as you open the file and exit. It prompts for a save.
All excel versions are 15.0.4701.1002.
Using a table.
the functions CELL, OFFSET, TODAY, INDIRECT, NOW, INFO and RAND are not being used.
2) Same file. 2nd person is being told they are opening the file as read only - but when they are quitting excel prompts them to save the file.
Everything was working fine. I started having problems with Excel, IT wiped my version out and re-installed office.
File is on networked server HP - Windows Server 2012 Essentials.
We are all on Windows 8.1 Pro.
I really hope someone can help - the excel expert had no answer - and passed me along to here.I copied the whole file and started deleting worksheets one at a time and testing it by closing it and re-opening it then closing it again – to see if it wanted to save.
Once all the pivot tables were deleted – the problem went away.
I found that some of the pivot tables had automatic refresh upon open, so this caused the excel to think data had changed.
It is fixed now. By clicking on one cell of the pivot table, analyze, options, data and uncheck the 3<sup>rd</sup> square down to not automatically refresh. NOT A NETWORK ISSUE. -

I needed to do this, because I'm migrating users to Dovecot over time. In the event they connect to the old webmail site I want it to be obvious, so I changed the background color.
This requires vi or some other plain text editor. Proceed at your own risk.

The user specific settings for Squirrelmail are in /var/db/squirrelmail/data. Each user has a file called username.pref, where username = their actual short username. For the user msmith, it would be msmith.pref. For existing users, you can edit the file and add/modify whatever preferences you want. Set up your Squirrelmail like you want it site wide, and look at your pref file for an example. At my site, I want everyone to have the plain blue theme, and to turn off the alternating colors in the message list. Here are the preferences to do that:

I added those two lines to each users pref file, when they log in next they will have the plain blue theme. They can change it in the "Options" if they wish, but day one they get the plain blue theme.
For new users that you create through Workgroup Manager, there is a file in that directory called default_pref. That file is a template Workgroup Manager uses when creating a new user in Squirrelmail, so just add the prefs you want in that file, and each new user gets those preferences automatically when they are created.
There is a plugin that dose something similar called forced_prefs available at the Squirrelmail site, but if you force those prefs, users will not be able to change them if they want. It's also not real simple to use, at least for me. Documentation is pretty sparse as well. -
If i want to change to a new ipad, how will my cloud content like photos and videos go to it?
I have a new iPad air, and i want to take the information and content from my old IPad 4 retinal and use it on the new one. I then want to clear this old iPad and give it to my children to use clear. I don't know how to get the downloaded information like pictures and videos from the existing cloud into my new Ipad. i wanted to confirm that these items will still be accessable before i totally reset my old ipad.

If it was, it will list the time/date of the backup. Assuming it was, to transfer the photos and other data to your new iPad, restore the backup of your old iPad to your new one. When you set up the new iPad, you will be given the option to Restore from iCloud Backup. Select this option and follow the prompts, choosing the backup of your old iPad to restore to the new one. Then be sure your iPad is connected to wifi and your charger while it is restoring the backup.
If you have already set up your new iPad, go to Settings>General>Reset and tap Erase All Content and Settings. This will allow you to set it up again, where you will get the option to restore your iCloud backup.
As you mentioned, be sure not to erase the old iPad before confirming that the information was successfully transferred to your new one. -
How can i save the acr changes i make to jpegs (not as sidecar xmps)?

I have been a full-time pro photog for 16 years and yes, yes, I always shoot in raw. Except on my cameraphone. I am on a pc. We have hundreds of pics that my family took on cameraphones on a recent cruise (when we didn't feel like lugging the pro gear around all day). Some need some adjustments before printing. My 16 year old is comfortable with the basics in ACR and went in there herself and started making her adjustments. For MY wedding pics (CR2s), I have the xmps saved as sidecars and would like to keep it that way. I am suspecting that her adjustments aren't being saved becuase of this? If this is the case, I would be happy to change that setting (after 45 min I still can't figure out how!! i must have come across it but just am not seeing it!) temporarily for her for a day or two and then permenantly switch it back for my own editing purposes. If that is not the case, please, please, please give any pointers!!
The adjustments show up in bridge after she makes them in ACR, but don't show up (dark pic still dark) when I open the pic anywhere outside of Bridge (such as when we email it to another computer to check it or in windows). If we try to open in plain old CS5, ACR opens the file no matter what, which makes sense since the new info apparently isn't embedded into the file.
Yes, I can teach her how to do her adjustments in CS5 (rather than cs% Bridge and ACR) but she has a huge scrapbooking day planned with Grandma on Wednesday and living in FL, we are in the thick of our wedding season right now, so I don't have time to teach her. If there is ANY way to get the ACR adjustments saved to the files? Thank you soooooo much for any help!
CherSettings you make in ACR for a Raw file are written to the separate XMP side car file. (The Camera Raw preferences has this set by default and to my opinion it should stay so, but the other option is to save them in a central database)
However, opening the same file in ACR and make new adjustments the previous settings are overwritten by the new ones. You can save them separately but that would be a hell of a job. If you want to be on the safe side you should make a proper back up of the whole folder (be sure to have the XMP files included, by default those are hidden files in Bridge) before someone else starts playing with the settings. However, you can always go back to the default version using the option in the little menu icon next to the name op f the panel (first panel is Basic). click on the icon and from the provided menu choose 'Reset Camera Raw Defaults' to go back to the originals.
I don't use jpeg in ACR very often but I believe ACR settings for jpeg and tiff are written in the XMP data in the file itself instead of a separate XMP file. You can revert to default or make new settings that also overwrite the older settings.
Making adjustments in ACR shows the results in Bridge (it uses the XMP data for the preview) but to make it visible in other apps you also have to save them in Photoshop itself to make the changes persistent so that mail and print reflect your settings.
So basically, let her play with the files and either chose the option to save the files (bottom left in ACR Window and choose the wanted provided options or open and save them in Photoshop to get the proper result. And if you want to be on the safe side let here use her own copies and keep the originals to your self. -
I've had this happen on a couple of sites where I've changed passwords. It doesn't offer to remember the new password whether I login when that side is still on the list of those with saved passwords, or whether I delete that site from the 'saved passwords' list first. It just...doesn't offer the option to save the password. How can I fix this???

Some sites like PayPal and bank sites use autocomplete="off" to prevent Firefox from saving and filling in the name and the password.
If a site uses autocomplete="off" then look at this article for a bookmarklet to remove that autocomplete attribute and Firefox will offer to store the name and password.

Want to change the default save location- users have networked home dirs
I am doing some work for a school which is still using iMovie HD because it allows them to save their movie projects wherever they want. The issue is that iMovie 08 and 09 do not allow you to change the location in which they save their movies. Currently all users/students have network home folders, so their home directory, documents, etc all pull across the network. All students are limited to 1GB of space, and the system is an older G4 Server- 2GHz with 1GB of RAM and 2x 500GB hard drives. Since the students can make some large projects transferring that data back and forth can kill the server. Currently they are staying with iMovie HD so they can save it to the local hard drive, and when the student comes back in for class they sit at the same machine- thus giving them access to their stored movie files.
This summer they plan to upgrade both Xserves, but again internal storage in the Xserve is a joke and in my opinion not planned out properly. Which might require them to use one of the Apple Promise RAID units- major financial burden on a school.
I wanted to see if there was a way to change the default save location for iMovie 08 or 09 to the local storage rather then the "Home" folder for each user.

iM08/09 has a different file concept than iMHD6.
Both versions allow to store Events (=huge files) 'anywhere' to usb or firewire connected, hfs(+) formatted harddrives. the Project files (=small files) can be de-located from 'internal' drive with vers09, for 08 you have to use a socalled symLink to de-locate Project files. -
I live in Saudi Arabia and intend to buy an iPhone 5 (unlocked version) from U.K. I want to know, would it be possible to claim warranty from the local network operator which is the official Apple iPhone seller i.e. Mobily. Would they repair/replace my iPhone 5 ?
You would need to return to U.K. for warranty service. The iPhone warranty is not international.

I have tried re-installing iTunes, and restarting the Bonjour service, sadly there is no change.
earlier before i updated iTunes it recognised my iPod but said that I had to update iTunes in order for it to work.
So i updated iTunes but now it's not even showing the device anywhere.
