I want to clear my dropdown (old) toolbar but cant seem to delete or clear websites I no longer look at from it.

Settings>General>Reset>Erase All Content and Settings

The solution would have been to back up your photos to your computer before the screen broke.

My sync key, which i copied off the website, is too long for the firefox home 3 boxes. what should i do?

i'm trying to create sync between my iphone and desktop.
i followed instructions to download firefox home from itunes and got a really long sync key: x-xxxxx-xxxxx-xxxxx-xxxxx-xxxxx
then went go firefox and to preferences and sync and add a device but the sync key is way too long to go into the 3 boxes.
what do i do?

You do not have to enter the syn key in the three boxes on that page.<br />
That is meant for a special code that can be used instead of the user name and sync key for easy set up.<br />
If you do not have that shorter code then click the link at the bottom "I don't have the device with me" to get a window where you can enter all details.

Deleting data off old Motorola Rival?

So, I'm looking to sell my old Motorola Rival to make a few extra bucks. It hasn't been my active phone for about eight months, since I upgraded to a smartphone back in April. Thing is, if I'm going to sell it, I want to get my info off of it. I did the "factory restore", but that didn't clear my phone number out of the Phone Info section. Maybe I'm a bit paranoid, but I just don't want my old phone number stuck in there if I'm going to sell it, yanno?

To migrate your phone to a new account, start by saving any photo stream photos that you want to keep to your camera roll (unless already there) by opening your my photo stream album, tapping Select, tapping the photos, tap the share icon (box with upward facing arrow), then tapping Save to Camera Roll. If you are syncing notes with iCloud that you want to keep on the phone, you'll need to open each of your notes and email them to yourself so you can later copy and paste the text into new notes created in your new account. Then go to Settings>iCloud, tap Delete Account (which only deletes it from this device, not from iCloud; your other devices won't be effected by this), provide the password to turn off Find My iPhone (if using iOS 7) and choose Keep on My iPhone when prompted . Then sign back in with your new Apple ID to create your new account and choose Merge to upload your data to the new account.

When you connect it with iTunes running, it does not appear in the sidebar, under DEVICES? If you quit iTunes and run Disk Utility, does it appear in the Disk Utility sidebar? When connected, does the orange light blink on and off?

Not a big issue : Just delete the old backups and if the backup option turns off o your current device, then just turn it on again.

like
mv alert_SID.log alert_SID.bak
oracle will automatically create new one if it will not able to find old one.

I have over 1400 photos backed up on my computer and iCloud and I want to clear some off my phone... is there a way to select photos and delet them on my phone through syncing?

Pics taken with iphone are imported as with any digital camera : Open iphoto, connect iphone, import photos.
Pics synced from your computer to your iphone are synced one way only - computer to iphone.
As these pics came from your computer in the first place, they should still be there. Simply copy them to your new computer along with all of your other files/docs/pics/music/contacts/etc

Moving ITunes off old computer back onto new computer

I imagine this question is not new and has been addressed, but I seem to find conflicting answers. I am getting a new computer. How do I move ITunes library off old computer on to new computer while keeping playlists intact? Can I copy the folder to an external hard drive, change media folder location in preferences to ext hard drive, install ITunes on new computer, move folder back, and change folder location back to new computer?

No worries here. Just want to make sure the correct way to do it gets pointed out.
When messing owth the files, users need to understand the differences between *iTunes library* and *iTunes media folder*.
iTunes library consists of everything in iTunes (iTunes folder and all media in iTunes, regardless of where it is located).
iTunes media folder is usually located inside the iTunes folder (doesn't need to be) but it can be welsewhere. Also, medcia files can be located anywhere and not necessarily inside the iTunes media folder location shown in iTunes prefs > Advanced.

Actually, the article you linked to moves only the *iTunes media folder* for use with the same iTunes library on the same computer. If you only copy the iTunes media folder to a new computer, iTunes will be empty.
It does not move any of the *iTunes library files*, which contain the playlists.

My suggestion copies the entire iTunes library (including playlists, artwork, ratings, etc.), and the iTunes media to a new location/computer and the iTunes will see it just like it was on old computer.

The Nano is a USB powered device. In order to update or restore it, you will need either an AC adapter or a USB 2 capable computer (USB 1 is not good enough). Basically the device needs a higher power input than usual for this sort of thing, so that it can update its flash memory without risk of damage due to power loss. Thus it requires power input when this is occuring. The AC Adapter is a sure fire way, a USB 2 port is almost as good.

Get photos off old ipod

My old computer is gone. The photos from that computer were synced to my old, click wheel ipod, 80GB. I have the ipod. The ipod does appear in itunes, but the photo option on the left does not appear. The only option I have in itunes in to synce photos from my computer to my ipod. I don't want to do that! I want to get the photos off of my ipod and safely on my new computer.
Another thread said to try image capture, but that didn't work. Maybe ipod is too old?

Syncing photos is only one way, from your PC to your iPod. If you need to copy photos from your iPod back to your PC, you'll need the assistance of some third party software. Also keep in mind that these photos are no longer in their full resolution, but instead are scaled down thumbnail versions optimized for viewing on your iPod's small screen.
