thank you for reading this.

Look at this:

My caveats;  These are not the only adapters that you can find.  I have a feeling that these may be of inferior quality and I suggest you find some that are first rate.  Too many problems occur using cheap connectors.  After all your MBP is first rate and deserves the best.
Length is dependent upon your environmental requirements.  What I selected here is in a format that should work.  I like this configuration because of its simplicity.  I use a Mini/HDMI adapter which connects to a separate HDMI cable.  Nothing wrong with that, but not as tidy.
Ciao.

If you have redeemed the voucher for something separate from the computer, then it's a non-issue. If you redeemed it as a price reduction for the computer, then they will return only what you paid less the coupon.

    kiyoungtack1,
You have asked a great question! It is your choice how you would like to go about purchasing the iPhone. Do you currently have an iPhone? If so you can trade in your current iPhone and put it towards the purchase of the new iPhone 6 or 6 Plus at full retail pricing. http://bit.ly/GGnDDC Have you checked to see if you are eligible for Early Edge? If you would like us to investigate further into which option would be the most cost efficient to you please private message me so we can review further.

Sounds like the Time Machine Local Backup.  Try turning Time Machine Off in System Preferences to verify.
See: OS X Lion: About Time Machine's "local snapshots" on portable Macs
    But, your real problem is
I forgot to mention that I tried to use Disk Utility to Verify Disk, but it cannot. I get red errors that say the MacHD is corrupt and needs to be repaired. It says that in order to do this I need to use the Disk Utility on the install disk, but Lion doesn't have one!
Boot into Lion's Recovery (Hold ⌘R on Boot), select Disk Utility and then select Macintosh HD and click [Repair Disk]

  • Problems with MBP late 2009 + Dell U2711 + DVI Dual-Link

    Hi!
I'm new to Apple Communities. I've been using for quite a long time my MBP with my Dell U2711 monitor. Sometimes it works perfect. But other times, just after bootup or reasume the display doesn't work properly.
Some times it doesn't detect the signal of the MBP and doesn't start.
Other times it displays the right image but with something like "noise" in every color.
The only solution I found is to turn off and on the display or if it doesn't start, forcing it touching the menu button to start up. If it appears noise and I just change the source and put it back again it works fine.
It has only happened me with this computer. I have also used it with a custom made computer with a GTX280 and never had a problem with it.
I tried to boot up with the 2 different graphics cards my MBP has, and with both I have the problem. I even had the problem using the "normal" DVI adapter. I suppose it must be something of the computer firmware. Some times, if I restart the computer using only the U2711 display. The bootup logo and loading is displayed fine. But when it displays the login window the noise starts.
I've always had this problem. It isn't something that started happening one day. I even reinstalled Mac OS X.
I'ts really strange and I found nobody who has the same problem. I hope someone has a solution.
If someone doesn't understand what I call "noise", please, tell me and I will post a photo of it.
Thanks in advance (and sorry for my English)

Double posting. Everyone, ignore this here and follow that one instead.

  • MBP + dual dell ultrasharp monitors?

    Hey All,
    Im running a 2013 MBP 15"
I was wondering if anyone knew if I could power the following two monitors:
    MBP
    + Dell UltraSharp U2412M 61cm (24") LED - Running Vertically 1200x1920
    + Dell UltraSharp U2713HM 69cm (27") LED -  Running Horizontally 2560x1440
    I was thinking:
    HDMI -> 24"
    Thundbolt/DVI -> 27"
Could anyone confirm if this will work?
    Thanks.
    Andy.

    The standard Nvidia 7300GT
will support up to one 30" display as well as a 24"
display. If you are looking for support for two 30"
displays you will need to upgrade to the ATi X1900 XT
otherwise the 7300 GT will be fine for all other
    combinations.
Ned I have 3 30inch Apple Cinema displays AND HAVE NOT BEEN ABLE TO GET A PROPER CABLE TO DRIVE THE OTHER TWO MONITORS! I HAVE THE NVIDIA QUATTRO 4500 CARD, BUT AM ONLY ABLE TO GET A POOR SIGNAL OVER 20FEET USING DUAL DVI-D CABLES. TRIED EVERTHING!

  • Wanting to Use My MBP and HD Plasma TV to Show some Slide Shows With Audio

    Hello-
I am tired from going around to Best Buy, Radio Shack, etc. and explaining what I want to help a friend do and coming home but not having what I was sold work.
What I am trying to do is connect my MBP to the HD TV and not only have the visuals of a photo presentation or a music "slide show" and other projects come through the TV ut also have the audio come through the TV. The cables that I purchased have worked in seeing what is on my MBP on the TV but I can't get what I need to also have the audio come through the TV.
If anybody has any idea what I need to do this, I would appreciate any help. I put together, for my friend to use at his mother's funeral, using Keynote a picture slide show with music of her life. I want to bring the HD plasma TV to the mortuary and use my remote with my MBP to help my friend give a talk while the music is playing on the TV and he can use the remote to advance the pictures forward (and have the sound come through the TV). it seems the problem has been getting the sound from the MBP to come through and out the TV.

    I don't know what MB Pro you have... 2008 early/late, 2009, mid 2010, etc. ???
Also, what Audio inputs are available for your HDTV?
Not knowing these things for sure, here are your options:
    1. If the HDTV has "Optical Audio" input then you can use this cable to get audio (regardless of what model MBP you have) This kind of audio input is often referred to as Toslink.
I resolved the problem on my machine unexpectedly
    2. If the HDTV only has RCA stereo inputs then you need this cable (again regardless of MBP model)
    http://www.amazon.com/RiteAV-3-5mm-Stereo-Male-Cable/dp/B000V0G2C4/ref=sr12?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1292163583&sr=1-2
If you do have Toslink available on the TV, that is the better choice. Also a perk with Toslink is it even provides 5.1 surround sound capability which is available from your MBP.
As for your Macbook Pro, only the current 2010 models provide audio and video via the mini display port. So, if you your MBP is new, you could use this adapter, mini display to HDMI, then run a standard HDMI cable to your TV.
    http://www.amazon.com/DisplayPort-Female-Adapter-Macbook-Laptop/dp/B002HU629E/re f=sr11?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1292163818&sr=1-1
Earlier MBP that have Minidisplay port only provide video out so you'd still need #1 or #2 above to deliver audio.
If your MBP has DVI port for video, that as well only provides a video signal so #1 or #2 above would apply.
This should cover all of the possibilities.

  • I want to conect my ipod to my laptop for play my music only

You can play the songs on your laptop through iTunes and for this you need to set your iPod to manage the songs manually.
Once you've changed the setting to manual, the songs will bold, selectable and playable on your laptop.

  • I want to buy a MBP with  retina display, can I get the keyboard in another language than the ones listed?

I would like to buy my new mac in the states, but want the keyboard to be in another language than the ones listed (english, french, spanish and japanese). Is this possible if I contact them?
Btw, I know that you can change the language in settings, but I want the physical other keyboard, not to just change it on the mac!

hopefully they can do the same at the apple store Thank you!
I think they can from a physical retail store, but you should ask them directly.  Normally the kinds of keyboards available via special order should be those shown at the site below, but I have heard that some probably are only available outside the US.

  • Moving to Paris from Shanghai, wife wants to buy new MBP.

We'll be in Paris for three years, should she buy it here or wait until we get to Paris?
Fluent in English and Chinese, but French is a work in progress.  Are there various pros and cons to this other than price?
    Many thanks

I know how to change default languages, becasue I read and understand English. But as I said, if the default language is one you don't rread or understand, it can be difficult to change to another one.
Goodness gracious me! The prospective owner is buying a Mac in Shanghai or in Paris. Either way, she's not going to get one set to Maltese or Mongolian! It's going to be Chinese, French, or English. She's Chinese and does business in English and French. If it'll take her more than 30 seconds to change the language in Mac OS X, I'll eat my hat.
There are four considerations, other than price.
    (1) Return & exchange. That's the most important. In theory, it shouldn't make too much difference. In practice, it's much easier to handle this where you bought it.
    (2) Keyboard. That depends on the user, and what she's accustomed to. If she learned to type in France or Wallonie (francophone Belgium), then she's accustomed to AZERTY -- default in Paris, difficult to get in Shanghai. But that doesn't seem likely. If she learned to type in Shanghai, chances are she learned Pinyin on QWERTY. If she's from Taiwan, chances are she learned on Zhuyin, which is also based on QWERTY. I don't know if Apple even sells MBPs with Zhuyin key labels, but, if it does, I suspect they'd be very difficult to get in Paris, and perhaps difficult to get even in Shanghai. If she doesn't need them, then she'll be OK with QWERTY, which she can get in either location. The only caveat is that she might have to wait a little in Paris. When I got a Mac in France (not in Paris, though) I had to wait for several days, because they had only AZERTY in stock.
    (3) Documentation. The days when Macs came with a thick wad of manuals, beautifully typeset and illustrated, printed on thick, glossy paper, are long gone. What they come with nowadays doesn't even deserve the name. And she's trilingual, so it really doesn't matter.
    (4) Bundles or special offers -- if any.
Overall, if it were me, I'd buy in Paris, because, as eww said, that's where it's going to be used. And I'd also get the extended AppleCare.

  • Noob here, wanting to upgrade my MBP HD to 1TB.

So I'm looking to upgrade the internal hard drive of my February 2011 13.3" Macbook Pro. It's 2.70GHz i7, 8GB RAM, current 500GB HD. Does anybody know what a good option would be? Preferably under $100, unless you can convince me that a more expensive one is worth the price difference
I also read a bit that some hard drive upgrades can slow down the computer, which I'd like to avoid as much as possible. But yeah, I just really don't know much on this stuff, so any help would be awesome.
    Cheers!

Any 2.5" SATA Hard Disk Drive that is 9.5 mm thick will work in your MBP.  HGST and Seagate have performed well for me.  I have several 1 TB HDDs from each of those manufacturers.  Look at this link for possible selections:
    http://eshop.macsales.com/shop/hard-drives/2.5-Notebook/
Though a HDD with a faster rotation will enhance performance, it will not be as great as the speed differential suggests.  A 5400 rpm will be satisfactory if the budget is tight.
    Ciao.

  • I want to sell my MBP. How do I completely erase my 2007, 17-inch Macbook Pro that is currently running Snow Leopard. I DO NOT HAVE THE ORIGINAL DISK THAT CAME WITH THE BOX ANYMORE.

I want to sell off my old MacBook Pro and do not want any of my old stuff on it for the next person to fool around with. I'd like a clean-slate for the next guy/gal. It's a 17-inch that I purchased back in '07. It is currently running Snow Leopard after I installed it myself about two years ago. I DO NOT HAVE THE ORIGINAL DISK THAT CAME WITH THE LAPTOP IN THE BOX.

No problem, stick in your 10.6.3 Snow Leopard retail disk you used to upgrade from 10.4/10.5 with
If you don't have this disk anymore, you can order one online at Apple.com for $29, they don't sell it in the physical stores.
    http://store.apple.com/us/product/MC573Z/A
Reboot holding the c or option key down to boot from the disk, select Disk Utility from under the Utilities menu on the second screen (first is language selection)
Now select your boot drive on the left with the drive makers name and disk size and click Erase > Security Option > Zero All Data and click Erase
It will take some time to complete as it's making sure all your personal data if not easily recoverable off the drive using software.
Now quit and you will be back in the installer window, install 10.6 and it will reboot to the "Welcome Video" you can choose to press the power button down and do a hard shutdown, the computer will boot again to this video for the next owner.
If you need even more security in your data deletion efforts I suggest you read this

  • Want to take my MBP outside in warm weather - quick response please? :)

    Hi guys,
I want to take my 2011 15" macbook pro outside. It's 23 degrees Celcius (73 degrees Farenheit) outside, and my laptop's current CPU temperature is 74 degrees with the fans running at 3000 rpm - I'm running a video conversion. Would taking it outside for a few hours kill the battery or HD?
Thanks for any responses... Would like to take it out in the next half hour or so!

Oh, I should add that it would not be a good idea for the computer to be in direct sunlight because that could lead to overheating.
