I want to connect router

I want on my iPad mini to be able to print a web page, the only way I can do this switch is to switch my router Wi Fi off and then switch the printer Wi Fi on. Want to be able to have both the router Wi Fi & the printer Wi Fi on at the same time ?

You can't connect to two Wifi networks at the same time.
Your best bet is to connect your Printer to your internet Wifi network rather than have it create its own Wifi network.
Follow your printer's user guide to connect it to your existing Wifi network.

You need the Airport card OR Airport Express but not both.  Considering the age of your machine, I recommend Airport Express as you will find other uses for it whenever you replace the eMac.
To set up the AE, you do need OSX 10.4 or higher.

  • I want to connect a Belkin router to my TC

I want to connect a Belkin router to my TC via cable to extend my network to my garage.  Can anyone tell me how to go about it, if it is possible to do?

966?? That is not its full model number and revision. I cannot find any listing for 966.
    Belkin numbers are like..
    F5D or F7D something.. usually 4 numbers..
    http://www.dd-wrt.com/wiki/index.php/Supported_Devices#Belkin
See typical models which are semi useful because you can flash them to dd-wrt.
Looking at this airport express on eBay:  Apple Airport Express A1264 54 Mbps Wireless N Router (MB321LL/A)
That is the least useful model.. it has one ethernet port.. so there is no way of using it with ethernet in the garage and the wireless is weak single band.
Here is what I would buy.

Even the next one.. if it is not too expensive is a fair bit better.

    Just to add,
The specific model (HP Officejet Pro 8600, assuming I did understood your intention as you did mentioned an Officejet model) only support infrastructure mode using a router. will help to know the exact model as there is no such a model named as Officejet 6800.
The Wireless Setup Wizard will not detect any ad hoc network - you may establish the connection from the computer by selecting the printer SSID but the connection will drop after 60 minutes due the HP Auto Wireless feature included for this model.

  • E3000 Pressed reset button on back. I just want my old router back :(

Hey all. I have an E3000 router that I love.  One day after coming back from a vacation, I noticed another computer that wasn't mine connected to my network(I live in an apartment complex).  I tried logging into my router but had completely forgotten the login info.  Knowing me I push buttons first, ask questions later and hit the reset button on the back.  Terrible idea, I had no internet connectivity at all wired or wireless.  The only way I could connect was through my modem.  After chatting with Cisco tech support and changing a bunch of ips, dns.  I was able to connect wireless devices.  But something was still missing.  My printer would still not connect, and my NAS was unreachable.  Here is where you guys might help me.  Is there any way to return my E3000 back to its original fresh out of the box state?  I was able to connect everything to it and everything played nicely with each other. Please, I just want my old router back!
    Thanks
    Eric

  • I want to connect my ipad mini to my Apple TV. There isn't a option when I double tap on my ipad button for connecting to the tv and I also can't connect to home sharing from my iTunes settings. Can someone talk to me in simple terms. Thanks

So I have a ipad min. I want to connect it to my Apple TV. There is no option on my ipad for home sharing which my Apple TV is telling me to do.
Can somebody please just explain it to me in simple terms where I can find the home sharing and what I have to do to connect my Apple TV to the ipad or vice versa.
Everything I have bought from apple in the past month has been a complete let down its taking far to long to connect things and the people who sell the products to you lie about what the product does and can do.
    Can someone help me please
    Thanks

AirPlay isn't anything to do with homesharing. (Home sharing lets you share the iTunes libraries on computers)
Basic AirPlay: Assuming both devices are on the same network and that AirPlay is not turned off on the Apple TV, then simply tap on the screen when you are watching content you wish to stream to your Apple TV, then tap the airplay icon that appears in the control bar, choose the Apple TV from the menu that appears.
Mirroring: When displaying the content you wish to mirror on the iPad 2 (or better), iPad Mini, iPhone 4S (or better), double tap the home button (quickly) and swipe the bottom row of apps to the right to reveal the playback controls, tap the AirPlay icon and select your Apple TV from the list of available devices.
Try the following steps, check whether things are working after each step where appropriate, before trying the next.
Check AirPlay is turned on on the Apple TV (turn it off and on if it already is)
Check that both devices are on the same network (Settings > Wifi, on the mobile device and Settings > General > Network, on the Apple TV).
Restart the Apple TV (Settings > General > Restart).
Restart the Apple TV by removing ALL the cables for 30 seconds.
    Restart your router.
    Restart your mobile device.

  • Detect connected routes

I'm trying to figure out the easiest way to do something.  This is being driven in TestStand using Switch Executive.
I have a 2-wire 213 column x 4 row Matrix.  The 4 rows connect up to 4 PXI-5105 channels.  I have defined logical names for each column to go to each of r0, r1, r2, and r3.  The users will pick up to 4 from the 213 columns to route to the 5105 for sampling. If a user connects 4 channels and then decide they want to sample a different channel I'd like to be able to only disconnect the 1 channel they no longer want and connect up the new channel.  I defined route groups called All_To_R0, All_To_R1, etc. with the idea that if the user wants to swap the channel on R0 then I'd call a Disconnect on the All_To_R0 that will guarantee anything connected to R0 gets disconnected and then I'll connect up the new channel.
However, this generates errors saying routes don't exist, which makes sense I suppose.  I could just call a DisconnectAll and leave it up to my users to keep up with which routes they want connected.  I could keep up with this in my driver code but aborts/terminates would prevent me from accurately managing the state of the switch.  Is there a "built in" way to do this?
    Solved!

In NI Switch Executive 3.6 and later, you can call:
    niSE_IsConnected
You can call the function from TestStand using TestStand's ActiveX and C adapters.
Here is a sample .seq file.

How long does it take to connect to Wi-Fi the first time I use my Ipad? It's been over 30 minutes. I see that it wants to connect but it keeps on turning.

It should not take very long. Up to thirty seconds tops depending on your Wi-Fi network.
Try rebooting your Wi-Fi router. Turn off the router for 30 seconds then turn it back on. After the router completes its startup routine and indicates a good connection to the internet start you iPad again and see if it will connect.
If you still have problems you might try connecting to a different Wi-Fi network. Maybe one at your local coffee shop or library.

  • I want to connect my ps3 to my macbook pro wirelessly.

I want to connect my ps3 to my macbook pro wirelessly, my macbook pro is connected to the internet via ethernet.

OS X offers a feature known as Internet Sharing. With this feature enabled, the Mac Pro would perform as a "software" router. If the Mac Pro has built-in wireless (AirPort), you could then use this feature to share the Mac Pro's wired Internet connection via AirPort to the PS3.

  • Traveling with my MB Pro and want secure connectivity

Going on travel and want secure connection using the hotel wifi in my room - is an Airport Express the answer?  If so, I'm VERY fuzzy on how to make the connection - any help out there for a REAL novice?

Hotels, etc. do not usually provide secured connections within the hotel. A simple solution is to use software like Hotspot Shield 3.19 that you pay to use on a monthly, quarterly, biannual, or annual basis. The software itself is free.
You can use a hardware router to create a secured connection between the router and your computer. Such a device must be capable of enabling wireless security for a wireless connection or use NAT for a wired connection. Check the specs for the new Airport Express.

  • Never wants to connect to my wi-fi

My MacBook Pro never wants to connect to my wi fi

Look at iOS Troubleshooting Wi-Fi networks and connections  http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1398
iPad: Issues connecting to Wi-Fi networks  http://support.apple.com/kb/ts3304
iOS: Recommended settings for Wi-Fi routers and access points  http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4199
    Additional things to try.
Try this first. Turn Off your iPad. Then turn Off (disconnect power cord) the wireless router & then back On. Now boot your iPad. Hopefully it will see the WiFi.
Go to Settings>Wi-Fi and turn Off. Then while at Settings>Wi-Fi, turn back On and chose a Network.
Change the channel on your wireless router. Instructions at http://macintoshhowto.com/advanced/how-to-get-a-good-range-on-your-wireless-netw ork.html
Another thing to try - Go into your router security settings and change from WEP to WPA with AES.

Note - When troubleshooting wifi connection problems, don't hold your iPad by hand. There have been a few reports that holding the iPad by hand, seems to attenuate the wifi signal.

  • SystemUIServer wants to connect to Port 192 via Little Snitch

    Hey everyone...
Over the past couple of days my Little Snitch program has been reporting that "SystemUIServer" wants to make a UDP Connection to my router (192.168.2.1) via port 192.
This message only appears after I've booted up the computer and only has been coming up recently.
I installed the latest version of Little Snitch (2.1.4) last week but am not sure why the "SystemUIServer" process wants to connect to my router via port 192 just now out-of-the-blue.
Am I okay in putting a new rule into Little Snitch to allow this request "Forever" or should I be worried?
    Message was edited by: dingdong2u

Is that the IP of your router? If so, it's most likely normal.
It may be some kind of data transfer between your router and the computer.
Does it happen with a direct Ethernet connection and WiFi or only one?
It's listed as OSU Network Monitoring System.
You might block it and see what happens.
Just click on the yellow triangular menu item for LS and turn it off forever and see if you notice anything not working correctly.

  • Addressbooksync wants to connect to strange things

Little Snitch keeps alerting me that addressbooksync wants to connect to all kind of strange things. It looks like anything can request access to this and "spy" to my address book?
I read a number of posts about addressbooksync having problems, but couldn't find any other post about how it tries to access all kind of strange url's. See below picture, the list is much longer then that. It mostly pops up when I am browsing through safari.

Thanks those are helpful - I can also see the activity in my router logs, but this is easier!
I just got another one that's a bit mystic as well since I have NO Microsoft anything on my 2011 Mini... BUT it looks like some kind of System process...
    "netbiosd"

I am running a Seagate Dockstar (Pogoplug) on the LAN sharing a media drive via SMB.
My router is a Linsys/Cisco E2000 with no Apple hardware on the network other than a couple of iPads and a MacBookPro on the WLAN.  Also a couple of TiVos, and AppleTV1 (patched) and sometimes cell phones.
I haven't run down the IDs on all the MAC addresses completely yet - but I've got about 12 devices showing up that I need to identify.  4 are still yet to figue out.
Could an ID like 10.xx.1.xx  have something to do with file sharing maybe?  Dropbox? Elgato Syncmate?  etc.  I do have those running.
