I want to connect to my PC but need an upgrade?

I want to connect my ipad2 to my pc but iTunes on y pc says I need iTunes 10.5 or more on my iPad.  How do I download iTunes 10.5 or more on my ipad2? I cannot find how to do this anywhere!

Do you mean that you've downloaded and installed iTunes 10.5 but that the iPad doesn't appear on the lef-thand side of the updated version ? If so then see if the troubleshooting on this page helps :

You can upgrade to Mountain Lion
Upgrading from Snow Leopard to Mountain Lion
You can upgrade to Mountain Lion from Lion or directly from Snow Leopard. Mountain Lion can be downloaded from the Mac App Store for $19.99.
If you sign into the App Store and try to purchase Mountain Lion but the App Store says your computer is not compatible then you may still be able to upgrade to Lion per the following information.
    Upgrading to Mountain Lion
To upgrade to Mountain Lion you must have Snow Leopard 10.6.8 or Lion installed. Purchase and download Mountain Lion from the App Store. Sign in using your Apple ID. Mountain Lion is $19.99 plus tax. The file is quite large, over 4 GBs, so allow some time to download. It would be preferable to use Ethernet because it is nearly four times faster than wireless.
OS X Mountain Lion - System Requirements
Macs that can be upgraded to OS X Mountain Lion
             1. iMac (Mid 2007 or newer) - Model Identifier 7,1 or later
             2. MacBook (Late 2008 Aluminum, or Early 2009 or newer) - Model Identifier 5,1 or later
             3. MacBook Pro (Mid/Late 2007 or newer) - Model Identifier 3,1 or later
             4. MacBook Air (Late 2008 or newer) - Model Identifier 2,1 or later
             5. Mac mini (Early 2009 or newer) - Model Identifier 3,1 or later
             6. Mac Pro (Early 2008 or newer) - Model Identifier 3,1 or later
             7. Xserve (Early 2009) - Model Identifier 3,1 or later
To find the model identifier open System Profiler in the Utilities folder. It's displayed in the panel on the right.
         Are my applications compatible?
See App Compatibility Table - RoaringApps.

I want to buy a Macbook pro - but need occasional system 10.6.8. Can the macbook from an external HD to start under 10.6.8?

No. Macs cannot run a system that is older than the hardware. You can however pick up a copy of Snow Leopard Server and run it in a virtual machine using Parallels.

You need to empty the trash to get the space back.

Currently running Lion, want to move to server, do I need to upgrade to Mountain Lion first, or will it come with the Server purchase?

No. Mountain Lion Client and Server are two separate purchases and downloads. You will need to upgrade to both.

i hv iphone 2g and when i want to install skype it says it need more upgraded software .. so can i upgrade my 2g 3.1.3 software ??

there is no such thing as an iPhone 2G.  An origional iPhone can't upgrade any higher than 3.1.3.  The next model is the 3G, which can upgrade as high as 4.2.1

  • I want to upgrade to iPhoto 11 but need to upgrade from OS X 10.5.8

Is it possible to upgrade to the latest OS X from OS X v10.5.8 on iMac?

If it's a PowerPC Mac, no.
If it's an Intel Mac, phone the Apple Store and order a Mac OS X 10.6 DVD. While some iMacs can run 10.7 or 10.8, you'll need to go through Mac OS X 10.6.8 to upgrade further. Note that if you want to get iPhoto from the Mac App Store, you'll need to upgrade the computer to 10.7.4 or 10.8.

  • Macbook 2.2 ghz intel core 2 duo with 10.6.8. I want icloud. therefore what OS do I need to upgrade to?

what do I need to upgrade my 10.6.8 OS to in order to get icloud on my MacBook 2.2 Ghz Intel Core 2 duo?

Ok, please try the following, in order, until (hopefully) resolved:
    1a. Delete Preferred Network(s)
    System Preferences > Network > Wi-Fi > Advanced > Wi-Fi tab
Under "Preferred Networks," delete the network(s) you regularly use from the list.
    1b. Delete AirPort Keychain Entries
Launch the "Keychain Access" application located in Applications/Utilties.
In the windows on the left side: Select login for Keychains and "All Items" for Category.
Click on the "Kind" filter at the top, and look for any "AirPort network password" entries...and delete them.
    1c. Add Preferred Network(s)
    System Preferences > Network > Wi-Fi > Advanced > Wi-Fi tab
Add the preferred network(s) using the "+" button.
Restart or log out then back in.
    2. Move System Configuration Files
(Note: You will have to reestablish your network connections settings.)
    Go to /Library/Preferences
Move the SystemConfiguration folder to the desktop.
Restart your Mac. (Note: OS X will rebuild the files that are now sitting on your desktop. If this doesn't resolve the issue, you can move the folder back to it's original location.)

  • HT1695 It's complicated! The wi-fi does'nt want to connect with my iPad, but it connects to every thing else

I just bought an iPad about 3 hours ago and it wont connect to the wi-fi at home. All of my other Apple products connects fine. My MacBook Pro, my iPhone and my parents iPads. My iPad Will connect to other wireless networks. I have tried to turn all the other apple devices off but that didnt help. I have tried to restart the entire Ipad, I have turned airplane mode on and off, I have tried to Reset the network settings... I have tried a lot of things. Does anybody have any ideas? Thank you soooooo much beforehand :-)

    1. Have you tried rebooting router? Turn router off for 30 seconds and on again.
    2. Reset network settings: Settings>General>Reset>Reset Network Settings
    3. Try adding your SSID and Password manually
    Settings>Wi-Fi>Other...>Other Network

  • Upgraded iPad 2 to iOS6 - asking me to connect to iTunes - when I do, my Mac is saying 'detected an iPad in recovery mode but need to upgrade iTunes to a newer version (our Mac too old to upgrade). How do I restore iPad so I can use it again?

I upgraded my iPad 2 to iOS6 following a prompt from the application icon.
Once that was complete, my iPad asked me to connect to iTunes which I did.  iTunes then told me that it detected an iPad/iPod in recovery mode and I needed to have a newer version of iTunes to restore.
I've tried before to upgrade to a new version of iTunes but was advised my Mac was unable to support this due to the Mac's age and old operating system.
How, therefore, do I get back onto using my iPad 'cos at the moment, all I get when I switch it on is the 'connect to iTunes' symbols.
Help please, I'm getting withdrawal symptoms!

During a normal install of iOS 7.0.6 this does not happen but something clearly went wrong in your installation.
To fix this, connect to iTunes and restore to Factory. Hopefully your iPad will be working again and you can restore your iCloud backup during Setup.

Make sure your computer is running smoothly on Snow Leopard OS X 10.6.8
    Create a Backup Before Upgrading...
Then check your Mac is compatible with Mountain Lion OS X 10.8.x
    Upgrade to Mountain Lion
With Regard to ML...  Check here for compatibility of 3rd party Software you may be using...

You should also consider more RAM... Get the Maximum you can for your Mac...
