I want to convert a pdf to a word file and have paid twice to do it for 12 months - now I am told I have to pay again. This is not what I signed up for.

I have paid twice to adobe so I can convert pdf to word files and every time they tell me I have to pay $24 ? again. I can't reach anybody at the office or find out where I can get help.

You have to check with support. This is a user forum. Some of the folks may come by with the phone # or other contact. When you sign up for the conversion, you are using a subscription service that has a period associated with it, not a number of uses. It sounds like you are not using it enough to benefit from the subscription. I believe that is covered by the ExportPDF forum.

What version of Acrobat are you using?
You might need to go to File> Save As Other> Microsoft Word or choose 'Adobe PDF printer' from the File menu.
Is save as option not functioning correctly? Do you get any specific error?

Created a pdf from a word-file and inserted formfields. The fields works in other pdf-readers(nitro,reader etc), but not in adobe reader and acrobat. Please help.

I have created a pdf from a word-file and inserted formfields for a work related file. I've used nitro pro to create the formfield. They works in nitro, reader, foxit etc. but not adobe reader. From page 3 and out, the font wont show when writing in a formfield. Some formfield doesnt even show.
Please help me fix this (hopefully before the presentation at work friday) :-)

Agreed. Adobe makes no claims that their Reader will work properly with forms made from third party software.

I am trying to convert a PDF to a Word Document. I have only recently started using this item so I am not sure what I am doing wrong. When the PDF document is converted to the Word doc it is not converting any symbols, logos or handwritten items. For example I have a sign letter of intent with a signature that I am trying to convert from a PDF to a word document and the signature does not appear on the word doc.

I don't think you're doing anything wrong. I'm not surprised that ExportPDF is having a hard time converting handwriting. One option is to disable OCR as described in this document: How to disable Optical Character Recognition (O... | Adobe Community. Then, ExportPDF won't try to convert those elements into editable text. The only drawback to that is that you won't be able to edit those items when you open the converted document in Word.

Open the file in Acrobat, use File --> Save As... --> Microsoft Word.

Please verify your email address by clicking "this verification link" in the email from Adobe Systems Incorporated with subject "Welcome to Adobe" first.
Using Web UI:
Log into https://exportpdf.acrobat.com/signin.html with your Adobe ID and password
Select “Export from PDF”
Click “Select Files” button then choose your PDF file
Select the format from the list below
Check ON “Recognized text in” if your PDF file is scanned images to recognize the image to text
Click “Export” button
Click “Download” button in the progress bar after completion of exporting to download the file to your computer.
Using Adobe Reader:
Launch Adobe Reader X or Reader XI
Select “Tools” and click “Sign In” link to sign in with your Adobe ID and password
Select “Export PDF” then click “Select PDF file” link
Click “Convert”
Click “Download Converted File” link to download the file to your computer after the process is completed.

Converting a PDF to a Word document that maintains formatting

I am trying to convert a PDF to a Word .doc and it when I select the Export to Word Document option, the formatting goes crazy. Is there a way to maintain the formatting from the .pdf to .doc?

Not really in Acrobat no. If the original document used proper tagging you'd have a better shot at it but those are rare.
There are PDF to Word converters that do a better job available. Try Google and you'll get many options (can't vouch for any personally).

I want to convert to PDF/A, how do I fix errors reported by Preflight?

We want to convert existing PDF (printed from various applications, not scanned) to PDF/A-format using the Preflight tool.
Some are converted, others not because Preflight found some errors.
The question is: how can we fix those errors?
Or is there a smarter tool available that fixes all these errors automaticallly?

You need to master content and create PDF in a manner that provides a PDF that is actually eligible for PDF/A.
Review the web for various short takes on what is required for PDF/A.
One good resource is the PDF Association.
The get the real nitty-gritty (& thus avoid false starts) purchase the ISO Standard for PDF/UA.
An example of proper "prep" => create a PDF that has fonts and font sub-sets embedded.
This can be done with ease as you have Acrobat X.
When using PDFMaker configure such that the Distiller job option used embeds fonts.

it seems my subscription had expired so I signed up again.. It was still having trouble so I repeated the sign up process again.. Then it worked perfectly.. Unfortunately, I think I just subscribed twice and need to cancel one of them. Ugh. Such a pain when I'm trying to get this project completed. I'll be canceling at least one of the subscriptions in the morning. Adobe is not my favorite company right now. None of this was intuitive. And trying to get help was an absolute waste of an hour.
