i often use an online forum for work with the OU and am unable to copy and paste within the forum - if i wish to copy from one thread to another, i have to copy to word then re copy and paste to another thread - annoying

Firefox doesn't store the bookmarks as separate files in a folder, but uses a sqlite database file with the name places.sqlite.
You will have to export those favorites in IE to an HTML file and import that file in Firefox.
Bookmarks > Organize Bookmarks > Import & Backup > Import HTML : "From File"

That's not how iMessage was designed to work. It works with your contacts. You start typing a phone number or email address and you'll se a list of hint from auto-complete. After you select a suggestion, start typing another address. If the addresses you want are not in your contacts, you'll need to enter each of them manually.

I have tried changing the cell formats for that column from "automatic" to "text", but that doesn't fix it. Is there a way to copy/paste this information without changing the original characters?

If you know how many rows/columns you are planning to paste, then make the table that big BEFORE you paste. In addition select all cells in the table by selecting any cell, then type the key combination <COMMAND>+a (for select all.
Then use the cells inspector to make the cells formatted as text:

I want to copy and paste a chart from an email into Pages on MAC. I only get the text. Not the chart.

I recieved an email that included a chart that I want to put in a document. When I copy and paste the chart in Pages it only shows the text without the chart. This shouldnt be too hard but I have no idea why it will not copy this in the format or image that it is. Thanks.

I'm sorry I do not know how to determine the format of the chart. It was sent to me in the body of an email...it was not an attachment. Is there a way for me to find that out?
I actually tried both ways...I copied just the chart & then I copied the whole body of the email that included the chart. Either way, the chart-lines/box did not paste. Only the text.

Envy 17-j020us, cannot cut/copy and paste within file explorer

I can cut/copy and paste url's and text from word, etc, but I am unable to cut/copy and paste files within file explorer windows. I have tried running malwarebytes and virus programs. HP support has tried remote access to find the problem unsuccessfully. Is there any other option besides doing a factory reset or restore point? Thanks in advance for any help.

Have you tried all three methods of cutting and pasting? Using the keyboard shortcuts CRTL-X and CTRL-V, right click the file and selecting cut and then using the file explorer ribbon / File menu.
If you have tried all three the next thing to try is a Clean Boot to see if something is in the background blocking the command. A clean boot loads Windows with minimal software and drivers. This Microsoft Support link will show you how to do it.
Once you have performed the clean boot try all three methods of cutting and pasting. If it works the next step is going back to msconfig (see Microsoft link above) and enable half of the services you shutoff to do the Clean Boot. Then try cutting and pasting again. Keep enabling half of the remaining services until you can't cut and paste then disable half of the services you just enabled. Do this until you pinpoint what service caused the issue.
If after all that you are still having a problem then the next step would backing up your files onto an external hard drive or USB flash drive and then doing a full System Recovery.

This may sound like a silly question, but how can I copy and paste workflows/dataflows in the BODI designer?

In the Local Object Library you will find all the worfkflows and dataflows created by you.
In the Local Object Library Go the respective tabs (i.e., worfkflows/dataflows) and then select the dataflow/workflow you want to copy, right click on it and then select replicate.
You will have the copy of dataflow/workflow created, you can now use that by simply dragging it and dropping it into the workspace.

hi there, several years ago I just used sound edit to simply copy and paste selections of music and then put them together.
Today all the programs I find are far too complicated for what I want.
any suggestions for a program that will let me just select a section of music and paste it into a new file?

You can import songs from iTunes into GarageBand where you can cut, copy edit and what not.

The bar where the html is suppose to show, the new feature of firefox 4 doesn't seem to show it, what do i do when i want to copy and paste it without loading or refreshing the page again?

You can find the Copy, Paste, and Cut buttons in the Edit menu and the Edit sub menu in the Firefox menu.<br />
If you need access to the menu bar then press F10 or press and hold the Alt key down to bring up the "Menu Bar" temporarily.
You can also find them as toolbar buttons in the toolbar palette in the Customize window and drag them on a toolbar.

I cannot copy and paste from Word 2007 into Firefox (gmail), and I cannot copy and paste from Firefox (URLs) into a word document.

Starting two days ago, I can no longer copy and paste between Firefox and Word 2007. I can copy within each program.

I had similar issues starting about the same time or within the past week. However, I can copy and paste, it just takes considerably longer than it used to before. Copying something from a web page into Word could take up to 30 seconds now on my computer but it shows a busy mouse pointer while it is loading, then clicks/pops when it loads into the Word document, but then actually takes about another 5 to 10 seconds to appear in the Word document. I have no idea why it is delaying now when it did not do it before, but since it is still going into the document I am living with it for now. Are you waiting long enough to see if it appears?

Can't Copy and Paste into Illustrator CS3 from Firefox 3!

I read these things all the time, but first time posting, so you KNOW this problem is annoying me.
I could always copy and paste from Firefox 2 into Illustrator CS2/CS3. However, once I upgraded to Firefox 3 I no longer can! I get the annoying "Quicktime and a decompressor are needed to see this picture." I can't believe more people aren't complaining more about this. Save your time posting about "Illustrator is a vector program, and Photoshop is pixel based," I know I have been able to do it before so that is not the issue. Any light that could be shed on the situation would be great! Thanks in advance.

I found that FF3 originally renamed .jpegs to the JFIF format when draging and dropping to the desktop, and it was not until March when the code was finalized that that you could drag and drop to your desktop without the conversion. You get around the illustrator CS3 problem a number of ways...drap and drop to the desktop and then to illustrator CS3, Drap and drop to photoshop CS3 and then to Illustrator CS3 or save as to the desk top, or use an older version of Firefox. I am currently tyring to determine if the JFIF renaming issue is what is preventing the direct drag and drop to Illustrator, and if there is a fix for issue. Any help out there or ideas would be helpful.
