I want to create a new itunes account but keep the content. Is this possible?

My family has always used one Itunes account for all devices. Now it is necessary for us to create a new itunes account. We want to keep the apps, music etc that we each have now. How can I do this? Is this even possible?

You can't transfer purchases from one account to another account. Apple doesn't allow it.
You can continue to use your daughter's Apple ID in order to continue to use the apps that you purchased with her ID and you will need to use her ID and password any time that you want to update those apps. What you do want to avoid is having to download any of those purchased apps again on any other devices - if you create a new Apple ID.
If you create a new ID and then you sign into her ID in order to download a previous purchase- you will lock yourself out of the new ID for 90 days and there is nothing that you can do about it. So as long as you do NOT download any past purchases with her ID - you will not lock yourself out of the new ID. So you can keep using the apps that were bought with her ID, you can also update those apps using her ID (you have to sign into her account in Settings>Store) but you can't download past purchases without messing things up with your new ID.
When you download a past purchase with a different ID - you associate that device with the different ID for 90 days. This is one way that Apple hopes to cut down on pirating of apps - friends using other friends IDs in order to download apps without patting for them.

Transfer all of those purchases into iTunes so that if something happens and you need the purchased content again, you can just sync it again rather than downloading it.

On the device you do not want the auto downloads to be installed on: Settings/iTunes & App Store. Deselect what you do not want to be automatically downloaded.

There isn't a way - at least not that I have found. I'm having an issue with this as well - seems like a shoddy sort of business practice. I refuse to enter my credit card number to download a FREE app. I'm encouraging the user community that has a problem with this to please post your opinion as well. If you can't access the App Store from the Apple menu, Dock, or Applications folder installing the Mac OS X 10.6.8 Update Combo will reinstall the App Store for you.
It's ok to do this even you are already running v10.6.8.

Whenever a menu choice is grayed out, that is because you have Restrictions turned on in Settings. Be sure to turn it off.
You are confusing an itunes store account with an icloud account. You two can continue using the same ID for itunes (thus sharing purchased music, apps, etc.), but you really should have separate accounts (different IDs) for icloud, since an account is intended for one user to keep his/her devices in sync.
To create a new icloud account, go to

Then go to Settings>icloud and scroll to the bottom of the screen and tap Delete Account. (have restrictions turned off) That will disconnect the device from the account but will not delete data in icloud or other devices. Then sign in using the new ID.

So you're already using this particular email for your current Apple ID programed into your phone?
Every new Apple ID must use a unique email, you can't create 2 Apple ID's with the same email account.

I have created an account of my own but I need help tranferring the content that is on my ipod touch to my new itunes. I am scared to update my ipod or syncing it because it might delete my content. The photos are on the ipod. Photo sync will erase them. I need a way to extract them from the ipod, or to.extract them from the ipod backup that is who knows where on my PC.

Can I add a second device to my iTunes account but keep the downloads from each separate

I have family plan with provider and have added a phone for a family member. Is it possible to make purchases from the app store on the new device but charge my itunes account? If so, would those downloads be shared between devices or could they be kept seperate? I do not want my purchases to appear on the new device or vice versa.

You can change the name of the new iPad to something else by connecting it to iTunes and selecting the name. When the name highlights you can change it.
