I want to create more icloud email addresses.

I want to create more icloud email addresses.

You can add up to three 'email aliases' - these are additional addresses (not accounts) which deliver into the same inbox as the main account. (In fact it's a good idea to give out alias addresses, rather than the main address, because if they attract spam you can easily change them.) (New aliases can only be @icloud.com ones; @me.com addresses cannot now be created.)
You should be aware before you start that once you've created an alias you cannot turn that address into a full iCloud account or move it to another account.

If you want to keep her email separate from yours she will need to create a new Apple ID, and use it to create a new iCloud account either on a separate computer or on a separate User Account on your Mac.

If you want multiple aliases, just login to iCloud.com and you can create them there in your mail account settings.

  • Early iMac (not Lion eligible), does my mobile me email address cease to work after June, 2012?  Can one create an iCloud email address?

Cannot update to Lion on this early intel iMac.  Now I find out I cannot move mail, contacts to iCloud.  My question is, will my mobile me email address continue to work after June, 2012?  Can one create an iCloud email address to use with iPhone and iPad?

If you own a iOS5 idevice like a ipod touch you are eligible to use icloud. This will preserve your current Email and Adress Book data after MobileMe dies next year.
Else you would need to purchase a Lion capable Mac or set up a Vista/Win7 PC with office2007/10  to use icloud.

Are you logged into your iCloud with the AppleID you used to create the iCloud address?
If so, check the Mail checkbox in iCloud System Preferences and then go to Mail and look at Accounts Preferences. Does the email account show up in the iCloud account?

I want to use one of my icloud email addresses as a new apple ID.  It was an additional email contact address I originally set up for my child.  But now, I'd like to set her up on Family Sharing, using that email as her ID.  Obviously, when I try to use it when setting up a new apple ID, it says the email is already being used (Yes, by ME) and I need to select a different one.  Can I somehow delete that email address in order to set up a new apple ID using it?  Or is there another way to "re-use" that address for my child's new ID?

"Well, then I want to be able to merge that one and the one my purchases are on..."
This is exactly what I want to do but don't think I can:
    I noticed the following :
If you attempt to create an Apple ID which is the same as your @icloud email address from the online facility, it does not allow you (can't use an Apple associated email address as your Apple ID). However - if you start a fresh device - such as a new iPhone, iPad (must be mobile it seems), and then create an iCloud account and Apple ID from the prompts when setting up the mobile device, it IS possible to have your Apple ID and @iCloud email address as the same. I know because I just did it!
Unfortunately for me, the result I got above is not for one of my own ID's but a friends, and I would VERY much like to do the same - my current Apple ID is a completely different email address from my iCloud account. Trying to get them the same in my situation is a major bother - I think that if I wipe a device (such as an iPhone5 that is mine) and try to setup as I did my friend's device, then I will get a conflict because the iCloud email I have ALREADY exists. This is my worry and I will not attempt this until I get the new iPad 4 soon to test this.
There is an inconsistency here between the two methods of creating Apple ID's and iCloud accounts.
Overall in my opinion, the Apple ID system as currently available from Apple is not designed very well, and should be addressed.
    Best wishes -

  • HT4479 I have an Apple ID that's not an email, and I have been told it needs to be an email address.  I change it to my email address and it says my email is already in use.   I only have one email address.  I don't want to create a second email address.

I have an email account and they want me to use my (same) email account name as my Apple ID.  When I do it says my email is already in use.  Is Apply suggesting I need to create a second email address?

Is the email address being used in the account of another Apple ID that you have?

  • Want to change my iCloud email address?

How do I change my iCloud email address?

You can't change you iCloud email address unless you create a new iCloud account.  You can, however, create an alias @icloud.com email address that will receive email in your current iCloud inbox, as explained here: http://help.apple.com/icloud/#/mm6b1a490a.

  • HT4436 I have a primary email address that I use now that is not an icloud account.  If I create an icloud email address, will I be able to send/receive  emails on both accounts simultaneously?

I have a current primary email address that is not an icloud account.  If I create an icloud email account, will I be able to send and receive emails from both accounts simultaneously, or will the icloud account become my primary account and will I then have to inform everyone that I have a new email address?

    Welcome to the Apple Community.
You can use either account and set one as default if you wish.

hello guys ...i need any help or suggestions, how can i change my icloud email address?? i typed a w rong name by mistake?? can i change it and retype the correct one? thanks ...your suggestio is higly appreciated.

That's definitely not supposed to happen.  You shouldn't have someone else's iCloud email linked to your ID.
You'll have to get iCloud support to sort this one out.  The only way to contact them is to start here: http://www.apple.com/support/icloud/.  You'll have to provide your iPhone serial number.  Unless it's within the 90 day free support window, or you purchased AppleCare, there will be a charge.  I suppose you can plead your case when they answer that you shouldn't be charged as you didn't set up this address and it shouldn't have happened with your ID.

  • How can I create a iCloud email address to replace a apple ID.

I am wanting to change my apple ID to an Icloud address but when I try the default is to create another apple ID - which I dont want to do.  Is this possible?

You should still be able to use your college email address, just log in with your details.

CAN I GET A NEW EMAIL ADDRESS HERE OR DO I USE THUNDERBIRD?

It's not a good idea to combine a personal Apple ID with one intended for business via an Alias. You should always separate personal from business, e.g. tax purposes, etc...
