I want to delete books from my iPad

I want to add support to everyone's request to be able to delete books from my iPad. If you are going to provide free books I believe I should be able to delete them since there is not a cost involved.

I'm not sure why you think you can't delete books in iBooks. I do all the time......
On your iDevice, go to the iBooks app -> tap on "edit" and tap on the selections your want to delete and hit "Delete"

I want to delete books from my iPad but they are still there ....how do I get rid of purchased books?,

You should be able to delete them from the bookshelf in the iBooks app via the Edit button at the top right of the bookshelf. If they show on the bookshelf with a cloud symbol on them then try turning Settings > iBooks > Show All Purchases 'off'. Is that what is happening ?

• HT4236 I want to delete photos from my iPad but this help page does not help, when I click on devises a pop up for photos does not appear.

I want to delete photos from my iPad . But the help page does not help. When I click devices a photo pop up option does not appear

The instructions in HT4236 are as follows:
To delete synced photos and videos
In iTunes, select the device icon in the Devices list on the left. Click the Photos tab in the resulting window.
Choose "Sync photos from."
On a Mac, choose iPhoto or Aperture from the pop-up menu.
On a Windows PC, choose Photoshop Album or Photoshop Elements from the pop-up menu.
Choose "Selected albums" and deselect the albums or collections you want to delete.
Click Apply.
No where does it say anything about a "photo pop up option". When you click on your device icon a panel with many tabs appears. One of these tabs is "Photos". You are supposed to click on the "Photos" tab.

• Want to delete music from my iPad

How do I delete unwanted music from my newly update software in my ipad

You can swipe across songs from right to left in the songs tab of the music app to delete specific songs. If you see songs with the cloud icon next to them, they are not really on the iPad. They are in iCloud. You can hide them if you like.
Settings>iTunes & App Store>Show all>Music>Off.

• I have a iPad 2. My husband set it up with his name and account. I want to delete him from my iPad. I can't download anything with out it asking for his password. I have my own account now. But it still reverts back to him when I want to update my stuff.

I have an iPad 2 which my husband set up. He set it all up in his name and passwords. I have since gotten my own user I'd and password, however, it i need to update,or anything else, it still comes up with his name. I don't have a clue how to get rid of all his stuff. Please help me to delete him completely. ????thanks you

Restore the device and set it up as new.
Either plug it into itunes and select restore under the summary tab, or (post ios5) go into settings, general, reset, erase all content and data. When either asks to save a backup, you dont have to....hit No etc..
This will bring the ipad to the start screen like you just bought it and erase everything.

• Delete books from iPad

How do I delete books from my IPad? No matter how many times I select delete my books remain, they are not deleted. I want them completely removed.

Turning "Show all Purchases" off merely hides the Purchased folder on iBooks, the books I don't want still appear in the "Books" folder.
Even if I move them to another folder, delete that folder and tell iBooks to remove those books, iBooks inexplicibly moves those books back to the Books folder. I deleted them from my PC, I even told iTunes not to sync any books, I've deleted iBooks, and yet lo and behold, despite all this, iBooks seems to have decided that what I really meant was that "show these books that haven't finished downloading no matter what I say"

• How can I delete music from my iPad mini?

I want to delete music from my iPad mini, as in from the library but I can't seem to be able to. Does anyone know how to do this?

If the music is downloaded/synced to the Music app (i.e. it's not in the cloud, it doesn't have the cloud icon against it) then you should be able to delete tracks by swiping/dragging across them from right-to-left. If you have iOS 8 on your iPad then you can use the swipe/drag to also delete albums and/or artists, or you can delete tracks / albums / artists via Settings > General > Usage > Manage Storage (under 'storage' heading) > Music. You can also delete all music via Settings > General > Usage > Music on iOS 7, Settings > General > Usage > Manage Storage > Music on iOS 8.
If the music does have the cloud against it then you can stop cloud music showing via Settings > iTunes & App Store > Music (under 'show all') 'off'
You can also delete music when connected to your computer's iTunes, either by changing your sync selection if using automatic syncing, or by selecting Music under the iPad 'device' on the left-hand sidebar of iTunes (option-comman-S on a Mac, control-S on a PC, should enable/disable the sidebar) and using the right-hand side of the iTunes screen to select and delete music

• I have a Kindle and the new iPad 3. I downloaded one of my Kindle books to my iPad. Now I want to remove the book from the iPad. When I highlight the book, the "device" key that I think I am supposed to use disappears. Please help.

I have a Kindle and the new iPad 3. I downloaded one of my Kindle books to my iPad. Now I want to remove the book from my iPad. When I highlight the book, the "device" button (which I think I am supposed to use) disappears. How do I get the select the book and get it off the iPad and back to my Kindle? Thanks for your help.

To remove the book simply touch and hold the cover on the main page. A little pop up will ask, remove? Say yes. The book content will de deleted. The cover will remain on your main page with a little down arrow so that you can redownload it if you wan in the cloud view. In the device view, it simply disappears.
Note at the bottom of the page are a couple of switches, labeled cloun and device. The device switch shows you books on your device. The cloud page shows your whole catalog, and the down arrow allows you to bring down anything in your catalog to the device.

I also would like to find out how to delete photos from the ipad. Everyone that is answering is talking about how to get them on and how to do stuff on the iphone. Please stay focused if you're goign to answer. don't be talking just to hear yourselves talk. If you're going to answer, please just answer the question. Apparently everyone that has answered doesn't know. Putting the ipad usermanual is not helpful. If we wanted to read that monster we would have.
Wow!
I thought it might be worthwhile to put your useless piece of excrement up and let everyone enjoy it at least one more time.
Had you read "... that monster..." you might have twigged to the fact that what they are talking about is in fact how it's done and, contrary to your claim, those that answered do in fact know, and did answer the question. The fact that you don't know is understandable, the fact you're too lazy or uncaring to do anything on your own regrettable, and the fact that people are wasting time responding to you very much a one-time thing.

• HT203082 When can I delete photos from my iPad 3 (IOS 8.1.3) knowing they are safe in iCloud? I want to release storage space.

My iPad 3 is busily uploading all my stuff to iCloud Photo Library Beta. When it is done, is it safe to delete albums from my iPad? I need to release more storage space. And when I want to find my photos in iCloud, how do I do that?

Icloud Photo Library is not an Archive. If you delete photos from your device they will also be deleted from the iCloud Photo library.
Read through the FAQ here: iCloud Photo Library beta FAQ - Apple Support
if you want to archive your photos use a service like Dropbox.
