I want to delete from my DCIM/Photo Library folder
I want to delete either individual photos or the entire DCIM & Photo Library folders, is this possible? When I purchased my iPhone the attendant transferred photos from my old phone over (1,877 to each of those folders), which I already had saved elsewhere, and it is using valuable memory space and they need to be deleted. I can't even update my software because I don't have enough storage! I do have a lot of apps for my kids on my phone but I don't think I should have to delete those because they are used all the time. The DCIM/Photo Library folders need to go pronto....Any help would be greatly appreciated!

The only way you can do that is to import them into your library first, but you may have done that already.
The easiest way to tell is to select a photo from the photostream album in iPhoto and ctrl-click on it, if it gives you the option to import it isn't in your iPhoto library, if it offers you the option to show in library it has already been imorted. -
I backed my old iphone up to my computer and bought a new iphone. When i backed my new phone up I now I have an icloud photo (from my computer) album that I want to delete from my phone but I do not have the option. Please help.
If the album was synced to your phone from your computer, it can only be removed by sycing it off. To do this, deselect the folder on the Photos tab of your iTunes sync settings and sync.

I deleted notes on my mac but did not want them deleted from iPhone but after synching they are all done. Can I get them back?
Deleting on one device does not affect another device.
You can delete the App's on the iPhone and nothing will happen to the ones on the iPad.
1. You don't need to.
2. Settings->Cellular->"Use Cellular Data For" will show the data usage for each App since the last statistics reset
3. Settings->General->Background App Refresh Will show which Apps are allowed to get data in the background
4. It restricts it to Wifi. If the App requires internet access and Data is turned off, it will have to wait until the device is connected to a wifi network.
5. Nope, You just use up battery since the BT radio will continuously look for nearby BT devices.
6. The Personal Hotspot uses your cellular internet connection from your phone or other cellular device; whether you consider that secure or not I cannot say. It also depends on what you are doing while connected to the Hotel's wifi. I would not do online banking while on vacation though. -
I am trying to free up some room on my touch and am unable to delete any songs or books from the listing. With iTumes open and my touch listed I open the touch. I then select the items I want to delete from the touch and press the delete button. Nothing happens. I have also tried to right click on the item, but a delete option is not listed. What do I need to do to get rid of some books?

I have recently bought a new mac mini running Lion, and yesterday I migrated an account off an older machine running Tiger.
I want to delete the older account from this machine as it is causing some problems with i-cloud, but I want to transfer the photos first and add them to a different account on the new computer.
So my question is How do I move all the photos from the i-photo library on one account to the i-photo library on another account?Copy the iPhoto library from the old Mac to the Desktop of the new one. Then download the paid version of iPhoto Library Manager, which is now compatible with Mt. Lion, and use it to merge the two libraries into a new, third library. This will preserve the two libraries in case the merged library isn't to your liking.

When you're satisfied that the new, merged libraray is complete and working OK you can delete the two earlier libraries.

i recently upgraded my 4s to a 5s. the verizon store took my old phone for a trade in. i cannot get any of my pictures to download from icloud. my photo stream folder only has a small percentage of the photos in it. any help would be greatly appreciated.
That's possible if he didn't connect to a WiFi hotspot after taking them. I don't think the "Personal" Photo Stream uploads over Cellular, unless they changed it since the last time I used it.
If that's the case, then the photos likely didn't upload to Photo Stream and are stuck on the phone.
And you're not going to be able to get them back, either. -

I recently synced photos in iphoto 6 and selected the folders i wanted I wanted to sync in iTunes. after the sync, the folders that i wanted to sync are there, but also the photo library folder is there. I wish to not have the photo library folder there since it is just a duplication of what is in the other folders that i have asked iTunes to sync. Any Suggestions???Well, actually it is not a duplication. The Photos app stores photos the same way that iPhoto does. All photos synced to your phone are stored in the "Photo Library". The photos you see in the various albums/folders are really pointers to the actual photos which are in your photo library. They are not duplicates, and no you cannot get rid of the Photo Library.

I have updated my mac from snow leopard to mountain lion 3 days back. I had some important data in my library folder and it got overwritten. Is there any way i can get the data back from my snow leopard library folder?
I tried mackeeper to recover files but it could not. Any other way any one has tried to recover a system library folder after OS upgrade?No, it doesn't store a clone. You would have needed to make one with either SuperDuper or CarbonCopy Cloner.
If the files were in your ~/Library folder then they may still be there. As I said, you can access it by
going to your Finder "Go" menu hold the option key to choose "Library". I wouldn't think an upgrade would overwrite anything in ~/Library.
If you have a Time Machine backup you may also be able to use that to retrieve them. -
Can I use iCloud to store photos I want to delete from my iPhone 5s?

I want to free up space on my 16G iPhone 5s. All of my photos are stored on iCloud, however, when I delete a photo from my iPhone 5s, it also deletes in iCloud. Is there a way to use iCloud as a way to store photos that I don't want on my iPhone any longer, but I want to save?
Note: The photos on my iPhone 5s are all on iPhoto on my iMac running OS X Yosemite 10.10.3. I have not opened the "photos" app which appeared on the doc when the system upgraded to OS X Yosemite 10.10.3 as I'm not sure how this will affect the whole "delete from my iPhone, but keep in iCloud" dilemma.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

C. GrayiCloud isn't designed as a cloud-only storage method. The closest you can get is to change a setting to optimize storage on your iPhone so that a smaller "device-size version" is kept on your phone. See the quote below from iCloud Photo Library FAQ - Apple Support

The iPhone stores photos the same way iPhoto does on a Mac. All photos are synced to your Photo Library. The various albums/folders merely contain pointers to the actual photos which are in your Photo Library, they are not duplicates.

You don't really sync photos from the devices to the Mac, you import them to an app; iPhoto, Aperture or Image Capture. During that process you are given an option to erase the photos from the device. Is this not the manner that you used?
