  • HT4236 I want to delete photos from my iPad but this help page does not help, when I click on devises a pop up for photos does not appear.

I want to delete photos from my iPad . But the help page does not help. When I click devices a photo pop up option does not appear

The instructions in HT4236 are as follows:
To delete synced photos and videos
In iTunes, select the device icon in the Devices list on the left. Click the Photos tab in the resulting window.
    Choose "Sync photos from."
On a Mac, choose iPhoto or Aperture from the pop-up menu.
On a Windows PC, choose Photoshop Album or Photoshop Elements from the pop-up menu.
Choose "Selected albums" and deselect the albums or collections you want to delete.
    Click Apply.
No where does it say anything about a "photo pop up option". When you click on your device icon a panel with many tabs appears. One of these tabs is "Photos". You are supposed to click on the "Photos" tab.

  • I want to remove some photos from my iPad--but I don't want to remove them from my Mac. How do I remove photos using the iPad itself?

I want to remove a few photos from my iPad, but not from my Mac (from-to which I sync). Is this possible? I can get the "delete" button to show on the iPad, but it is not fully lit--i.e. pressing it does no good.

You can delete photos that you took on the pad, and photos that you imported from the camera connection kit right on the pad.  That delete button will work on those.
Photos that you synced from the mac get deleted by resyncing.  When you connect the pad, push the photos tab, uncheck sync all, and then select only the photos you want on the pad.   The mac acts like the master storage unit, and all the photos will stay there (unless you delete them in i photo) and copies are placed onto the pad.
Photos you take on the pad, by the way, dont get moved to the mac during a sync, you need to import them to iphoto.  While the pad is connected, open up i photo, and the pad will show up as a device on the left side.  You can select which pad photos you want to import.  Those photos are now part of the master copy on the mac, and can be synced back to the pad, or not, as you decide.

  • HT4890 Hi!  I have followed all the steps given to delete photos from my ipad, but photos were downloaded to a pc then entered on icloud.  I have deleted from pc, reset icloud on ipad, and yet the photos are still on ipad w/o option to delete. Help!

Hi.  I am having difficulty deleting photos from icloud - which in turn affects my 3rd generation ipad.  Photos were added to icloud from my pc and then automatically added to ipad.  I deleted photos from pc (not successful), attempted to reset icloud photo stream on ipad (not successful) and would appreciate any guidance as to how to remove these photos from an ipad that does not give me the option to do so.  I have read other responses that lead me to believe it is not possible but hope this is not the case

  • If i import photos from my ipad to iphoto for mac, will deleting them from my ipad also remove them from my mac?

If i import photos from my ipad to iphoto for mac, will deleting them from my ipad also remove them from my mac?

No. They will remain on the Mac. That's one of the reasons why it's a good idea to import your treasured photos. If something happens to the iPad, you still have your photos.

How do I delete photos from my iPad but keep them on my mac?

Set iPhoto to automatically import photo stream photos to your iPhoto library:
Once imported, deleting them from your photo stream will not delete them from your library.  If they aren't imported yet, contol-click on the photos and choose Import.

  • I need to remove my photos from my ipad to make room for movies not sure how to go about doing this.

Hi, I need to make room for some movies on my ipad, but i have to many photos how to i take the photos from my ipad but leave them on my iphone and desktop computer? Thank you

If the photos were synced from your computer then with your iPad connected to and selected on the left-hand side of your computer's iTunes, then on the right-hand side on the Photos tab select an empty folder and sync just that to the iPad and the currently synced photos should be removed from the iPad - that won't affect your iPhone unless you also do the same de-selection when it's connected.
If the photos were taken with the iPad, copied to it via the camera connection kit, or saved from emails/websites etc then you can copy them off the iPad first (http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4083) and you can then delete them directly on the iPad in the Photos app via the icon of the box with the arrow coming out of it

  • I have the newest IPad and want to download photos from my computer to the IPad.  The instructions say to put photos under My Pictures, but I have thousands of photos in that category.  I don't want to download all my photos, just the newest ones.  Help!

I have the newest IPad and want to download photos from my computer.  However, I have thousands of photos stored under My Pictures on my desktop.  How can I transfer just the newest album to my IPad?  I'm afraid that all the photos will be downloaded.  Please advise.

Another way. You can use a USB flash drive & the camera connection kit.
Plug the USB flash drive into your computer & create a new folder titled DCIM. Then put your movie/photo files into the folder. The files must have a filename with exactly 8 characters long (no spaces) plus the file extension (i.e., my-movie.mov; DSCN0164.jpg).
Now plug the flash drive into the iPad using the camera connection kit. Open the Photos app, the movie/photo files should appear & you can import. (You can not export using the camera connection kit.)

  • How do I delete a lot of old photos from my iPad at the same time?

I have a 64Gb iPad and I have filled it with photos from past holidays.  I want to delete them so that I can store photos from this holiday.  I import photos from my digital camera to inspect, edit & share while I am away, but load them in a separate library at home.  So I can safely delete them now.  It would be nice to be able to select by date range, say.  The only way I have found so far is to select one by one.  A couple of thousand selections will take a long time...

I searched myself for a long time and could not yet find a "select multiple and delete" function to delete from the camera roll.
The quick and dirty way way would be to connect your iPad by USB to your computer. It will be seen as a camera by Image Capture or iPhoto or Aperture, if you have it. Then select the photos you want to delete from the iPad and import them to your Computer (you can delete them immediately afterwards again) and enable the flag "Delete from camera after importing".
This will erase all imported photos from the camera roll at once, Only I hesitate to recommend that, because it is usually safer to let the camera erase the card, for each device knows its filesystem best.
    Regards
    Léonie

Is there a way to delete unwanted pictures from the Photos app on an iPad?

    Welcome to the Apple Community.
Navigate to the photo sheet page (the one with the thumbnails) tap the edit button in the top right corner, tap the photos you want to delete to select them, tap the delete button in the bottom right corner.

  • My iPad is ios8 and my iPhone is ios7. I want to get photos from my iPhone into the photostream. Can I?

How can I get photos taken with my ios7 iPhone into my iCloud photostream which is ios8?

If you look at the link that Old Toad posted and scroll down to the section "Minimum system requirements by feature", you'll see, that you can use iCloud to transfer your photos from iOS 7 devices:
To use iCloud, you need at least iOS 5 on iPhone 3GS, iPod touch (3rd generation), iPad, or iPad mini; or at least OS X Lion v10.7.5 on a Mac.
iCloud Photo Sharing works with iOS7, see: iCloud: Using and troubleshooting Shared Photo Streams

  • HT201317 My iPhone is not showing most of my older photos from my iPad on the Photostream. How can I fix this?

I got an iPhone 5. And I have an iPad 2 from last year. I can see only some of my iPad photos in my iPhone photostream. Older ones do not show...

Photo Stream only holds photos for 30 days or 1000 photos which ever comes first.
If you have a PC/Mac set up with iCloud you can find them there.
Photo Stream was never intended to be a backup solution it just syncs across devices
