I want to disable my icloud account. I do not want it to delete my data and documents on my Imac. I do want to ensure my data is erased from the cloud

If you have documents on icloud, e.g. Pages or Numbers, be sure to use the programs on the mac to move them to a local folder. Then, for the "Apple" data (contacts, calendars, etc.)...
Go to Settings>incloud and then begin turning the various services. For example, if turning contacts OFF, you will get a prompt asking whether to delete the data from the device or leave it as local data. Do it for all services. When done, scroll to bottom of screen and tap Delete Account.

If the old ID is yours, and if it is an earlier version of your current ID, go to https://appleid.apple.com, click Manage my Apple ID and sign in with your current iCloud ID. Click edit next to the primary email account, change it back to your old email address and save the change. Then edit the name of the account to change it back to your old email address. You can now use your current password to turn off Find My iDevice, even though it prompts you for the password for your old account ID. Then save any photo stream photos that you wish to keep to your camera roll. When finished go to Settings>iCloud, tap Delete Account and choose Delete from My iDevice when prompted (your iCloud data will still be in iCloud). Next, go back to https://appleid.apple.com and change your primary email address and iCloud ID name back to the way it was. Now you can go to Settings>iCloud and sign in with your current iCloud ID and password.

i just got a pre-used iphone 5S. It has a disabled icloud account. i tried to delete it but it asks me about the password.
i cant reset the account cause i don't know the email for verification.
also i can't restore using itunes because it asks to turn off find my iphone feature. and i can't turn it off because the account is disabled
how can I restore the iphone in this case?

You can't. There isn't a way to bypass Activation Lock: http://support.apple.com/kb/PH13695 Your only option is to return the phone if possible. If not, you have a useless device.

Two iPhones with same Apple ID and want two separate icloud accounts.

I have two iPhones both of which are set up with the same Apple ID. How can I set up separate icloud accounts for each phone? My phone has same email for Apple ID and icloud account. I wants wife's phone to have icloud set up with her own email account. Right now her phone keeps automatically reverting to my email address for icloud.

To migrate to a separate account she will have to go to Settings>iCloud, tap Delete Account, provide the password for the current account to turn off Find My iPhone when prompted (if she's running iOS 7), choose Keep on My iPhone (to keep a copy of the iCloud data on her phone), then sign back in with a different Apple ID to create her new account and choose Merge to upload the data to the account. (Deleting the account only deletes it from her phone, not from iCloud. This won't effect your phone.)
Once she's on a separate account, you can each sign into your account on icloud.com and delete the other person's data from your account.

Without the previousl owner's Apple ID password, you have a brick. There is no way around it.

I got my phone a couple of years ago and when it came in the mail, I wasn't home so my brother decided to set up my iPhone for me because he was so desperate to check the phone out. My iCloud account has been his account and it's been set up under his e-mail since the day I got my phone. Once he bought an iPhone, he set it up under the same e-mail account and now we share it. It's so annoying because all of my pictures and stuff are stored in my iCloud, but that's under his e-mail and I really want a new iCloud account but I want to transfer all of my iCloud information and pictures to my e-mail without losing them. Randomly, my brother has been receiving some of my facetime calls and I even turned it off so that it is only set on my device. I didn't even know he received any of my facetime calls until the other day when my friend told me. Now, our contacts are shared and I don't want that either. At one point during the summer, he was receiving my text messages as well. I turned all of those off under settings so they wouldn't be shared on his device, but I need to find a way to carry my iCloud stuff and set it up in a my own completely separate account. Please, please help me. I really am getting so frustrated with it and neither of us want to delete our accounts because we don't want to lose our iCloud stuff.

We have four apple ios5 devices in our household under one apple id . Each of us want our own icloud account though. We don't want eachothers stuff on eachother's phones and ipods. What can we do to stop that so we can have our own? We have our own contacts, pictures and music. We want it to stay that way. Please help!!!

I've been trying to figure out a clean way to do this too. I think you may need more than one Apple ID – one that is shared and used to purchase "sharable" items and then "individual" Apple IDs for you and your son. That's the idea that I'm pursuing for the moment.
It seems that there must be a way to do this, App Store purchases for the Mac are licensed across multiple machines. iPhone app purchases have "all your devices" licensing. Makes me think that Apple has a process in mind for sharing an account (or associating a device with multiple accounts).
Other things I've learned:
- Apparently you can't merge Apple ID accounts. I asked about this once at an Apple Store and was told that there was no way to do it.
- If you share an Apple ID the Messages app behaves in a somewhat surprising manner. It must use your Apple ID to decide where messages should be sent because all users get all messages. This can make it very hard to organize a surprise party :-)

Morph one .Mac/.Me account into two iCloud accounts.

We recently updated to iCloud and established a separate account for my wife's iPhone4, where previously we were both on one .Mac/.Me account. Now, to update the Apps on her phone, she has to log into both my account and her account. Is there anyway to end this madness short of repurchasing all of her Apps? (I think this qualifies as real First World problem, don't you?)

Each iCloud account has a unique ID. If you want a separate iCloud account you would need to create it using a different Apple ID. You can continue to share the same ID for other services such as iTunes; the ID for these services does not need to be the same as your iCloud ID. It's recommended, however, that you do not share the same ID for iMessage and FaceTime or you will end up getting each other's text messages and FaceTime calls on your devices.
