I want to disable the encryption for my backups. Where do I find that?

I want to disable the encryption in ITunes so I can work with restoring my new Iphone 5s and my new Ipad Air.
Where do I find that?

Hello RadioProf,
Thank you for using Apple Support Communities.
For more information, take a look at:
iTunes: About iOS backups
http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4946
iOS: Troubleshooting encrypted backups
http://support.apple.com/kb/TS5162
iTunes will continue making encrypted backups until you deselect the Encrypt backup checkbox in the iTunes Device Summary screen. You need the backup password to disable backup encryption or to restore from an encrypted backup.
Have a nice day,
Mario

  • HT204053 I need to updated my address on my apple account like the insurance on the phone for 2 years where can I update that informations.

I have 3 iphones on my accounts one for my sister that I just upgraded last month. However when I signed up for the insurance the address on my profile is wrong when Apple emailed me for confirmation on that particular phone. I needed to correct that address and just wanted to know how to fix it and where I needed to go to do it or call for that matter.

I have no solution but would like to add to the list of people having problem. Like the poster above, my 3GS was working great with Bluetooth. The phone would automatically connect and resume playing my podcast for my drive to and from work. I absolutely *love* that feature.
Upgraded to iPhone 4S on IOS 5 and now it doesn't connect. It *has* auto connected a few times but mostly it doesn't and I have to re-pair it. I haven't had a problem pairing the two but it's such a pain to have to go through that.
Of course, nothing has changed on the Sync side so it would appear to be a problem with iPhone 4S or IOS 5 or some combination. But then again, maybe Ford's implementation of Bluetooth was not quite up to spec and it happened to work on the old phone but not now. Who knows but it's very frustrating.

  • Exchange 2010 - Email signature setup with Transport Rule - Want to disable the rule for iOS devices

So we decided to have a company wide email signature which pulls user info from AD to fill in the HTML template. What I have found out is that iOS devices send email as plain text which displays the HTML content with strings of text in emails send from
those devices. The only way I have found to make this work is have the user keep the default "Send from my iPhone" signature and exclude the rule based on that text in the body. Is there a cleaner option in case our users decide to change their default
    signature on their iOS devices?

I can't find a clean answer for you.
You might use the Set-TransportRule cmdlet and one of the exception clauses to look for something in the header.  I looked at an ActiveSync-generated header from my Droid (I don't have an iPhone to try this out on) and I see this:
    Message-ID: [email protected]
    The clause:
    -ExceptIfHeaderMatchesPatterns "Message-ID:\s(\S|\s)*email.android.com"
should exclude messages sent from Droids.  Of course, I can't say that it'll exclude all of them so you'll have to experiment and use trial and error.

You may need to experiment with the rule because I haven't tested it.

  • HT1222 I have a new pc with windows 7 and cn no loner connect myniphone or iPad says cannot be used because the required software is not installed run the iTunes installer to remove iTunes then install the 64 bit version ofnitunes where do I find that lin

How do I upgrade my iPhone 4s and mybipad to the windows 7 64 bit version of iTunes

Let's try a standalone Apple Mobile Device Support install. It still might not install, but fingers crossed any error messages will give us a better idea of the underlying cause of why it's not installing under normal conditions.
Download and save a copy of the iTunesSetup.exe (or iTunes64setup.exe) installer file to your hard drive:
    http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/
Download and install the free trial version of WinRAR:
    http://www.rarlab.com/
Right-click the iTunesSetup.exe (or iTunes64setup.exe), and select "Extract to iTunesSetup" (or "Extract to iTunes64Setup"). WinRAR will expand the contents of the file into a folder called "iTunesSetup" (or "iTunes64Setup").
Go into the folder and doubleclick the AppleMobileDeviceSupport.msi (or AppleMobileDeviceSupport64.msi) to do a standalone AMDS install.
(If it offers you the choice to remove or repair, choose "Remove", and if the uninstall goes through successfully, see if you can reinstall by doubleclicking the AppleMobileDeviceSupport.msi again.)
Does it install (or uninstall and then reinstall) properly for you? If so, can you get a normal iTunes install to go through properly now?
If instead you get an error message during the install (or uninstall), let us know what it says. (Precise text, please.)

  • I want to set the alarm for weekdays/weekend

I want to set the alarm for weekdays/weekend how I can do that on my iphone 3Gs, I Google as well but unable to find and way to do this. I do not want to set the alarm every day. It really very hard that I set it every time.
If any know any other application that I can have for alarm. iphone built-in alarm system is carp.

Yes, but he doesn't say why it is, unsuitable, for his needs. From what he says, it is perfect for his needs - you can set it for just one day, or any subset of weekdays, you can set it once, or repeat any number of times, or indefinately, it does not have to be the active app to work, and it is free and already included on the iPhone.
Simply set a weekday alarm, set it to repeat M/T/W/T/F, set a weekend alarm to repeat every S/S, and that's it - unless I'm completely misreading the first part of the post.
Given what was posted as desired for the app's function, simple saying the built in clock's alarm is "carp" really doesn't add anything, since by all accounts it does actually do everything that the first part of the post wants.
Unless he wants an alarm function that automagically somehow knows which days to chime and which days to not?

  • Want to disable the pricing conditions in VA02

    Hi,

  • Can we disable the ability for users to sites and subsites in their SharePoint 365 Profile Site?

We have plans to roll out a hybrid SharePoint with our profiles in the Cloud. Does anyone know if it is possible to disable the ability for users to create sites under their Profile site in the cloud? As it stands out of the box, it looks like every
user can create as many sites as they want under their Profile. There is a concern that users will "self-service" their own solutions without going through the proper channels of governance. Has anyone had to deal with this or have experience
on how to restrict this functionality? Thanks in advance! :)

HI Ken,we can disable this by blocking the self service site creation option.By default its disabled.
To disable the "Self-Service Site creation" option, just follow the steps given below:
    1.   Go to the Central admin.
    2.   Go to the "Application Management" & Select the specific web application.
    3.   Now, you can see the "Self-Service Site Creation" option in the Ribbon Menu.
    4.   Click on that Menu item and Select the "Off" option in the pop-up window

  • I want to disable the iPhone was stolen by you

I want to disable the iPhone was stolen by you

Then you can not disable the phone. It can only be disabled if Find my iPhone is enabled, and to enable Find my iPhone requires an Apple ID which is how you log in to an icloud account at https://icloud.com.
If you report the phone stolen to your carrier in some countries the carrier can block the IMEI, but only for that country.

  • I WANT TO DISABLE THE LOCK SCREEN CAMERA

I WANT TO DISABLE THE LOCK SCREEN CAMERA

I know I shall regret asking, but why does keeping the iPhone out of reach of your toddler imply it must also be out of reach of yourself?
I suppose not comepletely out of reach for me, but not out in the open. I would have to put my phone either on top of a high shelf, which I would need to get on a stoll myself to get to, or in a closet or inside a cabinet. The truth is that I spend most of my time at home in the same room as my daughter, which is the layroom, and there aren't really any places there to put my phone out of reach. Putting it our of reach for her would mean missing phonecalls myself.
This is beyond this topic of discussion, really and I'm sorry. My daughter had gotten used to the fact that if she did get a hold of my phone she couldn't do anythig with it. Now she's learned that she can take pictures if she gets a hold of the phone and it's a fight every time she "finds" my phone, because now she wants to be able to take pictures and it's tiring having to take it away from her, deal with the crying and screaming and also have to punish her for the offense. Again, this is getting way off topic.
My opinion on the actual topic of this discussion is that this "feature" shouldn't have been imposed on me, I should've been given a way to disable this feature. It was, in my opinion, not well thought out by apple and I really think we should get a new update that allows us to disable it. (already told apple what I thought, thank you).

  • How to disable the  Options for a decision workitem at runtime

I want to  disable the  Options (in this  case, Approve  and Reject ) for a decision workitem  at runtime (depending on a condition).

    Hi Dhavalshree,
As vijay have mentioned, I will not be possible to Disable option of a decision step at runtime.
You can get this functionality by following the steps mentioned below
    1)     Have one more step (CONDITION STEP) before this decision step in workflow definition
    2)     In the condition step, with the step name say (approve or reject)
    3)     In the condtion tab, define a flag say &YFLAG&
    4)     Write the expression to this flag as &YFLAG& = Y
    5)     Define two outcomes for this condition step i.e. True and False
    6)     Under u2018Trueu2019 give the outcome name as APPROVE
    7)     Under u2018Falseu2019 give the outcome name as REJECT
    8)     Based on the path have two different decision steps in each path of condtion step
    9)     In the Approve Pathu2019s decision step define only one option i.e. Approve
    10)     In the Reject Pathu2019s decision step define only one option i.e. Reject.
    Hope this will help you.

  • I want to disable the pointless "slide to unlock"

It is unbelievably stupid that there's no option to disable the "slide to unlock" barrier when I pick up my iPad2.  I just want to push the top button and start using it!

djmordigal, thanks for your response, but your logic isn't sound.
    >What if somebody got ahold of your iPad, or what if you lost it? If you have a passcode on it
I don't have a passcode, so there's no difference in security between forcing the user to slide the bar and not.
    >Also, what if you put it in a bag or something during your travels and something knocked against the button and turned it on?
First, the difference between "bumping the button and going to the lock screen" and "bumping the button and going to the home screen" is about 50 seconds of active-mode power, which is insignificant.  Second, the iPad resides in my living room and I never bump the power button.
hannifromeureka, yes, it is a chore.  Sometimes I want to push the button for standby mode to chat with someone in the room, and then push it to turn back on--but this is a pain because of the extra lock step.  Having to Slide To Power Off is also dumb; if I ever hold the power button for 2 seconds, just turn off!  Don't force me to do redundent steps!  For a device that's so focused on ease of use, it's very odd they force a totally redundant step just to power on and off.
alanfromnewtownards, that just stops the device from entering standby when sitting idle, which is a bad effect.  And still, when you go to standby manually and come back, or do a cold power-on, you're faced with the lock.
It's much more understandable that a phone wouldn't give you the ability to disable the lock screen, since power buttons are easily bumped in your pocket, but it's still a desireable feature.  To not have it on the iPad is inexcusible.

  • I have multiple devices that have my iCloud E-mail, I want to disable the E-Mail on some of the devices but keep it on others, I do not have physical access to the ones I want to disable but I do have access to the devices I want to keep receiving mc

I have multiple devices that have my iCloud E-mail, I want to disable the E-Mail on some of the devices but keep it on others, I do not have physical access to the ones I want to disable but I do have access to the devices I want to keep receiving mail, can I do this with a simple password reset or will that still leave all devices enabled?

The simple way would be to uncheck 'Mail' in System Preferences (or Settings)>iCloud, but as you would need access to the devices in question to do that you will have to change your password, at http://appleid.apple.com. You will then need to sign out and back on all the devices you want to be able to receive mail, and it's important that you follow this procedure and note the warning:
Firstly, if you have 'Find My iPhone/iPad/iMac' enabled on any of your devices, turn it off.
Go to http://appleid.apple.com and click 'Manage your Apple ID'. Sign in with the current ID.
Where it says 'Password & Security' and gives your current ID email address, click 'edit'.
Enter your new password and click 'Save changes'.
Now you will need to go to each of your devices and sign out in System Preferences (or Settings)>iCloud - 'Sign out' on a Mac, 'Delete this account' on an iOS device (this will not delete the account from the server).
Then sign back in with your new ID. Your iCloud data will disappear from your devices when you sign out, but reappear when you sign back in.
I re-iterate: before you start, turn off 'Find My Mac' (or whatever) or you will need the services of Support.
The devices on which you have not changed the password will throw up continual error messages as they attempt to contact iCloud and fail.
