  • I downloaded Adobe Acrobat Reader, free download, and it won't let me do anything until I pay...why?

I downloaded Adobe Acrobat Reader and it continues to tell me I have to sign up and pay before I can do anything.  Why?

By the way, maybe you're just confused about the product, since you're certainly confused about the name.
There is no product (not any more) called Adobe Acrobat Reader.
There is Adobe Reader - it is free.
There is Adobe Acrobat - this is not free (but the download offers a free trial)
You can have either or both.

  • Can't download Adobe Acrobat Reader

    I'm using Vista.
I used to have Adobe Acrobat Reader 8.2.1 but accidentally deleted 1 of the 3 files on the Uninstall Program. I was still able to open a pdf at that time.
I've decided to upgrade it but it wasn't completed, it's looking for the installation package, AdbeRdr812_en_US.msi.
We've tried the System Restore, not successful.. I'm not able to open any pdf at that time anymore.
Tried to unistall the program, it was still not successful.
I was able to uninstall the program using Advance System Care.
Now, I'm trying to install Adobe Acrobat Reader 9, got an error: 1606. Tried to use MS Fixit, still got the same error...
What happened? Will i still be able to download it?
    Thanks!

Thanks for helping me. Although I cannot download the 9.3 version, I can now view a pdf file although i really have to save the link first.
I've entered "Windows Installer Cleanup Utility"  on google chrome & I was able to download a software: RegCure.
I really don't know what happened next, but after that I'm in the process of installing Adobe Reader 8.0 then had a shortcut on desktop.
Tried to open a pdf file by opening the application & it was successful.
Tried to view a pdf file online but it's prompting me to install version 9.3, where I'm getting the error :%APPDATA%\Adobe\Acrobat\PREFER~1.
I think this is better rather than unable to open a pdf before. I'll not insist in upgrading it anymore.. Thank you very much and thanks for your patience. =)

  • I use program PDF Converter Professional. When downloading from the net I want to use Adobe Acrobat Reader to open downloaded pdf forms. Adobe Acrobat is my default program but Firefox keeps using PDF Converter. How do I change this?

Acrobat Reader is the default program for all variants of pdf files, both in Windows 7 and in Firefox.

So you have a trial version of Acrobat (that is not activated) installed?  If so, uninstall it.
Do you also have Adobe Reader installed?  If so, you need to open it once and accept the EULA.

  • Cannot download Adobe Acrobat Reader

I cannot download the trial version of Adobe Reader on this computer - the only thing that comes up is that I did a prior download for one of the other Adobe produts - Adobe ......X - I don't remember the full name. Could that somehow be interfering? I have gone through all the other possible problem-solving techniques in the download help.
    Please help!
    Thank you,
    Leeann

Did you try downloading from http://get.adobe.com/reader/?

  • How to download Adobe Acrobat Reader & Adobe Flash Player without install?

    Hello!
I have over 100 computers without connect to Internet. How can I get installation files without automatic install to the current computer?!

Hi, With this link, you should be able to SAVE the Installer to the Desktop. Just be sure to reject any extras like Toolbars, McAfee, etc.
    http://get.adobe.com/reader/
With Flash Player you can also SAVE the Installers to the Desktop:

I hope this is what you need.

  • I want to download adobe acrobat 9 pro for mac

becaus e i have the serial number but i dont have the instaltion files. And in page for download files, only have the actual version.
how can i get my product?

    > ToKu please complete the remaining steps within the document.
I don't understand.  The instructions (at http://www.adobe.com) say 'After clicking "Download Now," you will be prompted to install the Adobe Download Assistant. Your trial download will begin automatically after you install the Download Assistant.'  There are no documents within AdobeDownloadAssistant.dmg, just the file 'Install Adobe Download Assistant.app'.  When that installer runs, it does not produce any documents; it only installs 'Adobe Download Assistant.app' in /Applications.  Within 'Adobe Download Assistant' there is no "help menu" or documentation.  There is only a link labelled "Help" that takes a user to the Adobe forums web page.  What "remaining steps within the document" are you referring to?
    > If you are still unable to download using the Adobe Download Assistant then please utilize an alternate Internet connection.
I have tried various machines on campus (each with separate internet connections).  I have tried my machine at home.  I get exactly the same results: no products are shown by 'Adobe Download Assistant'.
If it is a network problem, why is 'Adobe Download Assistant' able to access the internet and adobe.com in order to allow me to log in with my Adobe ID?

  • Cannot download and install Adobe Acrobat Reader

I've tried numerous times and ways to download Adobe Acrobat Reader but to no availa.  I've changed my browser, switched off my firewall, but nothing works.   Error messages are either 'Cannot find reliable source' or 'Download time expired'.   What do I do to get this thing ?

try using a direct download: http://prodesigntools.com/tag/ddl.
follow the directions.  if you see an access denied page, you didn't follow the directions.  re-read and re-try.

  • Can not open Adobe Acrobat reader, when downloading a document...?

I downloaded Adobe Acrobat Reader "successfully,"  yet when I try and download a file, the pop up says would you like to download Adobe reader??

If the above does not resolve your issue, please provide some details.

  • Using Adobe Acrobat Reader DC

I was trying to download a pdf document form the web.  When I went to do so, I got a message stating that I needed the latest version.  So, I downloaded Adobe Acrobat Reader DC.  The problem is that it does not read any documents that I click.  How do you use this thing?  Why isn't it automatic?

Adobe Reader and Flash Player are different kinds of things, not opposites. You can have both.
However, it still seems that the simplest thing is to just save the document.  Apple have made this easy, but well hidden.
In Mavericks, I have to move the mouse to the bottom centre of the window with the document, then slowly move the mouse up the CENTRE of the document. A little toolbar appears, with four buttons, and button 4 is download. I hate this sort of thing, but that's how they all are these days.
