I want to download Firefox 4

I want to download/install Firefox 4 not 5 because it does not work with real player down loader. where can I get it?

Due to security vulnerabilities, rolling back to Firefox 4.0.1 is not recommended. Firefox 3.6.18 would be the safer choice.
''Edit: If you are currently running 3.6.18, just stick with that until Real updates its add-on.''
Here's the process to roll back:
First, I recommend backing up your Firefox settings in case something goes wrong. See [https://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/Backing+up+your+information Backing up your information]. (You can copy your entire Firefox profile folder somewhere outside of the Mozilla folder.)
Next, download and save Firefox 3.6 to your desktop for future installation. http://www.mozilla.com/firefox/all-older
Close Firefox 5.
You could install Firefox 3.6 over it (many have reported success) or you could uninstall Firefox first. If you uninstall, do not remove your personal data and settings, just the program.
Unless you have installed an incompatible add-on, Firefox 3.6 should pick up where you left off. If there are serious issues, please post back with details.

I want to download Firefox on a flashdrive so I can then download it to my home computer which is not connected to the internet. When I download Firefox, it won't let me change the path and so tries to download on a public computer, which isn't allowed. The reason I want it on my home computer is because I'm creating web pages and I want to view my html pages using a variety of browsers, including Firefox.

From another computer, go to http://www.mozilla.com/firefox/, click "Free download" button, click "Save File" button, select your flash drive in "Save as" window. "Firefox Setup 3.6.13.exe" file will be saved in your flash drive.
You just need to insert it in your new computer and double-click on "Firefox Setup 3.6.13.exe" from Windows Explorer and follow instructions.

Norton toolbar update for Firefox 8 has been released --> http://community.norton.com/t5/Norton-360/Firefox-8-Support-for-Norton-Toolbar/td-p/581640
You may need to re-enable 2 extensions for Norton in Add-ons > Extensions after installing Firefox 8. Firefox 8 automatically disables third-party Add-ons. When starting Firefox 8 for the first time ('''''and only the first time startup of Firefox 8'''''), you are given the option to check the items that you want enabled. After that, enabling Add-ons can be done in Add-ons > Extensions.

  • Using safari and I want to download Firefox

I recently upgrade to Snow Leopard from Tiger which uses safari, I am a photographer and would like to to register my copy right Image to the copy right office is washington DC over the internet.. The beta works with Firefox... I wanted to know what steps I would need to do to download Firefox on my mac book pro... The pros and cons... is it straight forward simply download firefox and then I can use either safari or firefox when I want? I am not a mac or computer expert just fumbling my way through as I need different application and so on... Thanks for taking the time to help a novice out..
When I upgraded to snow leopard I didn't know I had to upgrade aperture as well as other software, now I do.... so I was hoping to save time and some headaches by asking the safari/Firefox first...

    Good luck with Firefox.
I like Firefox for several reasons, one of which are the great add-ons you can get. I don't go overboard with them, but there are some privacy and security add-ons that I wish Safari had.
On the other hand, Firefox is just too painfully slow on my Mac, and even more of a resource hog than Safari, that it's just not viable as my first browser of choice.
I even tried using the Furbism "optimized" Firefox build for my particular machine, and an example of how processor-heavy Firefox is: I had three or four tabs open, and the entire application minimized in my dock. In my Activity Window, it was still taking over 50% of my CPU's capacity!
Maybe you'll have better luck with your machine. By the way, you have to go to Safari preferences to choose your browser of choice, even if it's not Safari.
    Cheers!

  • I just want to download Firefox! Where is the stupid download button?

I've tried every link on the website and nothing looks like the picture that shows the "Free download" button. I'm not an idiot and I'm more than the average computer savvy person but I swear someone has hidden the dumb thing.

You can download Firefox via these web pages:
    * Firefox 4.0: http://www.mozilla.com/firefox/all.html
    * Firefox 3.6.x: http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/all-older.html

  • Don't want to download Firefox when it is providing access to a third party site that you must accept

I went to download Firefox on my new computer, and I was shocked that in the license agreement, there is now a third party that will be allowed access to much of my information and share it with advertisers. I will only download Mozilla if I can do it some way to not allow this. Otherwise, I'll reject Mozilla and never use it again.

No, I downloaded directly from mozilla. It adds garbage anyway. I had to Google to find the answer. You have to go into your programs and look for a certain program & delete it. That got rid of the Bing search engine. Even going to Chrome and setting Google as the default search engine still didn't correct it, until I did this.

  • In Google Chrome, when I try to download Firefox, I keep getting a message " This type of file can harm you computer. Are you sureyou want to download Firefox...3.6.12.exe

I have tried to download Firefox...3.6.12.exe
I keep getting a message, on the bottom of the screen,
"This type of file can harm your computer"
Can you advise please, as I haven't had an problems with Firefox in the past.

Does it still let you download the file? If it does, and you are trying to download the file from http://www.mozilla.com/ ignore the message and download the file.

  • I want to download Firefox, but NOT have it as default browser, and not affect other users on the computer - is this possible?

I want to install Firefox, and be able to use it on demand, whilst retaining Internet Explorer as default browser. Will I be able to use either browser as and when I wish?
Thanks, and sorry for being stupid!

    Hi Tony,
Thanks a lot - I thought that was the case, but needed to check!
Will McAfee security talk to Firefox ok? Site Advisor etc?

  • I want to download Firefox and there doesn't seem to be a download button on the page.

I have IExplorer 8. I have gone to the pages for Firefox, clicked where it says download, and it takes me to pages where I can learn more, but I cannot seem to find a button to download firefox. Where is it?

  • I want to download Firefox for Mac OS 10.4.11, but it downloads Firefox 4 even when I click on 3.6 0r 3.5. How can I download the correct Firefox for Mac OS 10.4.11??

I have Mac OS 10.4.11. My Mac Laptop Pro has a new hard drive and has been completely refurbished by Apple. However ever since, I have not been able to obtain the correct Firefox. Prior to the replacement of my hardrive, I had Firefox and used it for many years. Not being able to download the correct Firefox is frustrating. Firefox 4 will NOT work on Mac OS 10.4.11. But every time I click on a download of 3.5 or 3.6 the download turns out to be Firefox 4. I cannot use Firefox 4, do not want Firefox 4 but it keeps trying to plant itself on my computer even though it will NOT work on my computer. YIKES!!!!

There is a third party version of Firefox 4 that runs on OS X 10.4/10.5 and PPC Macs, for details see http://www.floodgap.com/software/tenfourfox
If you prefer, you can get the latest version of Firefox 3.6 from http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/all-older.html

  • I want to download Firefox 17 to a jump drive on a Windows machine and install it on my Mac. Can I do this?

I live in Mountain View and use Google WiFi which is provided by Google for the City of Mountain View. For the past few months, they have been having a BIG problem with the corruption of downloads. Even teensy tiny ones. Perhaps you've heard about it since you're also in Mountain View. They have not responded to repeated posts from the forum... I have an iMac running Snow Leopard 10.6.8 and I haven't been able to update my software. I go to Lane Medical Library at Stanford to use the Windows machines there. I load whatever standalone software that I can onto a jump drive and install it at home. Unfortunately, some sites (like Apple and maybe even Mozilla!) recognize the computer you're on and only allow you to download software compatible with the machine that you are actually sitting at. This means that I can't reinstall Safari because I can't get a copy of it. And it looks like I might not be able to install Firefox 17.0 either. At least, that's what I'm trying to find out. "We've made some educated guesses about your current browser and operating system." See what I mean? So when I go to the library, will I be able to download a copy of Firefox 17.0 for the Mac and install it on my computer at home? Thanks!

You can find the latest Firefox release in all languages and for all Operating Systems here:
    *Firefox 17.0.x: http://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/all.html
Download and save the DMG file for Mac on the jump drive and install the program in the usual way.

#A link to Firefox 4 versions will not be offered by any '''''responsible''''' contributor here, because Firefox 4 versions contain stability and security issues <u>that will not be corrected</u>. Firefox 4 is a thing of the past.
#The only currently supported versions that a '''''responsible''''' contributor here will offer are Firefox 5 and Firefox 3.6.18.
