I want to download something and what do i do when i have no payment card
i want to download something and its asking for a payment card but the app is free. when i download an app there is a review acount and maybe at the final step they are asking for a payment card which i don't have and i cannot skip the step. what do i do to download the app from a Macbook air 13 inches.

If you want to select None and remove the payment information or credit card from your account, follow these steps.
Using an existing iTunes Store or App Store account
If you have an unpaid balance or payment due, you can't select None as your payment type. To see which order you need to pay for, view your purchase history. When you sign in to the store, you may see a message that there was a billing issue with your last order. Click the Billing Info button to see the order.
After you pay for the order, you can change your payment information to None.
Creating a new iTunes Store or App Store account
When you create a new store account or sign in with an existing Apple ID (that you haven't used in the store), you must provide a payment method. If you want to remove the payment method after you create the account, you can change your payment information to None.
If you want to create an account with a new Apple ID, follow these steps to create an account without a credit card.

Many developers when they updated their apps fro the newer iOSs dropped support for the older iOSs. That included Skype and other developers. Unless you have a copy of the apps version that was compatible with your iPod/iOS you are out of luck. Do you cave such a copy in a computer file backup??

IWeb site wants to download something and won't bring up website... help!
Howdy!
I'm pretty new to Mac and iWeb, but not new to web design. I created a site in iWeb that I need to launch asap. I have the domain all setup and have tested it with a test html document that I created in Dreamweaver and it worked fine.
This morning I published my iWeb site to a folder, and then uploaded the files to my web server. When I try to go to the site, it won't bring it up and asks to download a file. It makes no sense to me.
I am not publishing to a .mac account. I'm using BlueHost.com. It doesn't seem that any of the web page files that iWeb publishes to the folder are any different. They publish as .html so it seems it should work fine. Any thoughts?
The site is http://www.DOPevent.com go there and you'll see the craziness that I mean. So freakin' wierd. I'll send a support ticket to bluehost.com as well, but any help would be most appreciated. This is for an event coming up on May 10, so time is of the essence!
By the way, Mac rules.I think this is definitely a server problem. For some reason it seems to be treating your site like php instead of html. Some servers are (mis)configured in a way that does that, but this particular behavior is a new one. Hopefully Bluehost can fix it. This note describes fixes for other cases I have seen:

I can, with 99.99% certainty, tell you that you are absolutely right in not wanting to download or install this "Helper," whatever it is (but we can be equally certain it would not "help" anything).
I cannot comment as to Oglethorpe's recommendation of 'adwaremedic'; I am unfamiliar with it. His links to the Apple discussion and support pages warrant your time and attention.
It might be really simple -- Trying looking in your Downloads folder, trash anything that you don't know with certainty is something you want to keep, and then Secure Empty your Trash. Then remove the AdBlock extension, LastPass, and Web of Trust extensions to Safari and re-boot. If the issue goes away, still be extraordinarily careful in the future.
Unfortunately, it's probably not going to be that simple to get rid of, in which case I'd then try the line by line editing in HT203987.
I have no further suggestions (other than a complete wipe and re-install...but that's a pain because trying to restore from Time Machine would simply ... restore the Mal).
For the rest of us, please post when you find a solution.

Further to the other points, what you might want to do is
- first, make sure your daughter does not know your password, and change it if you suspect she does;
- second, turn off in-app purchases, and set your iPhone/iPad to require a password on every purchase. See this article:

If the decrypt went without any interruptions or anything that looked like an error then your computer is probably OK. The fact that none of your accounts can log in leads me to believe you may some corruption somehwere else.
Find your software installation CD or DVD that came with your Mac or that you purchased in a store and insert it into the drive. You can boot to it by holding down the "C" key at startup.
After you pass the initial screen for language you'll see the software installation page. Ignore this. Instead look under the menus for Disk Utility. Run Repair Permissions and Repair Disk. Restart and try to log in again.
If that doesn't work then restart from the disk again and look for the menu option to reset an administrator password. If you can get into just one admin account then you should be able to reset passwords for any others.
If resetting an admin password doesn't work then I suggest you look into using a third party tool such as DiskWarrior from Alsoft <http://www.alsoft.com>. It is an excellent tool for repairing disk problems. If you have Apple Care then you may have also receieved a CD for TechTool. You can run that as well.

The original iPad can't be updated past 5.1.1; you may be able to get compatible application versions by downloading them to a computer and then going to the Purchased screen on the device.
