I want to enable updates it is grayed out

I had a problem with a website and then realized that my firefox was not updating I have ver. 3.5.3 my enable updates is grayed out and i cant figure out how to get updates manually or otherwise

The coupons from the app are actually received from several coupon providers. Generally you should see a website on the coupon as well such as coupons.com. and this is who you would contact for any redemption issues.

ITunes 11 for Mac "Update All Apps" grayed out, requiring relaunch to update again

On iTunes 11.2.1 (1) "Update All Apps" grays out after I update once. I need to relaunch iTunes to get it to be clickable again. I am definitely logged in, etc., so it seems like a bug with iTunes, yes?

The last several versions of iTunes have had this bug. The "Update All Apps" works once, and then it's greyed out after that until you quit and relaunch.
As a workaround, you can click the first app, hold down the shift key, and click the last app to select them all. Then right click on one of the apps and select "Update X Apps."

IPod 5th Gen: no photos/videos tab, Update & Restore buttons grayed out

Hi, I've got a PowerBook G4 667 DVI with a Macally cardbus USB 2.0 adaptor. I also have a sorta new 5th Gen 60GB iPod (bought Oct 2006). Using OS X 10.4.8 and iTunes 7.0.2.
I've already reinstalled the OS and iTunes a couple of times. No luck yet.
Since day 1 with this iPod, I've had these problems (using both USB 1 and 2):
(1) The photos and videos tabs do not appear in the iPod pane. (http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=302583 is useless, as is the article it points to.)
(2) The update and restore buttons are always grayed out. The iPod came PC formatted. In order to Mac format it, I tried everything, struck out with tech support on the phone, and finally had to take it to the Apple store. It worked, restored, and reformatted fine on their iMac. Took 5 minutes. But still, with my computer, I still have the same problem.
(3) Whenever the iPod syncs, I get the following error message:
"Some of the items in the iTunes library were not copied to the iPod because your iPod software is too old. Go to the Summary tab and click Update," yada yada.
But I can't, since Update is always grayed out. The result is that none of my iTMS purchases will sync. All my mp3s and non-FairPlay music syncs fine. My computer is registered, and I do buy/download without problems. Maybe the iPod doesn't know what account it's linked to?
(4) Not a problem, but perhaps a cue to the cause of the others: in the Summary tab, software version and serial number are both "n/a".
Any ideas? I'm out of ideas.

After about a month of not using my 5th generation iPod, I connected it to the computer... only to be greeted by the wrong icon for the iPod itself and iTunes no longer recognizing it as a 5th generation iPod. The update/restore buttons are also greyed out, and no amount of restoring on different machines and updating and reapplying OS software seems to make a difference.
You are not alone on this one. I am at a loss as to what to do software wise, since it used to work just fine.

Security Update 2008-007 grays out Fast user switching, et. al.

I have noticed, over the course of installing the Security Update 2008-007 on several computers of various types (Power PC and Intel, all running at least OS 10.5.4 initially), that after the restart I see in System Preferences>Accounts>Login Options that the Automatic login 'drop down', 'Show Password Hints', and 'Enable fast user switching' are all grayed out. It noticed this after running the 10.5.5 combo update, among other system updates, on several of the computers at work. I was able to trace the problem to the Security Update 2008-007, because on most of the computers I purposely installed this separately after all other updates had been run and these same fields were grayed out on all but 2 stations. I have not found the common factors or discernible differences yet between the computers that were problematic and those which were problem free and tried unsuccessfully to avoid/correct the issue by running permissions repair before and/or after the Security Update and/or 10.5.5 update, as well as downloading the updater files and installing them locally. Has anyone experienced this problem after the Security update was run? I hope someone can suggest a fix, because Fast User Switching is much less intrusive on our employees if they don't have to log out each time I have to check their stations for something! Thanks.

Alas. I tried that already without result, as well as running Leopard Cache Cleaner and Disk Warrior as acts of desperation. I didn't expect them to help and they didn't. All user spaces display the grayed fields, including the System Administrator. I have tried deleting a few plist files, which I were hoping were relevant, but no success yet. I have one last station running 10.5.4 which hasn't had this particular security update applied yet, so I'll see if I can isolate the culprit. Thanks for trying to help! I do appreciate the effort.

Versioning, Update option is grayed out.

How do I get the latest files from SVN server? From Toolbar, Versioning --> Update... option is always disabled (grayed out). Under what conditions does it enable?

Having issues with my new iphone6 wants factory reset, but icloud is grayed out, Need help!

I am having problem with the imessage, facetime and icloud. Facetime and icloud and completely grayed out right from the setting. As to the under the "Messages" setting, iMessage is grayed out too. I tried to use the "reset all settings" function on the phone, but I forgot my restriction code. So I want to use factory restore on itune to restore my iphone, but it needs me to go to icloud setting to turn off the "find my iphone" before I can use the restore iphone. But I can't access the icloud with the phone, since it's been grayed out. Now I am stuck.. Please help!

Automatically Update option is grayed out

When I try to photocast an album, this option is always grayed out.

It seems that the automatic update option is only available for regular albums, not Smart albums. The option is greyed out for a Smart album, but it is not for a not-so-Smart album. Weird.

UPDATE ALL is grayed out in App Store

I use my old 4s as an extra emai reader, browser, etc. Would like to update several apps on it. However:
- UPDATE ALL button button on the App Store/Updates is grayed out
- Several apps say they need an update but clicking the individual UPDATE button just opens the app
I have restarted App Store and the phone - neither had any effect. I don't have any idea when this stopped working.

I later noticed that I could not update iOS via WiFi. Found some fine print that said there was "only 2.2 GB" free space and 3.5 GB needed to update directly. That was a problem I recognized so plugged the phone into old MacBook (new iTunes apparently won't speak to iOS 7) and left the two of them alone for a while.
After that, iOS 8 was installed, all but 3 apps were updated, and the UPDATE ALL button worked for the remaining 3. Problem solved! I am still unhappy about the lack of any effective error message/advisories, but at least the problem is fixed.

How do I get location services switches enabled when they are grayed out?

In my Privacy\Location Services settings are grayed out. I don't have the option to slide them to "On." How do I get the switches activated?

A possible cause might be that you do not have write permissions for the Firefox program folder to install updates.<br />

TS1398 I have never had a problem with Apple. After the 7.02 update, my Wifi grayed out and would not turn on. Now my Wifi turns on but it will not connect. I even typed in the name and it still won't connect. I have tried all of apple's solutions.

I have tried all the solutions apple has offered online. I will not reset my phone to factory settings unless it is a last resort. What is Apple doing to fix this? I had my last Iphone last for more than 2 years and I hve had this one less than a year. My Wifi was greyed out and now it's on but won't connect or locate any networks (but if I keep switching it on and off it will freeze on me again). Does Apple have plans to fix this problem because I refuse to purchase a new phone?
Are there any other new solutions to try in fixing the Wifi that doesn't require freezing or heating up the phone or switching to airplane mode and resetting the network settings as well making sure it's up todate or changing the apostrophe in the phone's name? My phone has never been dropped or damaged. Everyone around the world seems to be having this problem and Apple does not seem to be making a move to fix it? that makes no sense... it was only doing an update... if that's the case it should have promted me to back up first if this is even possible... there is a program that says it can recovery anything that hasn't been written over yet.. so would this not work? http://www.iphone-data-recovery.com/iphone-data-recovery.html or would the apple store be able to recover it??? i've done plenty of data recovery on computers... why wouldn't it be possible on an Iphone... does apple seriously not care about thier customers at all??? how about thier employees that are gonna get more than an earful tomorrow when I walk in there store??? "Enable Access Control" for shared directory is grayed out

For shared directories in WorkGroup Manager, the checkbox "Enable Access Control" is grayed out. I want to enable ACL on a directory I have moved from another volume. The "Enable disk quotas" is also grayed out.
How do I turn on Enable ACL?

ACLs are enabled at the volume level. In the Sharing panel of WGM, you need to click the "All" tab so that you see more than just your sharepoints. Select the disk volume upon which your directory is located and then the "Enable Access Control" option should become available to you.
Note that enabling the ACLs doesn't apply them. Your directory will continue to use POSIX permissions until you specifically apply ACLs to it.

Updater grayed out

trying to update a mini (on Mac); when i open itunes i get the "updater available" message (updater is installed on my hard drive), but then i get an "unexpected error" message when i try to update. "Update Ipod" is grayed out in the itunes dropdown. when i try tp update using the updater itself, it doesn't see the mini (but itunes does). help!!!!!!!!
