I want to execute Thunderbird from Firefox toolbar

I would like to be able to kick off the Thunderbird mail program from Firefox but cant seem to find out how to make a button on a toolbar to do so. I can execute Thunderbird from Start programs but would like to be able to do so while I am in Firefox. Want to read my emails.

You can use the [http://webdesigns.ms11.net/getmail.html Get Mail] add-on to add a button to open Thunderbird.

hello, for the old sync system in firefox 28 and below you also had to sign up with a mail address and password originally - to connect firefox to the old account you would need to have all those three pieces (mail, password & recovery key) available to you unfortunately...

I am not too certain what it is you are trying to do. Hardly standard behaviour, but if you wish you can create bookmark that will open the library as a tab in firefox, or create a shortcut icon on your Windows desktop that will open in the bookmarks library.

I want to transfer bookmarks from firefox on old HDD ( removed from old laptop) to the firefox on new LAPTOP

Hi, My 5 yr old Acer laptop stopped functioning due to a motherboard problem. I have a replacement HP laptop . So instead of repairing the ACER laptop i have removed the HDD and connected it to my HP laptop via USB adapter. I want to transfer the bookmarks on the firefox from the OLD HDD to the firefox in my new HP laptop.
How can i do this . ( All other data on the old HDD is safe and accsessible but i just cant find the bookmarks data of the Firefox )

On Windows Vista and Windows 7, profile folders are in this location, by default:
C:\Users\<Windows login/user name>\AppData\Roaming\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\<profile folder>.
The AppData folder is a hidden folder; to show hidden folders, open a Windows Explorer window and choose "Organize → Folder and Search Options → Folder Options → View (tab) → Show hidden files and folders".
On Windows 2000, XP, Vista, and Windows 7, you can also use this path to find the profile folder, even when it is hidden:

There are a lot of benefits to running the latest version of Firefox. You might want to just wait until the add-ons have been updated. You could also consider using the Nightly Tester add-on that will allow you to force compatibility. Use this add-on AT YOUR OWN RISK.
If you still want to roll back to a previous version of Firefox, just take a look at the Knowledge Base article [[Installing a previous version of Firefox]].

I tried to do this using Windows Easy Transfer but it didn't work properly. It only transferred the basic Thunderbird setup and loaded messages which were left on the server but not the address book or the emails on Vista which I want to keep. Frustrating!

I used the Gmail option which looked more simple for a non computer literate person. It more or less worked after a bit of tweaking - I copied the gmail messages manually across to Thunderbird and also created my address book as that didn't go across either. All is fine now, thanks.

Do you want to allow changes from firefox software updater every time I attempt to connect to the internet

Every time I attempt to connect to the internet I get a dialogue box that asks do you want to allow this programme to make changes? The publisher is Mozilla, and it also tells me that it relates to Firefox software updater. Never had this until about two hours ago! Also seemed to relate to a crash of McAffee, which happened at around the same time.. Don't know much about computers, but what I do know is that this has only just started... Help...???

Just package it (with NetBeans or using javafxpackager) to generate a jar and a JNLP file. Then you distribute these two files. Any computer with Java 1.5+ should run the JNLP, get the JavaFX runtime if not in cache and run the application.
